It has been a while since I read but it's probably a new translation, its not something new, sometimes the new translator just do w/e he wants after getting a novel that's already being translated.
Just move on to another novel that has a stable translation quality. Not much you can do there, I once dropped a novel because it kept changing terms in a span of a few chapters. It read like there were atleast 4 translators translating that thing with no coordination/communication whatsoever.
