Holy Moly, didn't saw that coming Spoiler: the one who killed Adrienne The Crown Princess kidnapped FL, she already saw that coming, but she need to find out the spy, so she let herself got kidnapped, it's the Headmaid, she is a pro Assassin, but it seem OG Blier know some fighting skill so FL was surprised when she could easily defend and attack her back with a knife the ML gift her as self defense, then the ML came to the rescue but the spy stabbed FL in the chaos and she got injured and in coma for days, he tortured the headmaid so she is confessed, it was the Crown Princess order to isolate and bully Adrienne in the grand duchy, but she is not the one who poisoned her, the Crown Princess is the kind of person who rather torment her slowly and watch her dying. Skip to the Emperor banquet, FL is still weak but she need to attend, she want to met her husband to ask for her mother necklace, her husband has been exiled to the north under the pretext he is the one who responsible for the disappearance of Emperor Mistress and several other madams and wife (the ML has no evidence but since all the case happen in the Grand Duke estate, he just painted him as the culprit) , but because of FL kidnapping case (they linked her kidnapping with the others case), there is a lot of rumor that real culprit is the ML and he framed his uncle, since it was the Emperor birthday the husband could visit the palace to met with the Emperor, she is waiting in the garden where she met her husband for the first time, she was sure he would visit here before he is returning to the north, and it really is, he then hugged FL and started nonsense that he is the only one who could make her happy, the 2nd Prince would abandoned her, blah blah blah, the FL is coldly cut him off to give her mother necklace, the husband hardened, it's convinced him further that she is real Adrienne, so he is kneeling and grabbed her skirt, then the drunken CP, he reprimanded his uncle and told his knight to took him away, that's when FL saw her mother necklace hanging from the CP neck, she was so shocked and follow him, she threatened the escort to let her enter his bedroom, but she found no one, she stumbled and accidentally knock on the Empress portrait then a secret door revealed, she followed the downstairs leading to the basement, she saw there is a luxury exhibition hall with, chandeliers, fountain and line up glass coffins, there the Crown Prince with a hard-on stroking Adrienne coffin, next to Adrienne body FL recognize the Emperor mistress body along with others woman, the FL was frozen in fear but she manage to ask him why, the CP with innocent faces and twinkling eyes gladly show off his collection, 'yeah I killed her, isn't she more beautiful if she was dead', crazy, he couldn't love the living things so he is been killing married woman and make them his doll so he could love them The husband is not really innocent in her death after all, I'm not sure yet, but it seem he is aware (and likely the henchmen) about the crazy psycho CP perverted 'Hobby'

Spoiler He loves his wife, but he can't touch her since she bedridden almost all the time so he is lusted over the mistress who very much identical with her but have different personality, he never loved the mistress but after his wife possessed her, he is confused since he kinda saw his wife in her, but he have no intention to marry her, so then the FL kinda provoked him 'If you don't make me grand duchess, I'll choose the 2nd prince then', she publicly showing off her closeness with the ML, then the husband killed the Og mistress husband as a warning, so the FL approached the Crown Princess (she is in odds with the Crown Prince, although they marred but they always keep each other in check), the Crown Prince threatened by his FIL then told the husband to took the FL as his wife for now to appease his FIL, but the husband didn't announce it to the public, he use the excuse 'bridal lesson' to postpone the wedding, the FL only want to enter the grand duchy to search the clue of her death. When she search her old bedroom, the husband entered so she hides, there she saw her husband breaking down crying missing her, but her heart became colder at the sight so she approached him, her husband think he saw a hallucination of his dead wife and started bawling his heart out, she ask him why did you kill me, but the husband only muttered nonsense, the next day she threatened the doctor 'I know what you did' cause she sense there is something wrong with the husband, the doctor confess the husband has been taking strong sedatives but if it combines with strong liquor it could cause hallucination. She used that fact to enter the bedroom every night, she comforted her 'drunken' husband and kinda brainwash him to open his heart to the mistress and be happy, she kinda disgusted seeing her husband relief faces as if he has been given forgiven, so during the day the FL show her caring and affectionate attitude toward him just like Adrienne did, so the husband start to fall in love with her. After the FL got all the evidence of his scheme to bring him down, she also send the letter to her family as the mistress, her brother and sister in law loved her dearly, so they won't stay still knowing the husband have a mistress, and since she is in the mistress body, her family would hate her but she has no choice. During Adrienne funeral, her family comes and beat the husband, then it revealed to the public he has a mistress and has been living with her while his wife dead body laying cold in the basement, but the husband didn't really care he lose his hard-earned reputation, he look like someone who lose the whole world at the funeral, but as soon as he got home, he look at the FL like a hungry beast and told her to get ready (after the funeral end, he would have sex with her, that's the deal, the first thing Adrienne hears after she wake up in the mistress body), The FL than wore Adrienne favorite dress, jewel, and make up and wait in her old bedroom, she drop the bomb that she is real Adrienne
Spoiler: who killed adrienne so, by reading the novel via MTL, the one who killed her is Doris, the crown princess. apparently, she is also in love with the ML. Spoiler: the reason why adrienne got married to novian it was all the crown prince’s plan. he wanted Adrienne to be his crown princess. however, he knew that she was in love with his brother. so, he made a deal with Adrienne’s father, the Duke. he plans to make Doris his Empress and make Adrienne the Grand Duchess. at first, her father seems a bit hesitant. but he agreed later on since her daughter, Adrienne will be in the center of power (being married to the Grand Duke and the woman of the Emperor at the same time) the Crown Prince even promised that there won’t be a child between him and Doris, only him and Adrienne. Spoiler she eventually got her body back. i don’t know how accurate this is since i’m only reading the MTL version but if i understood it correctly the mistress’s body is dead and she’s already in her own since her body didn’t really die. so technically, she only switched bodies with the mistress. Thank god she gets her OG body back. Also for others to tell the difference. The mistress body has a mole under her eye while the FL og body has no moles. I think someone said their eye color is different that wrong they have same eye color, they really do look alike so if yall what tell the key difference, it's the mole. Took me awhile because I was so confused at chapter 142 but chapter 107 kinda cleared it, so from what I could understand is that FL let the mistress take her place as Adrienne (FL name). The mistress wakes up in her own body in ch.142 and everyone believes it's Adrienne but I think later on the mistress dyes her hair back to black And from what I can tell FL and ML only start getting touchy and intimate when FL gets her og body back
Ngl the black haired mistress is more pretty than the blonde FL maybe is a thing of personal preferences ( I am a sucker for silver haired guys and black haired ladies type of stories )
