Discussion What’s your go to handshake? Especially, after Covid.

I’m going to be visiting some family and I was wondering how should I shake their hands or what. What do you guys do?

 

I just do the head bob
At work I just suck it up and shake my bosses hands and then chop my hands off right afterwards

 

not a guy but when i was in engg and surrounded by guys, the most usual ones are fist bumps and the one with a bro hug.

 

I don't shake hands with family but if I were to, it'd just be a normal handshake. One firm pump, articles say!

 

Go "yo yo yo, wazzaup" and do the weird paganistic rapper hand gestures. Not only are you going to greet them, but you will also be probably disowned and shunned by your family, making you more secure, social-distancing style. Two birds with one stone!

You can also go "ohayo, okaa-san, otou-san!", which is arguably more effective

 

I usually just hug and give a kiss on the cheek. I don't hand shakes in general.

 

Covid is ending but it won't be the last pandemic. If humans could just abolish this silly tradition, I am sure plenty of lives could be saved in the future. But hey, people want to touch each other and that's more important than human lives.

 

Firmly grab hand, lock eyes... pull hard, forceful french kiss, with a little bit of face licking afterwards... some motorboating can happen depending on mood (NOT APPROPRIATE ON FUNERALS)...

Of course, I'm kidding; no handshake I usually just say hello and a bit of that hand motion Kamen Rider Hibiki used to do... unless it's a female (close) friend, a hug and kiss on the cheek then...

Culture wise if it's relatives you give a quick hug to men and kiss on the cheek with a quick hug to women that is the norm at least to Latinos.

to friends it depends on how close the man is you as a friend for normal friends a fist bump or hand shake for your best or closest friends a bro hug and for women it is still a kiss on the cheek with a quick hug.

for stranger and relative that are distant a hand shake maybe a quick hug for a relative, but probably a hand shake. woman always get a kiss on the cheek and a quick hug.

Around me it’s fist bumps everywhere, even among uncles meeting their uncle friends

 

Raising my right hand up into the air like I'm spazzing out or just a normal handshake if I'm close with them
