TV Has anyone been watching the new “Wheel Of Time” tv series for prime?

I have read the series. It’s an awesome series and the tv series is pretty good too. What do you guys think of it?

Not AFAIK.

I'm yet to watch it. I'm checking the review made by a group of youtubers, of which only one of them has read the source material, and while the rating is overall good, there has been some weird things done to it that draw me back.

 

I heard they're making one. I guess it hasn't come out yet, I thought it was already out but nevermind.

 

I’ve been avoiding it want to wait and see I’ve seen to many good book series get meh or worse shows

 

I registered at the Manetheren forum way back in the day and started receiving newletters again when the series was confirmed, and they have been quite on the case. I'd have to check it, but I believe I have not received any info about a planned movie.

Just in case I went to check their site at Dragonmount but the search for the word "movie" came back empty. Could it be that someone saw the posters with the cast of the TV series, mistook it as a movie announcement and you got that mistaken info?

Never liked it. Similar problems like I had with GRRM's ASOIAF books.

 

I take back what I said. I just watch a few reviews on YouTube. It’s been a few years since I read the series. But when I watch this series. I was like. Did that happen? Why don’t I remember that? Wait what? I do remember how they are supposed to be, but they don’t look anything like the book. Wait my favorite character killed who!
I thought it was me, but now I realize. They pulled a “Street Fighter movie” or “Dragonball movie” move. This is so mess up. No wonder I keep on second guessing the show.

I just realize they twisted the book to be more women friendly. So many things are made clear with that slant. OMG!

 

Not surprised, everyone's scrambling for female viewers/money, but what did they do? The books were already pretty female friendly, plenty of strong female characters (even if ultimately they seemed to evolve from uniqueish characters to a few lines of clone personalities). I doubt I'll watch the show but kind of curious what they changed.

Yup, I should have checked the reviews. If you read the source material. You won’t like the TV series. I kind of wish I didn’t enjoy it so much, but I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the show. Now. I have a headache

Pretty much. It’s like dude. If you want to make a fantasy show. Than do it, but don’t rip off the original work. Just to make your lame version of a fan fiction. I mean really

 

Ngl, it's difficult to adapt something fantasy like especially Dragon Ball with huge fans. I was not rly waiting for it when the news was out, though I was estactic when Stephen Chow's name was there but then it sank lol. And now with One Piece.......I dare not dream.

I'm satisfied with Gantz adaptation, at least there's that.

 

From what I read it was an original spec script that got repurposed when the studio got the rights to use the Dragon Ball IP, kind of like what happened with Starship Troopers. The difference being that DBE was bafflingly incompetent and not even tangentially related to the original story.

Women watch way more TV dramas than men by a significant margin, but you have to wonder if any woman actually likes the kind of bland, cardboard STRONK WAHMEN Hollywood so stubbornly insists on.

 

Your right to a large degree, but I sort of can deal with it after a fashion. In the books Rand was actual an orphan from a distant land. But yeah overall it’s a little to obvious

 

I do agree. The visuals was on point, but the core concept and vision of the author was denied his actual work
