So my little sis and I stated having full moon tea parties about 10-12 years ago. An idea heavily influenced by the XXXholic manga. She's since moved away to another state, but we still FaceTime whenever we can on full moons. Well, she's cruelly abandoned me tonight for sleep and work in the morning. It a beautiful night here, but I have no one to share a cuppa with. So where my fellow werewolves at? You got any other weird family traditions? Or maybe spooky stories to share? Or werebeast novel recommendations? Pull up a virtual chair and chat with me.
Um, my family tries to watch new movies at the same time. Not because we want to spend time with each other but because we spoil it to those who haven't watched it. I spoiled Godzilla vs King Kong for my nephew, because he called me at two in the morning to spoil Godzilla King Of monsters. I couldn't get a ticket to the midnight showing. We also have cook offs, where we compete on a dish/ingredient, and scary movie night. Also insomnia runs in the family so I've had a lot of late night calls and visits. People tend to get annoyed when you move around when they are sleeping.
I'll start off with a spooky story. So I used to share a bedroom with my little sis when we were young and she legit used to look like one of those porcelain dolls when she was about 5. Long natural ringlets, rosy cheeks... The lot. Mom liked to dress her up like one too. Frilly nightgowns and pretty dresses. Ribbons in her hair. The works. Well she had this habit of sleep walking for a bit and we'd find her in the strangest places in the middle of the night. You just tell her she asleep and to go to bed and she'd zombie walk her way back to bed. Easy. So one night, I wake up thirsty and wander down stairs to get a drink of water. I'm around 11-12 year old at this point. On my way back from the kitchen, I switch off the kitchen light and glance into the living room. There's my little sis, sitting on the play table my great grandpa made for my mom a long long time ago when she was small. I grumble at my sis to go to bed and make my way back up stairs expecting her to follow me. She turns and nods, eyes still closed, and hops off the table. I head upstairs, but when I open the door to my room.... My little sis is still in her bed, all tucked in. I creep back downstairs... There's no one down there. I started to realize little things that were wrong. Her hair had been the wrong color and the nightgown was blue. Little sis didn't have a blue one. Didn't tell my family for years. But when I did, they all got quiet. Evidently I wasn't the only one to see a little girl in a blue nightgown over the years. That's awesome. XD Weird flex for enforced family time. You either watch with the family or spoilers for days!
Not a werewolf, but I don't mind listening to werewolves howling concerts once in a while. Howl, humanoid beasts, howl!
Moon tea parties? Why does that sound so cool? I have a scary story. So I used to live near the beach. And everyday my friend’s mom would go out for a walk/jog at 4-5AM near the beach. We were pretty much neighbors so the beach was maybe 6 blocks away from us. It had a huge boardwalk, and it was also situated near a mental asylum. Some people told me that homeless people lived under the boardwalk too. So one day, while she’s out walking like normal, she sees this couple. And it’s such a odd couple you know? It’s in the middle of summer and they’re both wearing either a long black dress or a black suit, with gloves and hats. And so it’s not even dawn yet, but they’re just quietly standing in the middle of road with no cars. So my friends mom is a bit spooked out but she waves to them and continues on running. She turns around a second later and they’re not there. The road was also super wide, so there’s no way for anyone to hide and run in a few seconds. But anyway she got really scared and ended up running back home. Where I’m from, we called those Jinns. Jinns are pretty active around that time.
Right? I can handle one night or two nights with limited sleep but after that I can't even walk right. Then people always say, you must get a lot done. No, I can't think or properly function.
