You probably need to read between the lines to guess as most of his reasons are hinted while very few (the obvious ones) are mentioned. It was spoiled...

Basically, he took Shuli because :
    (1) He found out she was a bright and intelligent person who could take care of the March and his family when he dies.
    (2) She was young and had a good character which would make her be liked by her children and she would not misuse his wealth.
    (3) She is basically a child so she doesn't have hidden ulterior motives like all normal adults and nobles.
    (4) He kinda pitied her and decided to give her a better life albeit one she gains through her efforts and sacrifices as she resembled his first love and reminded him of the deceased empress.
    (5) Her appearance resembles the former empress and this would make the king and Duke reminisce about the dead empress and Shuli's similarities with her would make emperor and Duke help and protect her. In consequence, the marquis family would have some backing and help too.

Reshelieu is really disgusting and completely nuts in the head.

    Chapter 2- A Winter's Dream (1)

Wittelsbach, the capital of Kaiserreich The parliament, which consists of seven prominent cardinals who can fit in their fingers, like the six heads of noble families residing in the capital of Kaiserreich, discusses various laws and matters of national importance, and the imperial family and the Vatican have the right to petition and appeal to

At first glance, the two sides seem to represent the emperor and the supreme authority, but in reality, they were tightly entangled like a spider's web with the interests of each individual's teeth. Sitting in the nobility seat does not necessarily mean that he is on the side of the imperial power, and sitting in the cardinal seat does not unconditionally promote the authority of the church. While the imperial family and the Vatican repeatedly checked and checked each other, the ultimate goal of the members was to cleverly take care of themselves.

Fall passed quickly and winter was approaching. I felt unfamiliar with the appearance of celebrities entering the White Babenberg Palace and the Parliament Hall one by one in the fresh and chilly morning air. They looked much younger than my recent memories.

Whoa. There is no tension enough to paralyze the body as it was in the past. It's a little bit, a little bit, a little bit exciting. I hope everything goes as planned...

    “Ah, sorry…”

As he was about to enter the aisle with his hat on his long hair hanging down, he bumped into someone who was passing him on the shoulder. Occasionally, there were people who would do it on purpose and politely hand over apples, so I lowered my eyes in envy and reached out for the hat that had fallen on the floor.

    “… thanks … It is.”

I blinked for a moment as I faced the Cardinal in his early twenties, standing in his all-black clerical attire, and staring straight into my face with the same dark black eyes. It wasn't that I was confused about who it was. He was a very familiar person.

couldn't know Cardinal Richelieu, a promising young clergyman from the countess. Speaking of this priest, he used to stare at me like this in the past. He is so reticent that his nickname is the Silent Bell. Even at my hearing, he was just staring at me without saying a word. By the way…

“Good morning, Yeha. Lady Neuwanstein? You came. Welcome."

A familiar voice suddenly came from behind, freed me from the most uncomfortable person. As soon as he turned his head the next moment, he was immediately met with firm, deep blue eyes.

“Duke of Nuremberg. long time no see."

“I saw you at the funeral. I am glad that you have a good complexion.”

    “Thank you for your concern.”

Duke of Nuremberg, the younger brother of the current Empress and head of the Nuremberg family, the 'wolf in the wall'. On the day of that damn hearing in the past, he was the one who for some reason defended me aggressively with His Majesty the Emperor.

Looking back now, it was a strange and ironic thing indeed. King, let's say so. Empress Elisabeth always seemed to be hostile to me, saying she was displeased with me, so why was her younger sister so kind to me?

As we exchanged greetings, the Silent Servant had slipped inside. The Duke of Nurembern, who looked down at me with his eyes filled with warmth that is hard to describe, finally reached out his hand.

“Speak of course. Then let’s go in.”

As we entered the council hall under the escort of the Duke of Nuremberg, we were the last to see. To the left of the huge rectangular table, Duke Heinrich, Marquis Schweig, Earl of Bavaria, and Earl of Hattenstein were all sitting modestly and staring at me with piercing eyes.

Speaking to the right, the seven cardinals in black robes, centered around Cardinal Richelieu, are seated with reverent faces and hard-to-read faces.

    “Duke of Nuremberg, Lady Neuvanstein.”

“Lady Neuwanstein, once again my condolences on the passing of your father.”

    “Lady Neuwanstein.”

“May the Father and Our Lady grant you peace of mind, Lady Neuwanstein.”

While everyone greeted each other politely with respectful faces, inside, they seemed to be astonished at the fact that I had really appeared. A shaky and reluctant atmosphere that had not been noticed in the past.

… It wasn't even a crowd. Here, with the exception of a few cardinals, the ages of most of the personnel were in their early 30s to late 40s at best, and compared to my current mental age, it wasn't as much of a difference as before. The two major dukes, the Dukes of Nuremberg and Heinrich, were also not yet forty years old.

The incident involving the relatives of the children of the previous day would have spread as quickly as it was now. It was obvious how they would have decried me as cold-blooded without blood or tears. Wouldn't it be nice if I was lucky that the only person here who seemed to like me was the Duke of Nuremberg?

Speaking of Duke Heinrich, who I had been with in the past, he only wanted to form a betrothal relationship with Neuwanstein. The reason I pushed for the engagement of his wife O'Hara and Jeremy, despite his lukewarm neutral attitude on the day of the hearing, was solely because of the children and the future of the family.

… Of course, from now on, the story will be different.

Phew, it would have been better if the Duke of Nuremberg had a girlfriend. But as far as I know he has only one son the age of Jeremy. Jeremy and the wolf of Nuremberg who frantically aungdaunghal for the position of the Empire's strongest knight in the near future. Perhaps the reason the Duke is so generous to me is because I have a similar son.

No matter what he was thinking on the inside, he smiled quietly on the outside, exchanged greetings, and sat down. It was a reserved seat for Neuvanstein, that is, right next to the Duke of Nuremberg, who sat in the center. This is the position my husband occupied while he was alive.

“Before the assembly, I would like to offer a prayer in remembrance of the deceased who had been with us for a while. How about Richelieu?”

The Silent Cardinal, who was staring at me with black eyes that had no clue what the meaning of those remarks proclaimed by the Duke of Nuremberg in a strangely coercive tone, drew a sign. Then he began to memorize prayers.

After the long and slow recitation of the prayer, and while everyone drew their crosses with brief sighs, I turned my head to the Duke of Nuremberg and opened my mouth with a faint smile, saying that I had just remembered.

“Really, Duke. Because I plan to hold a memorial service soon. I will send you an invitation, so would you like to come with your wife?”

This was originally an offer the Duke Lee had made to me in the past. He asked me what he thought about holding a remembrance banquet in honor of the Marquis. At that time, I was crazy over all sorts of things, so I shrugged it off saying I'll think about it later. Now that I think about it, it was an opportunity to lay the groundwork for me… … .

The Archduke, who was strangely kind to me, wanted to touch the tip of his chin with his hand for a moment, then smiled softly.

“You mean the remembrance banquet… ? Well, it's kind of weird. I was about to make a similar offer to my wife.”

“Thank you for writing. But that's because I think it's the right thing to do on my part...Surely you will come?”

"of course. Actually, His Majesty the Emperor misses the deceased quite a bit, so we were discussing the matter with his wife.”

“Big, huh, Lady Neuwanstein? How does it feel to be bullied? When do you think this is the right time?”

I had to swallow the laughter of conversion that swelled up at the familiar sound of Duke Heinrich coughing and uttering.

No matter how they secretly lie about me, Neuwanstein's position, which holds more than half of the imperial treasury, was not easily diminished, no matter how young a widow I was. I, the temporary head of such a family, and the Duke of Nuremberg, the younger brother of the Empress and the uncle of the princes, are planning a memorial banquet to honor the Emperor's loyalties.

“Oh my, you want Prince Heinrich to come too?”

“That’s right, isn’t it? Johenus was also my friend.”

“It is a banquet to honor the loyalties of His Majesty the Emperor, Cancer, and everyone deserves to attend.”

First of all, it seems that the first step has been taken. This banquet would be the key to preventing that damn hearing.

    * * *

The painful sensation of bumping to and fro in the wagon rolling down with smashed doors was vivid. The smell of the blood of the knights scattered outside pierced his nostrils terribly. Then, with a thud, the door seemed to be completely smashed, and a bandit's fishy smile came over with a sword full of blood.

“Don’t blame us too much. It's because your arms are twisted the wrong way."

I closed my eyes and screamed! For the first time since we got married, I screamed and screamed like a child!

“… Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Aaaaaaaaaah!”

When I opened my eyes, startled by the scream I had uttered, the familiar ceiling of my marquis residence covered my view. gasped for breath. Was it just a dream? His back was damp with cold sweat. But why is my body so heavy? It feels like it's been pressed down by scissors and can't even move.

    “Hey, Gwen! Gween!”

Moaning in fear, finally raising my head, what caught my eye was none other than the twins who had climbed into my bed and stretched out to sleep. As soon as the panic slowly receded, a bewildered sigh escaped.

    “Why are you…”

Did I say lion cubs are cute when they sleep? The two children, who were sleeping peacefully after making me go to the brink of death, seemed to have no angels. Wouldn't it be great if you could keep this state even when your eyes are open..

    Woodang tang tang tang!

    “Oh, ma’am? Are you okay?”

    “What, what, what, what?!”

    “What, what?! What's up?!"

… Well, I guess my scream was quite loud. Let's face it, our loyal maid, who dragged the knights in with pale weary faces. What to do with the two guys with their heads full of magpies and their eyes awake. I never thought I'd be the one who caused the commotion in this mansion early in the morning.

    “Wow…What is it, Mom?”

There was silence for a while. While we were all just staring blankly at the twins who woke up slowly, rubbing their eyes, it was the eldest son who was the first to take action. Jeremy wanted to yawn as he scratched his tangled golden hair with his hand, and then burst out into a bitter laugh. It was a laugh full of mischief that was really bad.

“Pu ha ha ha! Hey, Leon, Rachel is like that, but what are you doing here?! Whoa!”

It goes without saying that Leon's face, which had been looking around with sleepy eyes, was glowing. Leon was still ten years old. Jeremy had a terrible talent for making her feel ashamed even though she wasn't at the age to be ashamed of the fact that she couldn't sleep at dawn and came to her mother's place.

    “I, I just…”

“Older brother, be quiet! Don't make fun of my twins, you idiot! Get out and die!”

“It’s funny, but what? Pu ha ha ha! By the way, you look really ugly when you wake up.”

    “Oh, that eldest brother!”

“Ah, I thought you were catching pigs since morning…”

“Little brother, if you tell your mom like that, you might run away.”

    “You be quiet, short-legged!”

“Even my little brother is short-legged!”

    “Who is short-legged!”

“Except for me, all of you are short-legged. Did you not know?”

“Hyung, the cub is the shortest?!”

“Oh my, are you? Are you trying to match someone with a short stature?”

“Aaaah! Why do you keep using violence?”

… ha. This would be normal. my seller I glanced at Gwen with the knights who were exchanging extremely unconcerned glances. Then, he looked away from Jeremy and Elias, who had been fussing since this early morning, and held the twins side by side with their arms.

“Leon, Rachel. Would you like to go out with me?”

    "Where?"

“Look at the pretty clothes. Shall we go together?”

“I don’t know if there are any pretty things that Rachel wears, but I go too.”

    “Ouch…! me, me too!”

    “Mom didn’t ask the hyungs!”

At last Leon, who had the opportunity to take revenge, shouted at that low-key gesture, Jeremy, who had been thrashing around Elias's head, who was pretending to be dying, finally released his arm and frowned. And then he cried.

“Wow, are you discriminating against children?”

"right! and! How can a person be like that?! I’m going to submit it to a magazine!”

… As a result, it is my fault for expecting something simple and peaceful.

Suddenly, the absurd thing happened, in which the whole family went out together as soon as they finished breakfast. It goes without saying that the hell road unfolded inside the carriage all the way to the street for the nobility, where famous dressing rooms, salons, jewelers, and tea houses are densely populated.

“But suddenly, what clothes are you looking at?”

“Jeremy, don’t open the window. You said it was because of the banquet.”

“What banquet? Where do you do it? Who is coming?”

“Mourning Banquet! Your father's remembrance banquet. Everyone you know will come... … Leon, it's not candy, so put it down."

    “Ugh! Use this!”

“It’s called hyangseok, short-legged. Pu ha ha ha! I don't need any new clothes. Because I...”

“No matter what you wear, you look like a beggar.”

“You can’t shut your mouth! You're better than your brother's bastard?!"

“It’s disgusting. If not, can you crush the ugly face even more?”

“Mom, can’t we just leave the brothers and go?”

The safety of the eardrums of the loyal trainees becomes very concerned. I could have just called the merchants to the mansion, but my rather childish desire to show off to others by going out like this was the cause of this phenomenon today. big black.

… Nevertheless, as soon as we got off the carriage, we felt a little proud of the snow pouring in all directions towards us. Whew, yes. From a young age, my children have been the object of envy and envy wherever they go. Everyone will be proud to see the true nature behind these beautiful looks.

When my husband was alive, that is, before he was still completely ill, we would all go out together like this from time to time to go to famous restaurants. Come to think of it, the last time I did that was already a year ago.

Maybe it's been a while since I've been outside, so Leon and Rachel were both clasping my hands with their emerald eyes wide open, as if a little frightened. It was pretty cute to see the strange buildings surrounding him and his bewildered look at people's eyes. On the other hand, the first son and the second son acted as if they were living in this place with an attitude of what the hell was wrong with them.

"Oh, I'm so tired of this. Are there no arms dealers here?”

“Jeremy, Elias. If you want to go to the arms dealer, go with the knights separately. We'll be going to the red roof building over there."

It would be beneficial for the owner of the dressing room and for our peace to somehow separate the two guys, who are eager to make fun of me and the twins, for a while. Fortunately, Jeremy and Elias obeyed my words for some reason, so I took only my twins and entered the dressing room of Madame Melissa, one of the two major designers who go up and down in the mouths of ladies in the capital. It was a bar that had put a chimney in advance before coming.

    “So, well, he… Oh."

    “Madam, Mrs. Look over there.”

“Oh my gosh… Isn't that the marquis?"

“That’s right. Those kids... Oh my gosh, my God.”

“The kid has brought him. How… ”

Madame Melissa's dressing room is a famous place not only for ladies, but also as a trendy harbinger for young boys and girls. In the drawing room with all kinds of large and small gloves and plaster mannequins wearing whalebone corsets and narrow-brimmed hats, which are fashionable these days, many ladies and gentlemen who were chatting while holding tea while sitting at a table by the window all lowered their voices and began to gossip. Ha, it's a familiar feeling.

“Welcome, Lady Neuwanstein. Thank you for coming on time.”

Madame Melissa jumps out from the inside and smiles brightly at me. I felt a little bit relieved at the sight of the great designer, who gave a warm impression with curly brown hair and light chestnut eyes.

Of course, if you have a fixed relationship with our family, whether it's Madame Melissa or other famous dressing rooms, it's a good thing, so you have to be kind. That was one of the advantages I had as head of Neuvanstein. The truth is that it is overflowing with power and money.

"nice to see you. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule.”

“No words to say, it’s an honor for me. Are you going to deny it and match your children's clothes?”

"yes. The other two will be coming soon. I don't know if I can find something to match.”

“First, let’s take a look at the dimensions. Do you have any special designs you want?”

After taking measurements under the hands of the dressing room staff, I was about to go out and look through the catalogs that Madame Melissa showed me. Rachel, who was measuring in the other room, suddenly let out a loud roar as if she was declaring that the entire area belonged to her! Madame Melissa half jumped out of her seat, the staff were confused, and the ladies drinking tea spilled their teacups. Leon, who was looking at the mannequin with curious eyes, chewing on the cookies the staff gave him, screamed and kicked the mannequin. Oh God!

    “What else… ”

“Mom, take me out of this nice place! I hate standing alone in a rathole like this!”

Are you saying it's hard to be there for a while just taking measurements? That's why kids! Eventually I had to go and watch Rachel finish her measurements. I pretended not to see Madame Melissa smiling like a strangely delighted woman. big black.

Meanwhile, customers continued to enter the dressing room. Is it just my misunderstanding that I feel that there are more people looking out of the huge window and just snooping around out of curiosity?

About the time I had taken all the measurements and managed to choose my outfit for the memorial banquet and my twins outfit, Jeremy and Elias showed up. The two lion cubs came up to me right away, spilling people's gazes on them and shy greetings through the back of their ears. No, but Jeremy, why is he so puffy?

“Jeremy? Why is your expression like that?”

“Oh, I was annoyed by some guy!”

    "why? What's going on?”

Elias started explaining in place of Jeremy, who was not able to speak because he seemed to have a lot of heat. Elias said without hesitation in a tone that seemed to claim that his brother's shivering was indeed accusatory.

“I mean, because he liked the sword, some mongrel snatched it up first? That was not enough, so I teased him for being slow and ran away. That's why you're this little bastard."

“Shut up! Oh, just make that bastard stand out again! I'm going to rip off my leg and kill you on the spot!"

The staff and guests were now all on the verge of fainting. Jeremy, who had poured out such an individualistic abusive language as if he had no awareness that this place was a public place, now smiled and looked at me.

“Are you finished playing with the dolls?”

“…Jeremy. You and Elias should go and measure.”

“Oh, why? I know my measurements!”

“I might have grown up by then, so it’s called ashes. It's a banquet in honor of your father, so you should dress modestly."

“I don’t know, but this guy probably didn’t grow up. After all, do you mean that other people’s eyes are so important?”

    "okay! It’s very, very important!”

When I finally lost my patience and bluntly fired, Jeremy and Elias wanted to exchange glances with a blank expression on their faces, then shyly scratched their heads and quietly followed the staff. Anyway, where do you get better if you listen to it when you say something nice?

“Anyway, I can’t live because of my brothers.”

It was truly a sight to see Rachel sighing as she laid her hands on her waist, like a very virtuous little lady. Madame Melissa, who had been looking at me with laughter-filled eyes that had no way of knowing the meaning of the previous one, coughed in vain.

“Great, Lady Neuwanstein. How long do you think it will last?”

“How long does it usually take?”

“Since you are five…It can be completed in ten days or even fortnights at the earliest. If before…”

“If you send it within 7 days, I will triple it. We also pay extra for our staff.”

Did I say golden omnipotence? At my outspoken suggestion, Madame Melissa immediately accepted without even paying attention to the calendar with a tight schedule. It goes without saying that the faces of the employees who were busy going back and forth became very bright.

“Ah, Shuri, I need to buy a new hunting suit too.”

After choosing the final design for the pony-like Elias and Jeremy's costumes, it was a moment to breathe while sitting on the sofa far away from the table where the other guests were sitting. I froze on the spot at the sight of something glimmering outside the huge window that almost covered the opposite wall.

    “Shuri?”

Jeremy, who was talking about hunting clothes, came over and started coughing and quietly looking at me. Without the ability to respond, I just struggled in the panic that came over me in an instant.

“Shuri, why are you doing this? Are you pissed off?”

    “….”

“Before, that was just… Dude, it's because I want to see you fidgeting. You know, I'm not thinking."

… It's nice to be aware of that, but it's not like that anyway. Damn it, obviously I wasn't wrong. Why, at a time like this... I almost forgot … !

“When mom runs away, it’s all because of the eldest brother!”

“Big brother, you idiot! I make fun of my mom every day! Brother, it's a big deal now!"

“That’s what your little brother does.”

“No, but this is… Big, ah, Shuri, are you really mad?”

I barely came to my senses and shook my head slowly. Let's calm down for now. the kids are together

    “Jeremy.”

    “Uh, huh?”

“Wait a minute, would you like to see my brothers and sisters here? I'll go somewhere soon."

“Where are you going? Come with me!”

    “I’m leaving soon.”

    “So where?”

In response to the persistently pouring questions, I gently pressed one hand on my heart that started to thump. Calm down, Calm down, Whoa Whoa. Jeremy is surprisingly smart. I'm sure you'll notice something if I give you a little tee. So I grabbed Jeremy's wrist with one hand and whispered softly.

“… I'm going to buy women's items. Stop asking.”

    "ah… !”

Jeremy's blushing blushing and making a stupid sound then was a spectacle worth watching for a long time, but now I don't have time to relax like that.

I went out of the dressing room and walked down the quiet alley in the back. As I stopped for a moment and looked around, a hand that suddenly came out of nowhere grabbed my shoulder and dragged me into the narrow alley.

“It’s been a while, my sweet sister. Almost two years?”

In my opinion, it's been about 6 years. Lucas von Ighoeffer, whom I met for the first time in almost 6 years, was staring at my brother's weasel-like face, and it was a new feeling. Maybe it was because I thought we would never see each other again, or if I ever went back to the past, I forgot that I would definitely run into it at least once.

“It’s not a very pleasant look. sad, hey To my one and only brother … .”

“Why did you come to the capital?”

A chill dripped from my voice. Lucas wanted to show the same bright green eyes as mine, and then smiled.

“I came to see you, of course. I….”

“Why did your father fall? Or is your mother hurt? You already know it's all a lie, so just go. I have nothing to give.”

Lucas paused for a moment as he flirted with a sarcastic tone. When I saw it, I burst into laughter.

It was like this in the past as well. After my husband died, my parents, my brother, and my relatives came rushing to visit me, trying to get a share. Although he kicked them out every time, Lucas was particularly persistent. He would often mention his parents and ask for money in any way. I remember taking it a couple of times. Then, in the end, no matter how many times he came to the outside of the mansion and begged, he never met him.

“Why have you changed so much? No matter how much everyone says they change when they come to the capital, it wasn’t like this in the first place.”

    “….”

“Oh, listen. I mean, I've been starving for three days now. Does that make sense? It's strictly aristocratic spirituality, but the look has become ridiculous. My money is rotting, so please help me. Or let me stay at your house for awhile-”

“You think I was stabbed in the head, will you accept such a revamp? It's been three days since I said I was starving. Get off before you call the knights. I don't have time to deal with you, so if you don't want to be treated harshly, don't come back to me again. Do you understand?”

I don't know how to express the really stupid-looking expression on Lucas' face right now. it should have been It should have been like this from the beginning... I was about to go back to the children, leaving behind the pathetic figure of a younger brother called my brother, but suddenly he grabbed my shoulder and pushed me hard against the wall. My back pounded and I felt a painful sensation.

    “What is this… .”

“I said, ‘I’ll see you,’ so the little girl who tells her brother that she has become a marquis after two years is dirty? Are you threatening me now? You look at me with that kind of look at how good your bitch is? How long do you think your seat will last? You'll be back after you've been kicked out anyway… .”

    "Hey!"

    puck!

It was then that Lucas's growling, garbage-like words, with his meanly burning eyes, pushing me as if they were about to eat me, were really clumsy. To be more precise, someone who flew into the narrow alley where we were standing, no, ran like a flight, kicked Lucas as it was.

Shredding my shoulder, I thought the strength I was holding would escape, and the next moment, Lucas was lying on the floor, vomiting a very sad scream.

“Sheesh, these are the new boots… Anyway, have you ever seen such a rude bastard?! You wear on the wheel of this wagon, that girl hates you!”

It's a strangely high and squeaky voice, perhaps because the transformation period was wrong. The next thing that came into my dazed, half-passed view was none other than a boy the size of me with a sword.

He was tall, but apparently still a child, maybe at best about the same age as Jeremy? It was a strangely familiar face, but I couldn't remember exactly where I saw it. Tousled black hair and cool blue eyes. It's obviously familiar. where did you see... ?

While I was bewildered, this absurd boy clicked his tongue and scratched his head for a moment, then relentlessly advanced towards Lucas, who was lying on the floor. Then, he grabbed Lucas' neck with one hand, and with the other hand he pointed at the blade of a sword that must have been freshly bought in this area.

    “Hey, Notan.”

    “Ahhhhh!”

Confused, Lucas began to scream in terror. … For reference, Lucas was twenty-one. How ridiculous is this?

“Damn it, I’m going to die of noise. Shut your mouth! Hey, shut your mouth. Before you cut off your tongue.”

    “Uh-huh! Sah, save me… .”

“Did I tell you to shut up? hey look at my eyes Look into my eyes.”

“Ugh… Hey, don't let this go?! Uh, the little one dares to know who I am-"

"Even if you're the Crown Prince, you're not going to say X. Will you pull out all your teeth? Would you like me to lift your gums out?”

"… Why, why are you here?”

“Okay, don’t touch that girl again. Don't talk to me, don't run into me on the street, don't even think about it, and don't see me in your dreams. If you don't want to cut your lower back."

Oh God! It was truly a terrifying declaration that would make your spine shiver. No, more than that, I thought that only the kids in my house had a rough mouth, but I guess all boys these days are like that.

“Did you understand? Don't tickle me, don't you answer me?"

    “Ah, ah, ah, I see.”

When Lucas, who was tired of blue, hurriedly nodded his head up and down, the boy let go of the nape he was holding on to. As soon as I was watching my older brother's unsightly back face, the boy who had been kicking his tongue alone now, with his sword on one shoulder, stood and stared straight at me.

"it's okay? How did you get involved with a guy like that?”

    “… That’s it.”

    "Uh?"

“It’s my brother. Anyway, thanks for your help.”

    “Your brother? Who is that?”

The boy with his tongue sticking out in disbelief looked at me in a blink of an eye. The clear autumn sky-like eyes swept me up and down quickly, then stared intently into my face and hair.

As for me, I was rolling my head to infer the identity of this boy. It sure looks familiar, but why doesn't it come to mind right away?

“Sheesh, a brother or something like that is cheap to deal with, but isn’t it just me that makes you in trouble?”

It was a strange sight to see him scratching his head, while the harsh look from a while ago had disappeared. Maybe it was because it felt strangely innocent, without realizing it, I smiled.

“It will not happen. I'd rather see it better."

“Then I’m glad…. But did you know that you have a very unique way of speaking? It feels like talking to my mother.”

… ok, it's no big deal. To this guy, I'm just a young girl of the same age. Without realizing it, I spoke like a lion cub in my house.

It was then that the boy, who had been staring at me with his head tilted, smiled at first glance. Looking here, the young Apostle of Justice, who had a pretty pretty face, held out a sword the size of my body on one shoulder and held out his empty left hand to me and said in a sarcastic tone.

“Anyway, I’ll take you to the place where you and your party are. What house are you, Young-ae? There are no kids like you around me.”

“ … Which house are you from?”

    "Me? Refrain from precious houses."

I have nothing to say. The sword he is holding, as well as the clothes and shoes, are obviously quite expensive products, even for the restraints of many nobles.

Feeling a sense of unity with the parents of strangers who do not know his face, he gently grabs the rough hand that was spread out in front of him. Surprisingly, there was a warm warmth.

The callus-studded sense of savagery seems to be that this guy is just as much a swordsman as our handsome eldest son.

We reached the front of the dressing room under the escort of an unidentified boy, the first thing that caught my eye was Jeremy's golden hair sitting on the stairs at the entrance. Then Jeremy gets up and starts yelling,

    "Huh? You damn that...!"

When he turned his head with a bewildered expression, he saw the face of a black-haired boy who started to laugh quietly about what was so funny

"Are you laughing out loud at this scoundrel who stole other people's stuff? Does it open up in your mouth?"

"To be precise, it's mine, I bought it with money. If you're going to resent it, blame your slow speed? Anyway, I don't have time to play with you..."

"Master, master! When did you get here, you've been looking for a long time... where are you running away from?!"

A man who appeared to be a training knight literally appeared out of nowhere and shouted with mournful force, so fortunately it didn't happen that the two boys started playing here. He was running away from my trainee at high speed, and I managed to catch Jeremy, who was about to run after him, and stopped him.

"Be polite, you can buy another black!"

“Oh, that fucking bastard is running away? Just try to get caught again!”

Jeremy, who had been grinding his teeth like that for a while, now suddenly looked at me with serious eyes

“… I know. I was the one I knew, so I said hello, so somehow it happened.”

“Is that so? I don’t know what kind of motherfucker it is, but tell her to do a home-education straight away. Damn it.”

    … Sister-in-law is talking

    * * *

A memorial banquet in honor of my husband Johenus von Neuwanstein. In preparation for this banquet, I almost retouched the interior of the entire first floor, including the drawing room, of the main building. Count the number of invitations alone It was a luxurious version that exceeded most palace banquets from a budget. Family members and cardinals called Nanda Ginda of the capital, as well as the imperial family, were scheduled to come. First, the Crown Prince and our Jeremy were close since they were little, Because the Duke of Nuremberg, who planned this banquet together, is the Empress's younger sister, so it was not unreasonable for me to recheck the banquet hall several times and to stir-fry the users from the early hours of the morning, shaking Busan

What will happen if I stay calm even for a little while?”

Shall we go to the backyard and redecorate the twins who were all dirty from running around, to appease Elias who complained about the color of his clothes, or to wrestle with Jeremy, who inevitably insists on wearing a sword? Jin is completely lost. Why do you need a sword for a banquet?

"Stop being stubborn! You haven't even been ordained a knight!"

“You’re going to get it?! Maybe you’ll get it next year?!”

“Not yet, so please listen to me for just one day!”

    “I’m a kid!”

“When you see something like this, what are you doing?!”

Jeremy was very tenacious, but I was no less than that. Why am I already so anxious for a potential celebrity who will know everything later anyway?

In the end, I won. Seeing the children in all their uniforms put on a smile of satisfaction:

Rachel and Leon in the same color light blue dress and suit, Elias in a blue tailcoat, Jeremy in a scarlet boy uniform. I have to give it to him. Phew.

It was only after I confirmed that the kids were all set up, so I hurriedly redecorated myself. The deep-square neckline and the blue dress with a bow-covered stomerker stand out was a design that would go out of fashion until the second half of next year. The pink hair was braided thickly and decorated with pins. It should have been fashionable to have a flashy ponytail, but it was impossible for me, because some nasty guy had a really sharp scar on the back of my head. .

    _

"Oh, you're right. To be more precise, you're supposed to protect your eyes."

… Hold on. They said that if you put up with it three times, you can avoid murder. Anyway, those burns.

It may seem ironic that even the blood and blood of children and my blood were thoroughly excluded from the memorial banquet hosted by our family.

Anyway, my vague anxiety For this banquet time, guests in lavishly dressed up began to arrive one after another. If I did a pretty good job of being a kind housekeeper by exchanging long greetings one by one, a smile that seemed sincere on the outside no matter what the guests were thinking on the inside The young gaze and gossip of the enemy revealed openly at the funeral should be put on hold for now

    ?

    “Duke Heinrich, you are here.”

“Really, this is my girlfriend. O’Hara?”

It was a new feeling to see my former future daughter-in-law, Princess O'Hara, at the age of 12. The platinum blonde girl who held the skirt hem slightly and prepared herself with a flawless posture was pretty enough to grow into the most beautiful woman in the capital city in the future. .

    _

    _

“Nice to meet you, Young-ae. I hope you have a good time.”

Blushing shyly, O'Hara, with her purple eyes twinkling, looked at the children standing next to me, to be precise, to Jeremy, who stood there with a look of boredom, to say the least of Jeremy, and patted my pigtails with her fingers.

This guy is really...? Right now, the girl who might become your future fiancée is watching you. Of course, that is up to you in the future…

They're all still young, so if someone likes them later, I'll consider them then:

    "Lady Neuwanstein."

"Duke of Nuremberg, Duchess. Welcome. Welcome."

Unlike the Duchess, who greets me brightly and greets me with a benevolent smile, the Duchess with a rather feeble complexion just quietly looked at me with a sad look. Not in the sense of mourning. He used to treat me with uncontrollable sorrowful eyes. It was easy to get used to, but it felt a bit awkward.

"This is my immature son. Please, I shouldn't be buying and hitting here... ..."

“Why does my father always do this with me?”

I was unexpectedly stunned and shocked by the appearance of the boy who suddenly appeared with a unique introduction from the friendly Duke of Nuremberg, and I was shocked?

    "You are that……….”

Only then, realizing the identity of the apostle of justice the other day, I began to resent my sense of being one step late, and at the same time, I began to feel great compassion for the Duke and Duchess of Nuremberg. No matter how much I think about it, this seems to be the reason why the Duke of Steel is kind to me.

” Nora, what rudeness are you to the Marquis?”

“Yeah…? What? Is she the marquis?”

    “Your son of a bitch!”

Confucius, with his jagged dark hair looking at me in a black boy uniform, with his blue eyes wide open, was none other than the boy who drove Lucas away without mercy the other day! That Nora von Nuremberg, who will grow up to be Jeremy's only adversary

    ?

    “Yes? Oh, that’s….”

Embarrassment came over me. There is no big disgrace if the story of how that childish Confucius met me here is blown away…

! For some reason, while the young Confucius was silent with a mysterious expression, it was none other than Elias who dipped his first hand into the water on the eve of this storm. Instead of cracking the cracker, he showed a look full of astonishment, and then the only thing he said he did was this:

    “Brother, isn’t that snatcher then?”

“What…? What, why is that guy here?! Hey!”

Nora wanted to pause for a moment at Jeremy's roar, the most ferocious indeed, but soon turned around with a formidable smirk and began to babble:

"Who is this, aren't you that slugger back then? Was it a Neuwanstein son, you? It’s a waste of a name, a family name.”

"Your snout is doing well with the subject that I quickly pulled out for fear of getting ripped off. You are the shame of your family, you bastard!"

I was stunned to see the two of them alternately. Is this what the feud is talking about?

Jeremy was the lion of Neuwanstein, Nora was the hungry wolf of Nuremberg. 's swordsmanship competition, the final, which dragged on for so long and eventually was drawn, could be said to be the beginning of the rivalry. Everyone cheered, screamed and rioted, maybe.…

"The more stupid the seed, the more he sees what he wants to see. Most of the time, it's a projection of himself."

“What kind of bullshit are you? I thought you were only good at getting rid of me, but you came up with a great philosopher? Why don’t you just give it a try instead of just talking?”

    “Jeremy!”

    "Nora!"

In the end, the Duke of Nuremberg and I had to come forward and stop this pitiful hoax, the Duke shoved his son's head in the head and I slapped Jeremy in the back:

    "Aaaah!"

    “Aww! It hurts!”

"Jeremy, what the hell are you rude to a customer? Apologize!"

“Why me?! He said it first!”

“Norah, I apologize for my disrespect.”

“Why me? It’s that woman who has been conspiring with something that someone else has purchased legitimately… Ah, why did you hit me again?!”

“It must be a lot of hardship…”

At least that's what the shy Duchess would tell me, although it's my brother-in-law's... But should I say I'm glad that I got over how I got to know Nora

At the loud notification that someone shouted, we, who were holding our sons and daughters together, and the guests who watched us sipping our glasses of wine, all at the same time, as if we had made a promise, became quiet and politely prepared.

“I see the young eagle of the Empire, His Majesty the Crown Prince.”

The 17-year-old Crown Prince, Theobald von Baden Bismarck, marching with his entourage draped around him, breathing breaths and polite greetings pouring in from here and there, the prince approaching us straight ahead with his silver-white hair shining in the light of the chandelier.opened her mouth with her golden eyes curled up.

… What is it, this unheard of burdensome greeting? Mother of lions? Never before in my previous life, the Crown Prince called me that way. The sound of Elias’ smirk trying to suppress his laughter was so abhorrent.

“It is a great honor to have you come here, His Majesty the Crown Prince.”

"So sad. If I don't come, who else will come? Haha."

    “My Majesty.”

"Uncle, aunt. Didn't I say I was coming, haha... Oh, my cousin, it's been a while? Are you tall?"

with the momentum of biting each other, it was refreshing to see the prince so polite and gentle.

    "Nora… … !"

"Leave it alone, aunt. Haha, you're still being blunt."

“I have been consistent from the moment I was born, and your Majesty the Crown Prince is as kind as I am submissive.”

Confucius, who had fired in a tone that felt cold and sarcastic, now turned around and the gun went away, and the Duke of Nuremberg sighed:

"I'm sorry, His Majesty, His Majesty. He's especially rare these days...".

"Ah, don't mind it, it's fine."

The sweet prince, who smiled a little, fixed his soft golden gaze on me for a moment, then spoke to Jeremy, who was rubbing his back, saying,

while. I'm glad it's looking good."

"What could not be okay? That guy must have been His Majesty's cousin... ."

Jeremy, who murmured in a low voice, also turned around and walked away.

Father and Mother, bless the boys of this age! The Crown Prince, who was rejected side by side by the two spirits he had been closest to since childhood, is now literally stunned. They just stared blankly at me like this.

    “Why are they like that?”

Of course, it may be due to the appearance of an enemy who is entangled in a bad relationship, but were my children originally arrogant even in front of such other adults? I don't know, the good news is that Elias and the twins are still calm.

"Elias, I beg you, will you take good care of your brothers?"

“Why me? That’s what hyung should do… .”

“You play better with twins than Jeremy.”

    "not really? Aren't you playing?"

… What I expected is wrong. Prince Theobald, who was watching me with strangely twinkling eyes as I swallowed my tears of sorrow, spoke to me very affectionately.

“You are in a lot of trouble.”

    “Ahaha….”

“Do you think you don’t have to worry too much? There are many children of my age, so won't they play on their own? Have a drink with me first.”

It sounded oddly convincing, perhaps because it was the words of a gentle prince. So I meekly took the glass that Theobald was handed to me, held it, and moistened my lips with the pungent wine.

“By the way, it's the first time I've actually met your wife, but it feels like we've met before. I hope to come to greet you earlier... … .”

“It is an honor to meet you today. How is your Majesty the Emperor?”

“You are always healthy. ha ha ha. Anyway, I don't know why Jeremy is so sloppy these days, but he and I have been close since childhood, so I will visit him often to hang out with him. Please welcome me.”

“It is natural. You are always welcome if you are the Crown Prince.”

As he responded with a gentle smile, his golden eyes immediately lit up. Unless I was mistaken, there was a sign that he sincerely wanted to protect his words. Hmm, this is another strange one. Even with that strange greeting from before, was this Crown Prince always so kind to me?

… Well, things are a little different now than then.

The current Empress Elisabeth is the only surviving second prince. Crown Prince Theobald was the reincarnation of the former Empress, who died prematurely of puerperal fever.

Before I came to this marquis, when the children were much younger than they are now, Theobald and Jeremy had maintained a relationship. It was from the consideration of the emperor and my husband who wanted to make a companion of the same age for the prince. Originally, the role should have gone to Confucius Nora, Empress Elisabeth's nephew, but if I remember correctly, Confucius and the Crown Prince were not very close.

… From what I saw earlier, it seems that for some reason, Nora unilaterally dislikes Theobald.

In any case, it can be said that the relationship with Theobald had a great influence on Jeremy's future being called the Crown Prince's sword, but that does not mean that this gentle prince was particularly friendly to me or was not arrogant. of course. It should have been avoided again. It's me who turned the social world upside down by bringing in a lover who was hired by a contract when my husband died not long ago. The notoriety I had at that time was great...

    “Are you okay?”

    "yes? ah... … .”

“Your eyes suddenly look sad. You seem to be thinking of the deceased.”

Hmmm, good majesty of the Crown Prince, those are very kind words, but you misunderstood... … .

“You are free to grieve. You've been through a lot in the past month. You're just old enough to celebrate your coming-of-age ceremony... . I don't know how to express the sadness I feel."

It was a surprisingly friendly tone. For a moment, I wondered why this person was doing this to me. Maybe it was because I never thought that someone would say something like that to me, and a corner of my heart felt numb.

… why am i doing this Is it because of alcohol?

    “My Majesty.”

We both turned our heads side by side at the sudden voice we heard from right next to us. Then I met someone I hadn't thought of.

“Ah, Cardinal Richelieu. Yeha also attended. How are you?”

It was Cardinal Richelieu, the Silent Servant in that black cloak of courtesy. I didn't even expect him to really come. The jet-black eyes under the dark brown hair dyed in the bright light wanted to scan us in turn as we stood holding glasses, and then, without fail, came to my face. Then his eyes looked at me, and the words were spit out at Theobald.

“I have something to tell you about the tithing issue the other day.”

“Ugh, what are you doing until you come here? Can't you take a look? I really want.... Then, madam, excuse me for a moment.”

As I watched the good-natured Crown Prince walk gently while murmuring mischievously, I felt deeply envious of Empress Elisabeth.

On the other hand, the Silent Servant didn't even greet me and just stared at me with that bizarre gaze until the end. It was a very dark look, and it was a feeling of reluctance at all. In the past, I didn't really care, but now it bothers me a bit... … .

I put my empty glass down for a moment, stood there, and glanced over the huge hall where the banquet was taking place. To be more precise, I looked at the guests who were grouped together to taste, drink, and have a conversation while the special ensemble's variations were flowing.

In most cases, the position of a person called Nara was very ambiguous. A young female temporary headman, unprecedented in the history of the Empire. What was it like to be part of a faction that was only old and sinful, but also part of a group of young girls my age?

Although the marriage age of women of aristocratic families is about 16 to 23, if you were a young girl who got married early at my current age, she would avoid this position due to problems such as being newlyweds or getting pregnant.

It was difficult to form a consensus easily when it was said that they were single children. It wasn't that there weren't any young girls who were friendly to me in the past, but most of them were just a bunch of people approaching me to eat Congo water from the side. At that time, I also didn't really try to make a side.

The group I was targeting right now was none other than the ladies. Women of some age and with children. The young girls of the right age, who were just about to debut in the social world, exchanged glances with their peers, chatting happily with each other, or exchanging whispers. I passed them and walked towards the wives who had taken up a seat in the banquet hall.

“Does the food fit you? Are there any inconveniences?”

Petit Four and the wives who were chatting over a glass of wine all looked at me at once. They were faces with friendly smiles, but the light of search was shining in their elegant eyes. The Countess of Bavaria, who was one-of-a-kind, spoke at the forefront. The woman I used to ask for Rachel's special training teacher.

“You seem to have good taste, Lady Neuwanstein. thank you for the invitation."

“I am so grateful that my wives accepted my invitation. Hey, I wish you all the best in the future. I’m so glad you came.”

When she smiled brightly and responded with an innocent girl-like tone, the eyes that were judiciously judiciously exchanged glances. As I sat down next to the Countess of Bavaria with a bit of agitation, one of the wives, who had exchanged significant expressions, squirmed.

“It is a warm welcome that I never expected. But, madam, we heard some strange rumors.”

    “A strange rumor? About me?”

When I asked, innocently raising my eyes, there was a quick exchange of glances once again. Next to inherit the hilt were the Marquis of Schweig and the Countess of Hattenstein.

“It’s nothing. The other day, I happened to run into Countess Sebastien at the salon. I don't believe everything he says, but....”

“That’s right, you can’t just listen to one side and make a judgment. You have to listen to both sides of anything.”

“Ah… I think you know what I’m talking about. It’s all because of my inexperience.”

As I carefully cast it, all curious glances fell on me. I swallowed my conversion smile and deliberately lowered my eyes awkwardly. Then, in a hesitant voice, he stuttered and continued:

“Actually… you know, my husband. He was a kind person, and he was always kind to the children.”

"By the way, we all know that the former Marquis was a good man."

"Thank you, Lady Bavaria. Actually, after my husband's funeral, I asked Mrs. Sebastien to stay here for a while and look after her nephews. I think the children will find stability sooner if I do that."

“Oh, I don’t think it was an unreasonable request.”

"Yes. But it turned out that his discipline did not match that of me or my husband. Am I being too strict? … . I knew he didn't like me very much, but I couldn't stand hurting my children for that. So I think I was being rude without my knowledge.”

I had already shown ourselves to people the other day by visiting a famous clothing store with my children. It was the same in this banquet today.

… It was a bit noisy, but anyway, all the wives in this place were mothers as well as guinea pigs who ate rust in the social world. The surest way to embrace them would be to first form a consensus with your children. The Duchess of Nuremberg, who had been watching me with her characteristic sad eyes, nodded her head abruptly.

    "I understand. It’s children’s business.”

“Lady Nuremberg is right. Oh my gosh, that was the case. I wouldn't have stood still. Isn’t everyone like that?”

“It is natural. I'd rather scold our hunt, but I can't stand it when others touch it. The outsiders don't seem to understand.... Ayu, the swordsmanship teacher brought in by my husband a while ago, isn't it just beating our hunts arbitrarily?"

“Oh my gosh. Is that true, Lady Bayern?”

“Because it is. So I asked. Then, the sound of that shameless rookie saying that, well, my husband allowed me to do whatever I want, anyway. He threatened my husband to scratch his eyeballs if I brought him one more time, and my son might have run away by now.”

A roar of laughter broke out. The husbands, who had gathered in the opposite seat to smoke and drink, looked around at the scene where elegant ladies covered their mouths with fans and smiled with tears in their eyes.

“Anyway, Mrs. Neuvanstein did nothing wrong. It would have been nice to have been more flexible, but....”

“Yeah, I have some regrets too. As you know, I don't have much experience or knowledge.... Hey, can I get some wiser advice from your wives if that ever happens to me?”

"Sure. Ugh, you're still young, how easy is it to take care of your ex-wife's children? Consult us anytime.”

Reactions that are mixed with a sense of homogeneity and superiority pouring out as if they are cute. It was just what I was hoping for. Acting as a young widow who was ignorant of the world and was humble and willing to learn anything at the same time paid off. Sitting in the same seat as their husbands, and even as young as blue, I approached them without hesitation and asked for advice and trembled, how could I not feel superior?

In the past, when I didn't know anything, I used to act like a cat with a nose up and claws up at a young Chigi who didn't want to look easy. It's because I didn't know that looking comfy isn't necessarily a bad thing, and that pride isn't all it takes to convince people and get them on their side.

Ladies and gentlemen are the most dominant members of the social world. No matter how quickly fashions change and the bright young girls come and go, they cannot bring down the ladies who are no different in terms of age and experience. Moreover, a long tradition passed down throughout the world, the most lethal and secret weapon is not their exclusive property. I mean pillow-head pine. big All in all, it seems that my purpose for today has, at least, been successful. Driving this momentum....

    “Ahhhhh!”

    “Three, my God… !”

    “No, someone dry me!”

It was then that the banquet hall, which had maintained a lively and elegant atmosphere, quickly became noisy. To be precise, from the stairs leading to the second-floor balcony, many well-dressed young girls ran down, screaming in astonishment. The mothers stood up in fright, the fathers exchanged bewildered glances, and the children jumped up the stairs excitedly with curious faces.

God, what's going on again this time? I hurriedly jumped up to see if Jeremy had just started battling his future rival here. And finally reached the balcony on the second floor, oh my god!

    Woo bang bang bang!

    “Jeremy!”

The balcony, lavishly decorated with new orchids and lanterns, has long been a wreck.

Jeremy was definitely among the four young men who were fighting like crazy. What was contrary to my expectations was that the opponent I was fighting did not seem to be Prince Nuremberg. Rather than that, it seemed that the two of them were dealing with two different Youngshiks. I don't know how the two of them became one...!

It's usually Elias who gets involved in this kind of fight, but why is Jeremy doing this? No matter how similarly hot-blooded he was, Jeremy wasn't the type to just throw his fists at him. The opponent is not even a rival of fate..

    “Brother, stop it! Calm down!”

“Stop it, big brother! Scold my mom!”

Elias, our horny pony, and the little twins are struggling to dry their eldest son instead of helping out for some reason, which, though bizarre, didn't work very well. of course.

Jeremy and Nora were only fourteen years old. And the opponents were two young-sik, who seemed to be in their late teens. Considering the age difference, there should not be a comparison, but the boys who were born with no bones and the young men who looked like they had only read books for the rest of their lives were fiercely competing.

It goes without saying that all the guests who rushed up to the scene like a playful scene where well-dressed children of the house were entangled and bitten like fighting dogs in the night market turned into a bewildered face. If you were talking about the pious cardinals, they mumbled words like prayers and drew the sign.

As I was about to intervene in a hurry, Theobald, who suddenly approached me, grabbed my shoulder and took a step forward. The Crown Prince, who had no one to follow in his position, cried out in a loud and resolute voice that cut off all the fuss.

    “It’s Huangming, everyone, stop!”

The Duke of Nuremberg was speaking. The Grand Duke of Cheol, who is in charge of one of the two pillars of aristocratic society, asked his son a question with a terribly cold face that I had never seen before.

“What on earth caused such a commotion?”

In the drawing room on the first floor, where the commotion subsided in an instant at Theobald's descent and the banquet continued as if it had ever happened, my eldest son and daughter-in-law of the Duke of Nuremberg faced off against the sons of the count, who became the nephew of Duke Heinrich.

My family and the Nuremberg family were gathered here separately after I offered a heartfelt apology to Duke Heinrich, who looked down to apologize on his behalf.

The Duke and Duchess of Nuremberg were more serious in contrast to Theobald, who just smiled with his arms crossed. The Duchess was blowing cold air, and the Duchess was constantly clasping and opening her hands with a look of restlessness.

"Nora! Why can't you answer me! No matter how immature you are, how could you have caused a commotion even in the place of the Crown Prince!”

Oh oh! Indeed, it was like a trembling chandelier on the ceiling. It seems like it's been a long time since a male adult's shout resounded in our house. Even so, the immature Confucius grimaced and wanted to glance at me for a moment, but he was still silent and refused to answer. It was the same with Jeremy, who remained silent on why they had such a fierce fight.

“Oh my gosh, look at the popped lips…! Jeremy, why are you like this? Why did you fight?”

“… Oh, I don't know. Those sloppy bastards make you mad!”

“So what? What made you so hot?”

    “….”

“Elias, do you know what your brother did?”

Elias, who was flicking his tongue at my brother with a genuinely accusatory expression, quickly shook his head from side to side.

"No. I only saw my brother and that Confucius talking on the balcony. I thought the two of them had just reconciled, so I went to see the twins as you said. Then, later, the young girls were babbling, so when I went, they were fighting with those secretives."

It wasn't very helpful information, and I looked at the twins, who were looking triumphantly at the eldest, but they didn't seem to know anything either:

"Jeremy, what the hell is that!"

“Ah, it’s really nothing…uh! Coke, Coke! Shuri, I’m sick.”

“Where is this guy going to pretend to be sick!”

"No, uh, eh! I mean, I'm really dizzy all of a sudden."

When I saw Jeremy's extraordinary behavior, holding his head weakly and burying his head on my shoulder, I was taken away from it. My heart was weakened all at once as I remembered whether or not I had this measles. Hehehe, I guess I can't help it

    crackling

sharply cutting the air, I and my children both turned their gazes at the same time with the same expression as if they had promised for a moment. It was the Duke who looked like an incarnation. Oh my, I could feel the twins holding onto my skirt. Needless to say, the air in the room froze in an instant. He pressed his hand against his forehead, but in a calm voice he commanded:

“Apologize to Madame Neuvanstein and His Majesty the Crown Prince for rudeness.”

    “….”

    "Nora!"

Nora bit her bloody lip and glanced at Theobald with blue eyes that were as cold as her father.

    "this bastard is still… …!”

    “Hey, Duke!”

The Crown Prince, who had stiffened with a shaky expression on his face, looked at me with blank eyes for some reason.

"There must have been a reason.”, shivering shoulders, but fortunately withdrew his hand.

weary. "His Majesty the Crown Prince, I hope you will kindly forgive my son for the rudeness he committed today. I think we will have to go back for a while.”

    “But, Duke….”

"Excuse me. See you next time, madam. You are here!"

    “No, that, uncle, calm down….”

Watching the Duke of Nuremberg holding her son's nape by the neck and pushing him wildly, the Duchess chasing after her while biting her lips, and the Crown Prince chasing after him with a look of bewilderment, I somehow felt an unknown pity for Confucius

. My husband had beaten Elias once for a problem with me before, but it was a bit different then and now. To be scolded so harshly in front of other children of the same age must be very shameful... .

“Shuri, are you going to hit me like that too?”

“Why, do you want to be beaten?”

“It’s not. Anyway, the duke is so angry that I’m really scared… ah!

He said that the ominous feeling is always true. It's more of a dread than a hunch, but from that day on, Jeremy really started to get sick. The disease was also measles.

    * * *

Measles, the highest dignity of the epidemic. I knew how painful it was, and the only ones in our house, me and my butler, Robert, who had already suffered from measles, were to make sure that the other employees and even the children were thoroughly banned from access

It's strange to see him constantly complaining even when he's sick. Of course, there wasn't much to say about it. It wasn't easy to watch Jeremy moan from a high fever with red spots from the nape of his neck spreading all over his body. Even though I knew it was going to get better, I couldn't help but get scared. It's ironic that even the strongest knight of the future can't help it in the face of illness.

While I was by Jeremy's side all day, Elias and I The twins also seemed terrified, and the grass seemed to have completely died. The calmness I had so longed for came to the marquis, but the air was terribly uneasy. Why did I want the children to be kind? I wanted to regain the vitality I used to have.

    “… Shuri. Are you there…?”

    "Yes. I'm here."

“Am I going to die… ? I think I am going to die.”

“Don't be stupid. Why did you die?”

"But. I can't see you being naive... ."

Jeremy was caught in an excruciatingly high fever and fell asleep and awake all day, repeatedly muttering such noises in the middle. He said he would never do ramen and even talked about what happened before my husband died:

"It's not that I didn't really hate you... I was just jealous because my father seemed to like you more than us."

“It’s okay now. It doesn’t matter if you hate it.”

“I hated that you used my mother’s room for nothing. … But I, I can’t even remember her face properly. What my mother looked like…? Shuri, do you know…?”

I knelt by the bed, put my arms in the duvet, and squeezed the fiery boy's hand. Poor bastard, the boy of the age in desperate need of a real parent... but I was the only one here. He handed over his golden hair soaked in cold sweat and kissed her pale forehead,

"I'm your mother now. Can you remember my face instead...?"

Jeremy wanted to stare at my face with her dark green eyes that had lost focus, then wrapped her arms around my neck and whispered in a deep voice:

“Let the fever go away, Shuri. Please do it.”

It would be great if I had the ability to do that. But no matter how much time I had traveled, it was impossible to go to God and argue with him.

In reality, people were more kind than God. While Jeremy was ill, he received worried letters and advice from various places. A letter of recommendation, unfamiliar medicine, etc. were sent. Among them, the special poppy candy, which the Duchess of Nuremberg sent with a brief note, was very helpful in alleviating the pain of the boy struggling with high fever.

There was one more person to thank. Prince Theobald came to visit when the cough and red spots that had been rising were finally subsiding, he said with a smile that he was sorry that he couldn't come sooner:

"I've also had measles, so I'll be fine. I'd love to see that bloody bastard get stuck and grunt."

As a result, Theobald's visit had the effect of spurring a slow-onset recovery, to be precise, returning Jeremy to his usual self, who had lost his spirit after a few days of illness

" What the hell are you doing here? It seems the Crown Prince is a very leisurely place.”

“Why, are you envious? If you are envious, you too will be reborn as a prince in your next life, bastard.”

"It's an abuse of identity. You don't even know Noblesse Obly."

… shaving as usual is a very clear sign of recovery. Where is that disgusting rim going?

“Shake it up and get up. I’m going to go hunting for a fox. Look at what’s under your mother’s eyes, you filthy bastard.”

“Any mother should be grateful for having a son as handsome as that.”

“Hey, when are you going to be humble?”

"If the day comes when His Majesty the Crown Prince can defeat me with swordsmanship, I will consider it. Shuri, I'm hungry."

All we could do was talk like that all day, but Theobald visited and spoke to Jeremy every day until he was completely healed, which allowed me to look away and comfort the three children who were completely anxious over the course of a few days. It was a kindness that made me feel sorry for not knowing that he was such a good person in the past

On the evening of the tenth day after the measles outbreak, as I watched Jeremy eat chicken soup after I saw the three other children finished eating, Theobald suddenly asked a question that even I had half-forgotten

Jeremy, who was scratching the soup plate as if resenting the pain he had suffered from being unable to do so, frowned and looked at the Crown Prince, and then all he heard was this:

"Why don't you ask your cousin?"

    “Jeremy……….”

I can't help but nag at a sick person, but I can't help but sigh. It feels like a foolish thing to have been weak in the past! The good prince smiled at me as if he was really used to the tears of lamentation.

"It's okay, madam. haha. You and him are both shutting up. Which one should I watch?"

"You seem to be hated by your cousin for quite some time. But why does he hate you so much?"

"It's sad to ask such a direct question. I can't say that I hate it. Maybe it's because I'm a teenager."

“Surprisingly, you have a strong escapism tendency.”

“Are you cowardly attacking with facts?”

“Aaaah! What are you doing to a cowardly patient?!”

I left the two of them rummaging around on the bed, and came out with a tray, handed the maids empty plates and utensils, went to the library to sort through the documents they hadn't looked at before, and finally came back to the two guys for some reason. All of them were lying on their backs, sleeping peacefully.

Suddenly, a poppy candy bottle with an open lid lying on top of a chest of drawers caught my eye. They had crushed it into powder and mixed it with milk, but I think they thought it was just candy.and swallowed, I sighed. Aren't they both old enough to eat candy?

chewedAfter correcting the posture of the young man and the boy who slept without knowing the world, he put a blanket on them.

Live and live, and we will see our eldest son’s sister-in-law and the crown prince sleeping together. He will make fun of me forever. Watching the two sleepy men, the common aspect of them flashed through my mind, and it turns out that both Theobald and Jeremy lost their birth mothers at an early age, and they were heirs to the Empire and a prestigious family, respectively. Although Theobald had a living father, the Emperor I knew was not very kind to his children

… Oh, by the way, what would happen to Prince Nuremberg? …

I was humming as I patted my hand on the soft silk blanket while thoughts of boys I had never known before were running through my head, a lullaby that I once used to sing to my twins once in the past.

… Ha ha, who will laugh when they see:

"The flowers already surround the bed and the sheep are in

The night owl sings softly, now sleep. Sleep

well, my baby my sweet baby.

dreams Standing under the protection of an angel,

dreaming of sweet dreams in paradise, sleep well, my sweetheart... … .”

    * * *

“… I'm really glad that you recovered safely. You must have suffered a lot.”

“Thank you for your concern. The items you sent were put to good use.”

It was a refreshing early winter morning when the damn sick man that had tormented my eldest son's mother-in-law had finally receded.

I had visited the Duchess of Nuremberg from early now and sat facing the Duchess in a drawing room with a different antique style from ours. After all, while I was about to visit and say thank you, the Duchess had invited me to come for tea first.

… To be honest, I was a little surprised. The symbol of the Bismarck imperial family is a white eagle clutching the snout of a beast. Among the six wild beasts that worship the eagle, the most prominent is by far the wolf in the wall, an outlying family with the most blood of the imperial family.

While our Neuvanstein family has been responsible for the material support of the imperial family, the Nuremberg family has been responsible for the stability of the imperial power and political battles. In the end, in the social world, where the ranks were divided based on the superiority of the family, it should have been the Duchess of Nuremberg, who became the current Empress's daughter, Heide von Nuremberg, but as I remember her, she wasn't the type of person who enjoyed social gatherings. He was sickly and somewhat introverted, so he did not join any faction and always maintained his absolute neutrality.

I still don't know why she looks so sad every time I look at her, but anyway, why is such a Duchess sitting at this point in time today, inviting me with an anxious expression, as if hesitating to say anything?

Heide, who had thin, weak sky-blue hair and had a soft, white body, looked like a fragile wax doll. My sympathy comes to me at the thought of a man who looks so thin and thinks that the two wolves are working hard on the backs of the rich two wolves. At last, the voice that was hesitant and unlucky was too quiet to match the appearance.

“Hey, Lady Neuwanstein… Actually, there is something I want to ask you.”

“Please? I will listen to anything I can.”

Whatever it was, it would have been advantageous to me to hold her outstretched hand first. The opportunity to recruit the Duchess of the Neutral Lands, who seldom takes sides, will soon arrive.

"That is… It has to do with my son.”

I opened my eyes wide for an instant at the words of the Duchess, who constantly wiggled her parched hands and whispered. What on earth can you ask me for a question related to Confucius?

    “If it’s a problem related to Confucius… ?”

“… As you may have already noticed, our Nora is a lonely child. I don't have any siblings, and I'm not even close to my cousins. I can't figure out why he's doing this, but I think he'll only get crooked if he goes on like this... .”

The Duchess, who let out a sigh, looked at me with deep sorrowful, water-colored eyes. I was bewildered and just listened.

“So, I wondered if my son would get better when he gets along with his wife’s children… It was marvelous to see my wife so well taken care of children despite her young age. You must have been born with it. Although she is a child who has closed her heart to me as a mother for a long time, I thought that maybe she might open her heart a little bit if she is a woman the same age as me.”

It was totally unexpected. Did I appear to be good with children? Of course, it should be much better than in the past, but it's still simmering and roasting all day.

"uh… Well, so what exactly do you want me to do? It seems that the problem of making friends with children is not something I can do about it. There must be an opportunity for them to get to know each other and get closer... .”

“So, what I want to say is… If it's not an unreasonable request, could your wife have a conversation with Nora?"

    “… … yes?"

“I know this is an annoying request. I don't blame you for rejecting it. My husband told me not to do useless things, but... A mother's heart and a father's heart must be different. Once you get closer to your wife, you will naturally become friends with your children… .”

It was not that I couldn't understand the feelings of the Duchess, who was so revealing to me. Still, it was quite puzzling. I've only met him twice, but I don't think he's that incompetent.

Besides, as a youngster (at least in the eyes of others) who has just met a guy who doesn't listen to his parents, what do I believe can be done? No matter how much I think about it, it feels like there is some strange reason for that belief...

Still, is it because of his sympathy for the Duchess, or is it because of his compassion for the boy who will become Jeremy's best rival? It would have been right to refuse that my house lion cubs were enough, but for some reason I was hesitant.

It was then that the butler's voice resounded along with the loud footsteps. I and Heide both turned their heads at the same time.

“Young master? Where have you been without a word?”

    "Never mind!"

… It’s really strange. It seems that the image has changed since the first time we met. At that time, he was still a bit rough, but he seemed like a kind guy…?

    “Nora, where are you

    “Nice to meet you, Confucius.”

Whether my mother called or not, Confucius, who was going straight up the stairs to the upper floor without turning his head, suddenly wanted to stop, and then he turned to us

. Please don't put on a ghastly face. I didn't know that you were the apostle of justice, you bastard!

Look at what she's saying. What's so speculative? It's so sad to see the Duchess' face pale like a corpse. As I quickly grabbed her hand and smiled okay, Confucius said, "What's that?" It made a kick, but it was blunt and ran up the stairs. Oh my gosh, it's like seeing Elias when he was 15. It's pretty sad to see the Duchess holding out a handkerchief like a blue butterfly's wing, she can't even open her mouth and wipes her tears. In the end, I felt like a person who sold my soul to the devil, and I spit it out:

    “For once… I’ll try.”

Unsurprisingly, the eyes of the duchess, who were full of tears, immediately shone brightly. There is nothing I can do now. I guess I am destined to take charge of the children of other people as always...

! For the time being, I personally visited the duke's residence and made an oath to deal with the rebellious wolf cub for an hour a day. Who knows what will happen if you face rivals blindly

"For now, I think it would be better for me to come here. I'll see."

"still… Then I will send Nora there on the first day and ask her to bring her.”

He seems to be terrified at the thought that he might get away with an appropriate excuse after I do this to this weak wife. No, I shouldn't even be dreaming.

    * * *

“Don't follow me! Where is the guy who will only be a hindrance who can't even understand the subject and can't tell when to join and not to join?"

“Who should interrupt?! I'm going to catch a lot more than you, right? Brother, don't get in the way!"

“The flying bird was laughing and crashing into the castle tower, and it sat down with a sound of fainting. If you catch even one, I am your brother!”

“Then the older brother becomes the younger one?”

“What else are you saying? Ah-oh….”

“Mom, can’t I tell my brothers to go quickly?”

oh my, don't be crazy Me and Nadama are happy to see this commotion again and again.

On a nice early winter afternoon on a relatively warm day, Jeremy and Elias, who had become so healthy that they wondered when they had all died of measles, put on their new hunting suits, and were getting ready to go on a fox hunt invited by Prince Theobald. Haha, even in the past, around this time of the year, I was starting to get a taste for hunting.

As for the kind Prince Theobald, even after Jeremy had fully recovered, he would visit our mansion from time to time. To meet outside like today, or to walk in person when you have to call Jeremy to the imperial palace, is truly an easygoing Crown Prince.

… Were you a very shy person from the beginning? It seems to be happening more and more often than in the past.

“Come on, all the foxes will run away while you fight like that. Let's go! Be careful and don’t overdo it.”

“If something like a fox ran away, would it be able to avoid the lion?”

Jeremy, who was proudly bubbly like a talented person who was far from a virtue such as humility, burst into laughter. Then he wrapped his quiver around like a purplish one and looked at me with emerald-green eyes that were both healthy and mischievous.

“I wish you luck. I’ll make you a fox scarf with the first one you catch.”

“Yeah, I’m really looking forward to it.”

“Goodbye, bro! Bring me a baby fox to raise me!”

    “Mine too! Bring two!”

"under! If he catches even one cub, I swear he will call me hyung!”

    “No, but this is….”

The two guys on horseback and the knights who followed them hurriedly passed through the main gate at last. I must mourn in advance for the poor forest friends who have to deal with the pursuit of those ferocious lion cubs and young eagles.

During the day, when Jeremy and Elias had gone hunting, I had a lot of fun with the twins until the Siesta time, when Prince Nuremberg was supposed to come. After riding horses on a pony, catching tag and even playing hide and seek, time had passed.

After instructing the maids to give the twins a snack and a nap, I, too, prepared to visit the duke's house. In fact, it would be fortunate if it was fortunate that the two sons went out early just in time for today.

    “Hey, ma’am?”

    "yes?"

I had Gwen brush my hair and turned around, but there was Robert with a bewildered look, which is rare these days. Needless to say, my heart was pounding for a moment.

"What's up? In case of an accident... … .”

“No, my lord. It's not like that... Now outside the mansion are Viscount Ighoeffer and those who claim to be minors. What should I do?”

In an instant, my mind went white. My mother and brother came to visit... ?

Ah yes... almost forgot In the meantime, I had instructed Robert to sort out all communications from Neuvanstein's side, as well as from my parents' side. It had only been a while since I had defeated my brother, and I had no idea my mother would act so quickly.

Gwen, who was brushing his hair with a silver brush, shot Robert's scolding glances at Robert as if my expression didn't seem too unusual. Robert coughed.

“I don’t think we need to meet, madam. We'll take care of sending it back....”

    "no."

    "Yes?"

“Bring them into the drawing room on the side of the annex. Because we had to meet once anyway.”

I remember the last time I met my mother in the past. My lover, who was hired by contract, sat next to me, facing my mother who was accusing me of being a crazy bitch.

The contract mercenary at the time didn't even tell me whether it was because he was too addicted to acting or because he felt sympathy for me, but he acted like a garbage bum and made my mother run out with a shiver. That was the last thing I remember of my mother.

It might have been better to just kick them out, but I wanted to make sure I did it myself this time. So that he will never try to approach me, this mansion, or even the children again in the future. I never intended to let my family members mess around with my children.

Furthermore, at this point in time, where many things have changed since we went back in time, I had a vague feeling that I might be able to find out something I didn't know before. Of course, purely informational.

Fortunately, both sons and daughter-in-law are out and the twins are asleep. Confucius still had a long way to go. And this was inside my mansion with loyal knights. It won't take long for me to properly deal with my family and get rid of them completely.

Ok, I was curious about one little detail and spent a lot of time I don’t have looking for answer but couldn’t find it here in the thread. I might have missed it while rereading 54 pages (btw thanks to all the wonderful people giving all the spoilers and having fun discussions). So I finally looked it up on namu wiki and found it:

Jeremy is 3 months older than Nora.

I just find it so hilarious that his future stepdad is younger and find that it makes all their later interactions even funnier.

I heard that spoiler about johannes abusive & beat to shuri....i think people are misunderstanding what actually happened in the novel, he didn’t continuously abvse her so badly she forgot it was one instance, when she got a gift from her friend and johannes beat her so badly for it it scared her into running away in the middle if winter to go back home where she begged her family to let her stay and not send her back but her family forced her to go back to him in that state and the shock of the whole thing her lose her memory basically, so it was the fear+adrenaline from running in the snow+and stress that made her lose her memory! Is that truue spoiler????

Guys, I can't understand something. I read chapter 19 of the second volume of the manhwa. Is it just me or does Nora remember her first life too? He says, "Again, that's the only way I can help you." In a past life, he also said that he could not help much, watching her for many years from the shadows. And also when Nora gave Shuli a green brooch for her birthday. When she died, Nora found this brooch among the evidence and took it for himself. Maybe he remembered a past life, and then among the things he found a brooch that he could have kept?

I don't think so? It's probably just a reflection of his powerlessness and inability to help as a child (pre time skip).

I have only read the mahwa and not the novel so I am talking about the court trial that took place in the manhwa. The court trial originally took place in order to punish Jeremy because he harmed the crown prince. It's quite obvious that if Jeremy had a high status like the Marquis title he is to inherit when he's older, he would likely face a less severe punishment. As you said, if Shuri was still a virgin she would not be seen as a "lawfully bedded wife" which would mean that the marriage between her and Johannes was a sham. This would also mean that since she is not seen as his 'legally bedded wife' she would technically not be able to hold the proper authority of a marchioness, meaning that the eldest son Jeremy would automatically hold the authority and power of the marquis as he is the successor. I pretty much mean that Shuri probably gave up her authority as marchioness in order to lessen the consequences Jeremy would have to face for injuring the crown prince.

Can anyone explain the most recent chapter of the manhwa (ch 93)? Shuli is super upset to see the necklace which makes since since it’s from the crown prince but she also brings up her past life? I’m confused.

Hi!! Is the novel available in playbook? Or like any other platform where an international buyer can get a copy of the novel?
