Discussion Crazy question between RL and fantasy. (Be warned it may get graphic).

I like watching or reading about sexual forbidden things. The point I have. Is that I’m not sure I would like to experience them in RL. For instance I think reading about a wife cheating is hot, but I don’t think I could do that in RL.
My question is. What fantasy do you like that you could never do in RL?

 

Most of the stuff I enjoy as fantasy I wouldn't even go near irl. In fact, there are very few things I enjoy as fantasies that I'd even want to bring to real life... Most are fun because they're fantasies and therefore you can go wild, but irl there are consequences, esp when it involves other people. Then again, I'm not really into "vanilla content" for fantasies, even if I'm not into extreme content either. Just most of the in-between stuff is already questionable imo. Hell, one of the most common fantasies (non-consent) when acted out can feel too real for the participants and ruin a perfectly good relationship. Lots of stories of strong couples who felt they could handle it coming out the other side, broken.

A lot of stories I read have teenage love interests. I would never have anything to do with a minor IRL. As for those shifu/shizun/disciple stories, I wouldn't support that relationship IRL.

I might also dismiss rape in stories depending on the circumstances, but rape is never okay IRL.

I'd never fight monsters when I could just let others fight them on my behalf. Or put myself in a situation where I'm disadvantaged for the sake of the 'greater good'. Not me. But I enjoy watching characters do that to themselves.

 

Yeah, this is actually common enough to be a problem. I have a hard time finding content I like that don't feature highschoolers... so much yuri content out there, yet so little featuring adults...

In real-life, a lot of the standard fan service and harem tropes in anime, manga, light/web novels could not really work. In fact, some would be arrest-worthy in real-life. Yep, I am a harem fan but the preteen imouto-type tropes are cringe to me. Yep, even us dedicated harem and fan service fans have a threshold.

"Goddess Dormitory" (the lead guy and his childhood friend, both 12, in such situations) and "Seikon no Qwaser" (the loli dominatrix and her "lover") are examples of where my threshold gets tested or was tested, from a retrospective standpoint That is, because maybe I hadn't had a realized threshold when I saw SnQ about a decade ago. Because they are fictional, my threshold is arguably a bit higher than "CUTIES" as those are depicting characters played by real-life people. Yes, I get that such is a double standard.

 

Not really, I don't see it as a double standard to separate fantasy and amusement with real life. I mean, we love superhero movies and action movies but I think we all know that testing out if the guy walking down a Hollywood street in a Superman costume is really bulletproof is not going to end well ("But, but, officer, I thought he really was a Man of Steel!!").

 

Media certainly influences out perception on things but it ultimately should be the individual on how they respond to such things or react to things. For example, violent video games might influence a person to have more violent thoughts but it is people who are at fault for committing a violent crime.

The "They look 10 but are actually much, much older"-type trope is also cringe to me though there are some actually conditions where a person might look 10 but they are actually an adult. Also, just because something is triggering doesn't necessarily mean the creators should stop making the work. However, in theory it might have been better if they had never made such a work at all. In the case of forced diversity that is cringe, you should have not been it to begin with.

 

I think the "fucking you're neighbors wife" is a great fantasy but at the same time I dont like the idea of unfaithful spouses.
