one on a decent to read on website (clear font, working next and previous links, the MC's and other characters name doesn't change every other chapter) ... or one I can grab at the library if I want a printed book ...

The ones with shorter chapters, since it takes less time to translate and I am paid the same amount for them as I am paid for the ones with bigger chapters~

    Tragedies :)
On a sidenote, a fun combo would be a well written Harem Tragedy, pretty unique and I would love to read one.

Not gonna lie but the novel cover definitely makes me wanna read them! I’m fine as long as fl can stand up for herself and the main characters can be reasonable:))

Currently, my first preference would be some good cultivation novel. Anything with minimal romance, better yet if there is no romance. (accepting recommendations in messages since i don't want to hijack the thread lol)
Cherry on the top would be a female protagonist something like 'I am a martial arts villainess but i am the strongest'

... Looks like "Action Adventure / Female Protagonist" isn't an voting option. There are good AA/Male protag LNs, of course, but if I have nothing else to go on for a random LN then AA/FP would be my choice. Such series generally keep the good action-adventure bits but tend to be much better with respect to non-love-interest interpersonal relationships. They're more likely to have friends that stick around for the long haul, family members, etc. They also tend to only have one love interest and the relationship is likely to develop beyond "early/initial forays into dating" level. I mean emotionally, not physically (physical development generally occurs at the same snail's pace as most AA/MP MCs [Aside from male cultivation-type MCs which tend to.. um.. have nothing else *except* physical development]).

LN's tend to have weak/underdeveloped/forgotten side casts in general, but AA/MP MCs have a tendency to be especially excessive spotlight hogs.

This may be due to AA/MP being more of the default option for LN action-adventure writers, so someone writing a AA/FP story is a bit more likely to have put a good amount of thought into what the MC's relationships (romantic and otherwise) are going to be like.

Actual romance LN tend to do better interpersonal relationship-wise than AA/MP as well, but can suffer from trying to create a climax / structure the plot entirely via relationship issues alone. I think romance LN work much better when they have a secondary non-romance plot to help structure the story, tbh.

I like tragedy. A bittersweet ending that makes me cry is refreshing emotionally.

Personally I'm into amoral protagonists with no romance. I don't mind if they have some sort of low bar bottom line, but if they have trouble doing something like stealing I'm out.

I love action adventure male protag stuff. Love the action adventure female protag stuff too, though I think the male protag stuff is more widely read and translated.

modern romance transmigration novels are my favorite but only when they’re well written. Most have too many plot holes and the mc is too op that it’s boring. When the plot is solid though and the mc and ml likable i can’t put it down.

Historical romances, hold the isekai and transmigration. Unless the premise is really unique, I feel like many transmigration novels become very similar to a point. Sometimes I'll dabble in modern romances, but only if it includes some kind of fantasy or supernatural element. Full modern/contemporary doesn't interest me nowadays as much as it used to.
