Given two choices, where you live with great pay, working from 9 AM to 9 PM 6 days a week and maybe working on sunday if deadline is close, highly competitive environment, and high turnover in the company or livable wage with some savings, good work-life balance working at 8 to 5, working culture which is supportive to your mental health, which is preferable to you?

Definitely 8 to 5 and I don't need to think twice about it.

I like money, but my mental sanity comes first.

I choose good work-life balance working at 8 to 5. ,but different workload with the same pay make me more envious and feel injustice

    Been there, done that.
Having gone through that, I've come to realize that my mental health (and overall happiness) should really come first.:blobexpressionless::blobangery::blobdevil::confusedcatblob::blobtaco:

If I could, even less than 8 hrs.
But I'm an artist, 16hr days are sometimes the norm for a week on end. Others days it none. Good pay is a dream.
I'd work a normal job but it would kill me inside and then what's the point of having money?
Also, please give me two cookies.

When it mattered i was always erred on the side of long term benefits. Paid more taxes into for a larger return, worked longer hours so that i had more money on my days off and could take longer vacations. Saved money for the inevitable broken appliance or vehicle.

So eating the cookie dough now might be ok for some, but i much prefer a having a whole batch of cookies later to eat at my convenience.

There is a lot of factors not put in, such as travelling time from house to work, mode of transport, benefits and incentives from work to promote productivity such as OT pay, free medical and subsidized dental.

But overall, I am on the 855 plan.

Also, I waited from the second cookie, but how long must one wait?

Just like wise people say, money can't buy happiness but not having any money also can not be called happiness too.

So if I choose 8 to 5 and having minimal income to do everything until I'm ... 50 or 60 with good mentality but poor health because dont have enough money to live a good life and still cannot live freely with small saving in old age.
I might choose the 996, and work hard so I can save more and then retire early and be free in my 50s with good numbers in my bank account to fix what old age will bring and just be the crazy cat lady with no worry of tomorrow.

#$%^& All these are even better than what I have already! Can I change jobs?

16 hour work days on a 2 day on, one day off cycle and for that fucking extra 8 hours I get paid 30 bucks. And that was supposed to be for "taxi fare". 8 months of that shit is more than enough.

If you are not working, get ready for shit like this. Working life is fucking hell.

You can earn money in every way, but you can't buy happiness. So, your choice...

You can. You can always change jobs, especially if you don't have many bills to pay or if you don't have anyone (other than yourself) that you are responsible for~

You can still do it if you have bigger responsibilities, but you need to be more cautious about it... Still doable though~

In any case, I'd say work life isn't that bad. Work itself is actually fun. The hard part is defeating my ADHD daily to do work~

Oi, the first option isn't rich at all, you're still a corporate slave. :blobcat_rawr: In fact, it wouldn't even be considered middle class. :hmm:

Have you checked your local labour laws? If you're being forced by your employer, I am sure that much is illegal in a lot of countries.
