Why just China? Do you honestly believe someone's nationality would magically cause them to behave differently from people of other countries? Humans are the same everywhere. In fact, billionaires in China are probably less "arrogant" than their counterparts in the US because of how oppressive their government are.

Jeffrey Epstein is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's true of all countries. Or rather, if a country didn't let its billionaires do whatever they want, the billionaires would just move to a different country that does let them do whatever they want, or they would bribe lawmakers or just get someone elected who will do what they want.

Even honest politicians (let's just pretend they exist) would find it hard to act against someone who is helping fund their area's hospitals and schools with donations, or providing thousands of excellent jobs to residents, etc. There's a need to weigh "justice for the bad things" and "losing all the good things". And that's just from the perspective of the good guys in politics...

Suppose nice/non-corrupt billionaire/politicians exist, would we be able to tell?
    Public opinion
    If do (bad):
    Then "outcry"
    If else do (good):
    Then "doubt"
    Else :
    Then "who?"

Chinese billionaires must have friends in the government to keep their property from being confiscated. They are respected because of who they know, not what they have. If their friends lose power, their wealth can disappear overnight.

I disagree with the last part. I would change it to Else: Then "Not a nice/non-corrupt billionaire/politicians" :)

There was that Chinese military general who ended up on the wrong side of the political scuffle and a corruption cleanup, after they raided his house ten or more trucks went to his house to haul bank note money hidden away. Had his friends won they'd have allowed him to quietly fall in line, if they targeted him for corruption search at all.

I've wondered about this as well. But you know what? The CCP's choke hold over everything that their citizens see, read, hear, experience is so strong that its impossible for them to let anything through even in novels that they don't want to let through.

Because I remember how there would be chapters.. entire novels suspended or deleted! Simply because the author had a pornographic or erotic romance plot flowering towards the end. OR - some police officer or govt. employee (character) brought to bad light by the novel. Creating a bad impression of those.. so the way I see it. They want the common people to constantly be dubious of the rich. So that the govt. can use them to suppress them in case they get out of hand. Because you know how things go there! Jack Ma and a lot of CEO's there are examples of how they don't want things getting out of their control.

So if I think about, I'll tell you what my educated guess on this is. Yes! There are definitely some rich people who do bad things by using leverage of their money and connections to do things that are not right. But that isn't all the rich people. Just like how even among the poor or the middle-class people, there are good and bad. Its the same for the rich! They also have their good and bad.. just a matter of how many are good and how many are bad!

Hollywood is a good example, most are controlled by blackmailing, usually evolving pedo or homo or even both.

The stories authored by chinese writers need to follow Social Credit Scoring guidelines if they're set in modern times.

The rich and powerful don't get that way by giving away their advantages in a dog eat dog world. If the entire planet was populated only by genuinely nice and sincerely helpful people, then you could have nice billionaires - because 100% of all people are guaranteed to not be violently greedy. Unfortunately, influence peddling exists. That's how politicians in powerful positions can make additional money beyond the basic bribery and blackmail methods. Nancy Pelosi has 120 million dollars and of course that surely didn't come from her "low paying" job as a member of the House of Representatives. Politicians legally collect "bribes" by creating non-profit 501c charities to which corporations and rich individuals can donate tax-deductable contributions of any amount. Of course, the control of the NPC 501c is by family members of that politician. What good is this when the politicians can't collect the bribe directly? Well, the person in charge can order the NPC 501c to hire your daughter to perform a charitable service of mowing a section of a public park for $50,000. Naturally, the NPC also provides the riding lawnmower and assistants to take away grass clippings and sweep the grounds. You feel so happy that you use your position in the Ways and Means Committee to attach that guy's pork barrel rider onto a "must pass" bill. Oops, you need the President's signature to appoint someone (to whom you owe favors) to a federal judge position, so you tell your wife and daughter to have the NPC 501c purchase a garishly ugly painting from the President's son for $450,000.

    money= power and connections
I grew up in a very wealthy town. The amount of hush money given to my high school alone is insane. Wealthy billionaires are scary as adults but they have nothing on kids. Teenage kids who grew up with money and no consequences have no limits. And they always end up going to ivys and great colleges through connections.
