How Does Novel Updates Work?

Hi, so sorry for bothering you again. I realised that the Chinese character didn't appear in my group name so it's now just May Our Come True. I understand it might not be possible for the Chinese character to appear and it might just be a trivial thing... But is there a way to change it to May Our Dreams Come True instead? It's the name I use when the Chinese characters don't appear.

Guys I have some problem with my release lately.
here the series I'm working on Otherworldly Warriors with Erotic Skills
I just released 3 chapter in a row ( in between 5 minutes release )
V9C6 , C9C7, and V9C8

but when NU approved my release only the latest chapter is only on the first page (front page) the rest is pushed back.

I released these chapter is between 5 minute release, but in NU my release is pushed back 1 day. Is this bug?

Hi, sorry I want to ask.
How do you get a novel to translate? I'm new here, in the novel update. So I didn't know about the rules and ways to translate a novel, like getting a raw story novel or something else. Please answer me, and thank you..

by the way I use gtranslate, I'm sorry, hopefully understandable.

 

First post has instructions on how to add a novel to NU.

You cannot add novels that are translated solely by Google Translate, but it's fine to add them if you Edited the chapters before posting.

I annotate and save the novel I translated and added, but it goes back to how it was and shows up as N/A.

you were auto-banned by the system for excessive length of description/synopsis.

in the future, please don't be lazy and just copy-pasted the entire chapter and put it up as "description/synopsis", when it is clearly not. At the very least, cook up a line or two. it should not be too hard, is it?

p.s : and please don't leave the author name blank.

We have changed sites for this novel The Youngest Daughter of Snake Family.
The last 4 updated chapters are categorized as deadlinks.

I want to request that c.17-c.20 be categorized as active links, and the tittle of the novel to be changed to:

The Youngest Daugther of the Snake Family

It's missing 'the'.

I dunno why it was categorized as deadlink.

Go to Novel Updates and click on your user profile. There, you'll see a button "Report a Problem".
That's the most direct way to change novel names as well as......well, report problems with links and such.

 

Regarding how novelupdates interacts with wordpress tags vs. categories.

The OP only makes mention of wordpress categories. I was wondering if the automatic system interacts at all with the tags system on wordpress (and other blog hosts)?

According to the first post in this thread, the automatic release update bot searches for new chapters based on:

1. The titles of posts. Example: The title of every chapter has "Peerless Martial God" in it.
2. The "category" feature of wordpress. Example: Every chapter is assigned to a category labeled "Peerless Martial God".

I was wondering if the bot also utilized the "tag" feature. For example, if instead of assigning all my chapters to a category called "Peerless Martial God", I gave them a tag of "peerless martial god". Would the update bot still be able to pick up on new chapters in the same way?

 

yes it can. as long as you didn't tag it with other novels name as well (high chance of failure). otherwise, category is preferred. example.

in fact, your recent chapters were set with "former yang guifei" as its identifiers
