How tf was the romance pulled out of no where?
He was a lonely teenager who finally got a girl his age that kept him company for months, so their connection is valid after all they did live, ate and slept together for many months in the early chapters so where did you draw that conclusion from?
You should read properly before giving your opinions instead of assuming and comparing it with other manhua, manhwa

Sorry to burst your bubble but the romance is shit.
Just because you like a story does not make it free from criticism.
The plot is also very contrived. The protagonist 's motivations seem forced too. The story feels too shallow.
You might like it but let's not pretend it's some masterpiece.

It isn't. It is just mindless action. Pretty disappointing for a Murim/Wuxia novel.
The protagonist in Escort Warrior is more relatable. He has more depth.

This story is just a power fantasy disguised as Murim/Wuxia

I’ve always seen you talking shit about everything in different threads with 80% based on assumptions, 10% actual reading and 10% opinions
It’s the reason I stopped reading your translation works

I think he dies from there. He probably succumbed to his wounds. Though it's safe to say that the gear of fate was started in motion because of him, and he redeemed himself by staying behind and even managed to kill a lot including a lesser Nine Sky person and it is usually the death of one that improves everybody's state of mind. So although i feel bad i have so much respect for him.

Is this story related to the same universe of the other works of the author?
I know that Demon Fist of Mount Hua, Martial artist Lee Gwak and Reaper of the drifting moon are set in the same murim world and that they are chronologically told as I’ve just listed.
This is story and Memoir of the king of war seems unrelated to the other stories. Can someone explain to me if all of these are connected?
Also are there other great murim novel worth to read?
Premise: I’ve read Nano Machine, Return to the mount Hua sect , I’ve been reading almost every murim manhwa from various group scanlators like Asura, luminous, Realm etc. so if there are other hidden gem stories can someone recommend some of it. Thanks.

I love that it doesn't focus too much on romance (off screen leave to imagination) but focus on an objective driven plot. The only thing I dont like is how the author treated him in his finances (dependent on others). Other than that, this is nice action pack story for me 7.5/10

Legend of the Northern Blade and the Memoir of the king of war are stand alone novel so far, the author might or might not decide to write a sequel in the future. The fist demon, Lee gwak and Reaper of the drifting moon all occur in the same murim world but separated by 100 year gaps between them. They are 3 novels which are interconnected, each major plot occurs because of the events in the previous novel. So even if author writes a sequel for the northern blade, there is a very low change Jin Mu Won appears in it. A new murim recommendation is Unrivaled Villain, dope art and a unique storyline but it's only 26 chapters right now.

So yeah I just rushed to end chapters, if you're not ready for ending then don't open it

its a war between 3 leading factions of the Murim, Northern Heavenly Sect, the Unjungcheon-Central Heavenly Alliance by the main antagonist Muyong Yul-Cheon (leader of 9 skies) and the Changcheonmun Gate, faction led by Dam Su Cheon (fist guy) where there's a fight between the Northern Blade illusionist Hajin Wol vs Seo Moon, a girl illusionist, lover of DamSu Cheon, it's actually a 2nd round between them since the girl had beaten Hajin before, there's also a fight between our female lead Eun Ha Sol vs Muyong San Chun, the hidden 2nd hand of the antagonist, elder of CentHeavAllia, a part of Muyong family, our girl is now the full successor of the Night Witch. In this war, North Blade forces clashes with the alliance forces of Central Heavenly Alliance and Changcheonmun, Eun Ha led an ambush force to the base of CentHeavAllia where she won and easily kills the Muyong Elder, Hajin led the North Blade forces in the mainland war, he also beats Seo Moon in the illusion battle where the girl is at Hajins mercy.

During these 2 fights, our MC Jin Mu Won fought Muyong Yul Cheon in an island, where the fight destroyed half of the island, in their clash, MC decapitates a hand of Sul Cheon, where antagonist is shocked af by mc strength bec he can't accept anyone stronger than him (god complex), so he goes all out in a final full forced attack, MC also used his greatest attacked, in the result, Mu Won is heavily wounded, lost his sword where only the hilt is left and Sul Cheon is on death wheezes where only his head and torso left, fatally wounded, he goes the 1st phases of denial, he can't accept he lost, he claims he will live, never dies, he is the strongest and cannot be killed and lost his final breath with an open bloodied eyes (friggin finally, this fvcker dies rofl), mc meditates to at least restore some strength.

Just after the fight between Hajin vs Seo Moon, Dam Su arrives and saves Seo Moon, he goes to finish the Hajin but our mc arrives and stops Dam Su, he tries to reason with Dam Su, saying the war have no value and there's nothing to gain from it since MC already killed Muyong Yul Cheon, Dam Su Cheon is surprised since he claims that he will be the one to kill Yul Cheon, its revealed (well obviously) he only allied with Yul Cheon CentHeavAlllia so he can fight the main antagonist later but since mc already killed him, Su Cheon claims he'll take revenge on mc because he killed his father which MC says that was not true and yknow it was just Yul Cheon lying, Su Cheon knows it but acts unreasonable and still wants to fight so he goes after mc, at this point our mc is still wounded with no weapon since he lost his sword in his fight with Yul Cheon, he picks up a branch and used it to fight Su Cheon, mind you, Su Cheon is at his peak and Jin Mu is wounded but actually already mastered the Thousand Shadows(he is the strongest being atm), the fights end with Mu Won destroying Su Cheon heart (im sad on this part) it was revealed that Su Cheon had fallen to the evil side in his journey to have strength to change the world, Yul Cheon planted an evil thought in his mind that slowly broke him inside (basically he is other side mc, they have rivalry relationship with mc) and had fallen too deep in his seeking of power (he might have committed atrocious acts, not sure, you can back read the chapters) so he insistently fights the mc so he can die, his last sentiments to the mc, he says he had gone too far in his wrong path, it was too late to return, he regrets allying with Yul Cheon, that if theres reincarnation and they'll meet again. Here are the part of Su Cheon last moments, mtl ver for your own enjoyment

I think I had a dream. A long dream that will disappear after spring... … .”
    Damsucheon closed his eyes.
His life passed by like a flashlight.
He had no regrets in his life, which started from the ghoul. Except for one thing.
“If I were like you, what would have happened if I had broken through head-to-head without going into the band like you? The only regret in my life is that I held hands with Mo Yong Yulcheon. I made up my mind to destroy what I thought was a great evil from the inside out. Because of that, I also regret that at some point I too became tainted with evil.”
By the time he came to his senses, he had already gone too far. It was too late to go back, so even though I knew it was the wrong way, I had no choice but to go to the end.
    “Dam Daehyeop?”
“Still, I enjoyed living in the same era as Jin Mun-ju. If we meet in the next life, then I will regret like you... … I will challenge you by walking on a path that is not there. Then the new name... … Let's play.”

So yeah, its a bit heartbreakin but expected end for him. Seo Moon his lover cannot accept his death so she does a blade on heart suicide when Mu Won turned his back. She cannot live without Su Cheon, mc can only sigh. Northern Heavenly Sect led by Unjungcheon (mc private army, the 1st guy who served our mc led this force) forces and beaten the two factions, Muyong Yul Cheon atrocities were revealed to the world, his creation of Silent Night, his back hand at the crimes committed by them, his machinations in controlling the murim through war and false peace, creation of Double Headed Asura, orders of crimes and to replace Silent Night, so the remaining forces of Central Heavenly Alliance were besieged by all Murim Sects, big and small, since all their heavy weights died in the war, they cannot fight back, the CentHeavAllia were basically erased in the murim world, as well as those powerhouses (clans of nine skies) that are loyal to Muyong Clan and has reaped benefits in their ruling was also slowly decimated, only weak and handful ran away and escaped. The murim were afraid of the new power, Northern Heavenly Sect cuz they are afraid of Mu Won's revenge since almost all sects supported the betrayal of four generals and death of his father, but NHS promises not the interfere in the world and will stay at the north. In the next 5 years, the murim sects visited the NHS but found no one and nothing is staying there. But the legend of the true powerhouse still remains so no evil sects will appear in fear of the true ruler of murim.

At the epilogue, in that 5 years, Mc family is actually living somewhere, the princess(mcs daughter) is already a teenager and the whole mc crew meets up again, they're actually meeting up every year, like a reunion. And thats it.
