China has decided to ban tattoos from their national football/soccer team. That means that players will need to have all their tattoos removed to play for them. I feel sorry for guys like this: upload_2021-12-30_21-41-39.jpeg

    Let’s be fair!

We all knew it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Nah, they just want their athletes' bodies to be cleaned so that they can tattoo "serve the country with the utmost loyalty" and other CCP propagandas like billboards.

What happens if you have a tattoo of the president's face and under it saying how great he is? Do you need to destroy his face to play soccer?

    yeaa suuureeeee.
how about you shut the fuck up?

it's the whole point of clean appearance. like how in office or sales service you can't have a tattoo that's easily seen during work. bad image representation. anything under the t shirt i presume is fine. but those that can easily be seen is not.
and this ain't a china only rule/ every country with a private business has rules like these.

    Oh you hate tattoos~
Clean body is required when you work in a big firm...but players are free to do it...it's considered kinda cool by their fans~

Feel bad for them. I'd have said if they all boycott it, China will change its mind, except it is so big it will find remplacements for sure. A pity. Guess they'll have to rely on fans kicking up an online storm against the decision.

I know countries all have rules that seem strange to those outside that country. This issue comes down to a culture preference. Having a visible tattoo doesn't look unprofessional in most countries, nor does it have a bad image. Some countries yes Japan and most Muslim countries.

ye and no. i like small ones, with meaning. big ones that just "make you look cool" are actually trash. like smoking

even small firms have these rules. depending on the firm but still, small firms can also do it.
considered cool by certain fans. not cool by others. not gonna debate that.
the chinese national football team is paid by.. you guessed it. the government. they can impose rules, whether you like them or not.

Here's the thing though, these players are supposed to represent their country. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it may be hard to judge whether some tattoos are trashy or artistic. It's much easier for them to just have a blanket ban. I don't really care whether the players have tattoos but I can understand their government's reasons for doing so.

That probably would have no effect. The government would probably just send the army of bots to leave comments criticizing them for caring more about tattoos than their country and make them out to be bad guys. They could also just delete all the negative posts and control the narrative through the media.
