Well, I read this some time ago so my memory is hazy but from what I remember, Mc has a disease where he can only be awake for two hours a day, he follows the butterfly in his spirit form to the world of Seth where they communicate. Seth traps him by creating a body for him and then trapping his soul in a jar? and putting his soul in the body. Mc can't go back. He needs to rely on Seth's bodily fluids for his body to get energy and survive, He is tied to Seth's life so if Seth dies, he dies too.
