This novel is heartwarming. There were a lot of little things you could learn from it. And surprisingly that's what we need now. It reminds you of the simple time you spent as a child. The hearty meal made by your grandmother or mother. The simple joy of cultivating the food you eat and all the steps to it. It was so good to put the farm next the imperial Palace where there were the people who need to know about such joy. There is this part the ml finally succumbed to his hunger and ate without minding anyone

Honestly the premise is very silly and i couldn't get over it. This is fantasy but it needs to be somewhat grounded in reality for it to be something other than pure comedy. The story tries to normalize nonsensical things as if someone like her could get a land next to the emperor's place and as if every competent person really changes their mind thank to a couple of bites she gives them.

I think I might just not be the demographic for this because I could see myself enjoying this when I was like 7 so maybe that's it.

 

I had the same problem with this novel setting, it’s very unrealistic and probably suited only for a younger audience who don’t need to know yet about bureaucrats or ownership rights, which is the main issue here for me.

In real life MC as the owner of the land has all rights to sell it at any price she wants or decide to not sell it at all. And no one has the right to shame her for this, or take her land away without compensation which will be extortion, or making her life miserable just because she exercises her legal rights regarding her property.

The royal family is rich enough to fairly compensate MC. When someone wants to get property in a good neighbourhood they have to offer a fair price for it. Even a hobbit hut would cost a lot if it is located in a rich neighbourhood, so why are they all making a fuss about her choice not to sell her run down house in a “good neighbourhood”?

It is the palace workers mistake not to track the owner early on to get them sell the land before any construction work starts and it becomes a part of the royal palace. Why should MC suffer because of their poor judgment and think about tricks to bring people to her side to protect her legal property?

I’ve heard so many stories about similar extortion schemes by rich construction companies in different countries, that it makes me very angry that the story shows the same attitude from an emperor who is supposed to be a nice and fair ruler and a tender hearted ML. It is hard to switch from his image of a stubborn greedy rich man in power to a romantic hero and a love interest.

 

Lol same, sometimes you just need a simple, light-hearted story like this as a way to take a break from all the drama from other stories lmaoo. I can only take so much heartbreak and anger and so I need stories like these to keep me sane
