I have noticed that I barely spare a glance toward stuff with less than 4 stars rating, and I know at least one case where this isn't really indication of quality (Ze Tian Ji), but I also don't want to spend ages going through garbage to find gold so here I am. Give me novels you feel were unfairly reviewed/review bombed, which you still enjoyed and would heartily recommended. Or anything that has a strong pleb filter, The Path Toward Heaven wasn't so well received because people were confused from chapter 1 to 200, but it was still a great experience to me. Rereading it was an eye opener.
The adored koi in the 90's is a pretty good read it's not as great as the other's but it definitely deserved a lot more than 3 stars rating
Emperor of Solo Play - (completed) in my opinion, this novel is written way better than several of the author's later novels (which read like the author wasn't even trying). Upgrade Specialist in Another World - (completed) one of my favorites. No harem, not a murder hobo, actually has friends instead of an ever changing set of temporary travel companions. Silver Overlord - (abandoned) one of my favorites. No harem, not a murder hobo, after staying at the Imperial Capital for a few years to train, the MC returns to this home town to develop the region. Nine Star Hegemon Body Art - harem, MC is a murder hobo but it's due to his fate being the antithesis of the Heavens itself, so the Heavens moves the world to kill him. The MC takes on people, and makes real effort to power level and protect them.
I personally like Yama Rising, but a lot of people don't agree with me. I guess it's the kitsch comedy? If this were a year ago, I'd say Super Dimensional Wizard, but somehow its rating has risen from 3.9 to 4.3. If you do try it, just be warned that it's really slow.
