I think this is a "what if a yuri ended really bad for the main leads" kind of story. I mean even in today's court system what Emilia and Ophelia had, would be considered as emotional affair and could be used as an evidence in divorce. Thinking they were about 15 or 16, when Ophelia died, they might not even realise the depth of their feelings yet. Also from the grief perspective, Emilia is the only one dealing with grief, while others are fighting to deny and reject the truth that the dead cannot be replaced.
I finally understand the title of the novel/manhwa. There is no good ending for Elodi or any of them until Emilia came into the world. Spoiler: Extra bit after Ending [Update Notification] -Non-playable character Ophelia has become a new goddess! The final update is based on important worldview changes. -1 The character of the playable character Elodie, 'Return by Death', will be deleted due to the disappearance of the existing goddess. Honestly, I really don't care if Emilia will not get married to any of the ML ( I really dont like Edmund and Casio they are both manipulative and Raretis is a little bit "OK" thou he is like "I don't care guy as long as I like you type" honestly all the guys here only think and confessed to Emilia when they think she is needed) Even if Emilia will die in the end I really don't care cause the only ending I really need is to Emilia knowing what truly Happiness is and having reasons that someone like her is also important not because she was needed but because she was truly love. I really want to hug Emilia if she was real cause I really see myself in her 10 years ago
I don’t know why people try to twist friendship and sisterhood and make them look like something else, but it has never been stated that Ophelia and Emilia had any romantic or sexual feelings towards each other. So even though most of the commenters here don’t like ML or subMLs it doesn’t mean it’s fine to imply a different level of FL-s relationship when there was nothing of that kind. And I’m just curious which country considers an emotional affair as adultery in court? How can a process built on considering only physical evidence even try to squeeze emotional connection into the evidence category? Hard to imagine a court session discussing someone’s possible emotional cheating while there are no devices to read people’s minds yet.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I thought the depth of Emilia and Ophelia's bond could be read either way: sisterly/platonic or romantic. Of all Emilia and Ophelia's relationships, theirs was the most authentic so even though the author didn't intent to imply that their relationship was romantic, there's enough subtext that I understand why people could want to read it that way. Especially when all the MLs understand Emilia so superficially. Personally I'm with Jinmanhwa, Emilia/Happiness. Sorry to add more discussion, but I couldn't resist putting my two cents. I feel like the problem of many Kr novels is the demanding of MLs from readers, that's why many authors force a made-from-cardboard males into their stories. It's like: "happy" = "love(-and-marry)-a-handsome-rich-guy-who-simp-you-so-hard-he-would-castrate-himself-instead-of-loving-any-other-woman"
Romantic relationship implies that there’s some level of courtship with an intent to get into sexual relationship at some point. There was none of this in the interactions between FL-s. I don’t understand why people would downgrade real friendship by implying romantic feelings. Is it that strange that 2 people care for each other without any additional sexual tension? If Ophelia and Emilia were real sisters or closer relatives would people still ship them? Yikes
I agree. I wish we got more manhwas where the FL doesn’t end up with anyone. Because marriage and children isn’t the only formula for happiness.
