That's the question... Please share your life motto. Thank you! Edit adding mine: "The nails that stick out get hammered down, but the one stick way too out will be pulled out. Just do your best." - Yuzuru Hanyu "Effort may lie, but it will never be in vain." - Yuzuru Hanyu
The way to success is made of 1 part talent and 9 parts hard work! Spoiler: joke ...and 90 parts looks
Originally, I liked this one: “Tomorrow owes you the sum of your yesterdays. No more than that. And no less.” But then I learned life is unfair. So now I am a driftwood afloat at sea, motto-less. I do like this one though: Done is better than perfect.
By "looks ", are you referring to attractiveness or the way an individual is perceived? Also, sorry for kinda ruining the joke.
Mine has always been: Whatever goes around, comes around. Then the pandemic hit and life, shit, and everything went crazy. So I added another one: If you’re going through hell, keep going.
The golden rule “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” Hammurabi’s law “an eye for an eye”
All is for the best in the best of all possible worlds— not a motto I abide by one whit, but it does give me a good laugh every time I recollect the context it was used in and the events it had to justify, and that— having a good laugh at silly, unfounded optimism— is my creed.
I tend to have two. I am the person i pretend to be. And You lose if you mind it. To much stress in todays world, so if you let it, it will drive you insane. And I've given up trying to figure out who or even what i am, so i'll just fake it till something better comes along.
What will be, will be. You only have true control over yourself and your reactions. Everything else is influence. So why worry about what you can't control or influence?
I don't have any motto in particular, but I do strive each day to become my own ideal self... Does that count? If I had to just take a quote and put it as my motto, I guess it would be... "Tomorrow Will Be Special, Yesterday Was Not", which is the title of a Touhou Song... To me, this means that we should look forward to each day that comes ahead of us and try our best to make it be special... While the past is just the past. They're memories and they're part of us, but the special part of our lives is the future ahead of us, not those memories that we often dwell in.
