I have been reading Chinese and Korean novels since I was 13. I am now newly 23 and I have gotten really tired of the same clichés, bad writing, and bad translation works. I would like recommendations on books that won't lower my IQ anymore than they already have. Genre doesn't matter but I have a particular love for fantasy, and historical novels with European-inspired settings ('Who Made Me a Princess' type beat). Please, I'm on my knees. Give me every good novel with sincerely good writing, grammar and plot. Please...
Try this 2 novel I'm currently reading https://www.novelupdates.com/series/mediterranean-hegemon-of-ancient-greece/ Probably the best kingdom building novel I've ever read. A kingdom building story in the ancient Greece era. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/41330/virtuous-sons Another gem. A cultivation novel but in the greco mediterranean setting.
D-Genesis is good but it is set in modern Japan. Cuttlefish That Loves Diving usually writes decent novels. Throne of Magical Arcana and Lord of the Mysteries are examples.
Plague doctor Soul of Negary Mediterranean Hegemon of Ancient Greece Are novels id put up there with Reverend Insanity or Lord of the Mysteries
I like this one : https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/51175/spirits-awakening No cliché, the author isn't a native though.
The exhausting reality of novel transmigration the title is self explanatory Shadowless Night this novel has like the cutest MC ever...am pretty sure this is not clique...I would love to read more of these stuff if it's plot actually became a clique TT I would be spoiling the story a bit if I give the reason as to why the MC is just so adorbs Life as a Tower Maid: Locked up with the Prince not sure if this is clique but the ML and MC's relationship makes it very fun to read and it has the same translator with the first novel I recommended, that guy's translations are good and the novel that translator picks are good too...
Skyclad Morgan Mackenzie had a very bad day. First at work, then at home, and then her bathtub fell through a portal to another world, with her in it. Now she's stuck thousands of miles from any sort of civilization with nothing but the bathtub and a lace puffball scrubby. But she learned magic, so that's sorta nice. Now if only she could find some clothes... Azarinth Healer A new world with nearly unlimited possibilities. A status, classes, magic and monsters. Sounds good? Well, for Ilea it didn't come quite as expected as for some other protagonists, nor was there a king or god to welcome her. The grand quest? Well, she might figure that out someday but for now, a new world with new food is prize enough. Her fists at the ready, she's prepared to punch and get punched, however long it takes and however many limbs she might have to regrow. Everybody Loves Large Chests Large chests are said to encompass all manner of hopes and dreams. Men covet them. Women envy them. - The Wandering Inn by pirateaba An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, or a place to find adventures, a starting ground for quests and legends. In this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she found, and so that’s what she becomes. An innkeeper who serves drinks to heroes and monsters– Actually, mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right? This is the story of the Wandering Inn. - Summoned Again? Medusa and the Blind Woman (Royalroad) It's about Medusa and a blind priestress. So, yeah it's set in the old Greek times. The story mainly focuses on the two characters mentioned in the title, but there's lots of nice historical details and there are some chapters that have different POVs. I guess the main genre would be something like adventure and drama. The early chapters are about them being stuck on the island together but they don't stay there forever. The characters feel developed and they never really feel like they do stuff because the writer wanted them to. Bonus if you're anything like me: lots of tidbits about Greek history and mythology. Warning though, not much romance if that's something you prefer to have in your stories. I picked it up because I wanted to read historical romance, but even despite that, it was such a good read that I binged it in a week.
