    I'm thankful to the translators for putting effort in translating novels and posting them for public access just gotta ask, why do some label
    • a part 2 of Chapter 1 as Chapter 2;
    • part 3 of Chapter 1 as Chapter 3;
    • part 1 of Chapter 2 as Chapter 4 and so on?
    Nothing much, I just felt a bit uncomfortable.

    There's this point where I lost my temper for a novel reaching about hundreds but the story was going nowhere near being resolved. I really felt so disappointed and thought that the author rushed it so I want to finish the last few chapters already so I can drop a rating if it could salvage it or it's just plain hopeless for my preference. I was a little bit surprised that the chapter I clicked was nowhere where the translation stopped. The status in it's NU page was completed at 100-120 so I was disgruntled then I had to check the work if I really browsed was the right item lol. It was at that moment when I reread the work that I realized the actual progress was only at 30s and nowhere near half it's completion.

    I imagine it has something to do with Patreon advance access, that is to say, how willing one would be to shell out dough to read 'five chapters' ahead in comparison with getting to read 'five parts of a chapter' in advance.

    as a tler, i really dislike it when some tlers do this too. i guess it’s possibly to give off an illusion that they’re translating more chapters

    Exactly what I think!

    I'm thankful to the translators and their work but I think splitting chapters as for example chapter 1 part 1, chapter 1 part 2,... is so much better.

    One time I started a 100+ chapter completed novel thinking the translation is nearly complete but I read them all and the story wasn't going anywhere until I realized it's just 25 chapters from original that was translated.

    :blob_plusone: I think it's this, too. Most translators who I notice renaming their chapters are usually the same ones who have advance chapters you can buy.

    You can pay for a 3k word chapter 3 times as "3 chapters" instead of just "1 chapter", which is more money for them.

    It's an act of deception. That's about it.
