Tried this today, it was gross. Had a weird after taste. I tried cooking with it and was fighting the weird after taste. Does anyone like it? Or is there a different brand I should try? I normally use oatly, when cooking for those who cannot digest milk. Someone bought me pea abomination because it was supposedly better for the environment. I was fighting and lost to the aftertaste I everything I made.
I like rice (basic), soy (the voluptuous texture is great) and oat (it's soft) vegetal milk. I hate millet. Try out more kinds to find out which ones you like Maybe you'll like the nut milks more, like hazelnut or chestnut. Chestnut taste a bit like chocolate, it's tasty! And it depends on the brand too, some have recipes than stand out admists the other milks.
I like coconut milk the best. Almond in a pinch. And as few brand names as possible. For some reason the more branding they have the more I feel there's a weird aftertaste. It's like their trying to hard.
Milk is a vague term, I don't bother with non dairy milks because the only thing I'd use it on would be cereals, and I'm not exactly tolerant to cereals either lol... luckily I'm fine with bread.
If you want to grow tits and shrink your balls, soy. Almond is probably the worst eco but tastes the best. Most of them are basically worthless in nutrition unless artificially added back in. Real milk or just no milk. Get that vegan shit out of here
i agree with this. i never buy branded milk, the processing leave a strange aftertaste or it's too watery. I only buy those local produced freshly.
You could prolly try making nut milk at home and it's easy and able to be made with just a blender, there's a lot of help you could find on google about the how to too so nut milk is a good alternative for those allergic to regular dairy unless they're also allergic to nuts.
eh~ this cat only ever taste soy milk.... btw coconut milk is for cooking here, this cat hear there type coconut milk for drink purpose but never try it~ still, traditionally this cat culture not really have dairy milk on our diet~ the milk popular cuz tv ads formula milk make your children potentially smarter while mother breast milk is good for baby immune system more so the early breast milk produced right after baby born~ breastfeeding also good to create bond between mother and child so if it is possible please give your baby breastfeeding~ this ads given by local healthcare worker on baby and mother health program run by government back then~ dun dun dundun~
I thought Ripple was almost palatable compared with everything else I tried, if I remember correctly. Still, lactose free dairy milk is the only one that doesn’t make me gag.
Making milk is fun for a treat. I just don't want to do it every time I need something. Sometimes is nice to open the fridge and have what I need right there. Like being in the middle of a baking recipe and just needed a splash. That's not the time to be pulling out the blender and taking a dull butchers knife to a coconut.
I like the taste of almond, coconut, oat and rice based milks. Soya always tasted a bit off to me. From what I've seen, different people prefer different types and it's all about finding what's more suitable for your pallet. I mainly use dairy but occasionally I go with alternatives.
My go to milk to drink is rice. Almond for coffee. Coconut for cooking. Haven’t found one for baking maybe cashew? And I avoid hemp milk. Too intense
It's not about being vegan. I know people who are lactose intolerant and even the lactose free milk either gives the bad diarrhea. or has them throwing up everywhere. A lot of recipes call for cream or milk or even cheese. Some are very unhappy about not being able to digest milk. Milk and cookies isn't the same, I've been told. Yeah making it from scratch would be too hard. Especially if I'm already making a bunch of other things. Convenience is key here. I avoid tree nuts as my mother is very allergic. I don't want to risk any cross contamination. Never tried hemp milk. Which ripple did you try? The original or the vanilla or the chocolate? What brand of soy milk do you drink? What brand of soy milk do you like?
Bonneterre They have a large variety of milks and it's generally tasty (and they are bio and equitable, although they have been acquired by Monsanto in recent years) Have you tried buckweat milk? It’s a strong taste, but some love it, especially for salty dishes.
