So, I finished the first book and am in the second one out 6 total. It is something that makes you laugh, with a slightly more darker than average tone. FL is shameless and it adds levity, but honestly she lived an extremely hard life both former and current. This makes everyone around her speechless, since she uses her own life experiences to basically build a play. A play of a happy family and loving brothers... Which everyone acknowledges at first proudly as fake, until it becomes real for everyone except her. Which is where we are now in second book. Spoiler: Book One - Summary Okay, so she goes into caretaking mode for Elbert - the Duke's youngest abused and abandoned son at her orphanage. Because of various incidents and Elberts efforts she gets adopted from there when the Duke shows up for his son. He claimed adoption is for payment of saving his son. As soon as they are away from eyes he tells her coldly he will torture her and abandon her if she doesn't do her job as a charity case for the family. In this case lowering the guard of all the other nobles with an extravagant good deed and through pity for her she needs to prove useful or get thrown. This sets the stage and cemented to her the role she needs to survive. As time goes by she realizes they're sociopaths that have zero social skills. She created the script when he used her to steal at her first banquet, he got caught killing the guard dogs of the item. She pretends for their first family play the dog viciously bit her... she bit herself extremely hard in front of the duke as she found him, immediately misdirected the situation as her having wondered and her dad saved her. This leads to him believing in the play when they both walk Scott free from the theft. With the item. Lol, she's all about survival and the duke is aware because she stabs him at any unwanted affection. She said her fake bros were cooler than that ragged teacher. Sends her out after a long abusive session and Benin who was standing there finally freaked from worry. He helps her memorize easy statements before the duke shows to check what the teacher said, then duke walks off without their knowledge with the papers showing the illiterate attempts at writing for the first time. He's attached at this point, saves it saying to himself they did a proper play. Can't believe Benin followed her so well and to himself says that this is the only time he can see such first attempts. Acknowledged to himself it was cute and that she obviously was intelligent enough. He wasn't even mad, just disgusted with the teacher for being a shameless b****. Lol. That was a highlight. Anyway, the family looks real and unfortunately for them it's just them attached. Because she stabs them with "Don't Pretend." This happens very often as they can't shut it off anymore. She is getting annoyed, one time he attempts horsey by holding her on the Duke's back during research/social attempts with another Noble and their daughter. He wanted to emulate their play, but knocked her head on the ceiling and she chewed him out. Freaking hilarious that she just scolded him outright and he apologized about being over zealous. As for MLs, it might be this manipulative thing called Kai. He's a red dragon, to the Duke's family silver dragon. The dragons show up as guardians and you find out behind the scenes, that they shoved this kid Kai and her new brother Elbert that they "must have her". She is like some kind of luck item they want sadly, so yes he's targeted her from beginning. Same with Elbert who was told if he took her that he would get whatever he wanted the most. Kai met her at same first banquet she had to bite herself to injury at, he stole her away from other Nobles and monopolized her through an awkward escort. Tried to get a fiancee promise insidiously too you find out, he just played a naive fool but this guy is a triggered Yandere I bet. Stalker and targeted her from beginning, hope he's the sub male lead. He's an OG sub male lead from original story. He took her around and then actually kept dancing with her, trying to get her to come to his house later or go to hers. As for her impending death, that was actually a situation where the duke apparently used her though didn't k*ll her outright. That was mentioned in beginning and of course a lot he mentioned abandoning her to starv* if she didn't prove useful. I'm in second book now.... There's a Festival, the family is going and vf while exchanging letters with Kai through jealous interventions by her new brothers she was invited. Which the duke stopped and then Kai just shows up stalker style and with no notice after she sent his rejection. Weird and kinda annoying Kai... Will update more later.
Okay, speeding right along and may finish the 4th book.... I'm mid book three now out of 6. Spoiler: Spoilers - Book 2 Summary The boy Kai, was being a stalker and showed up with his p*mp the cardinal dragon. The dragon caused a huge incident to try to lure her ten year old self off for being a living artifact that can fix Kai when he merges. She apparently is a tranquilizer for the nasty side effects of merging. She's been subconsciously using it for over 6 years on the duke you find out later when she's 16. It saved him from going mentally ill further. He's trash, but better than Kai who wants her with an agenda as his artifact from day one. The dragon during this meeting, he is insulting and treats her like a sl*ve object that he will swindle into being tied to the cardinal dragon's laptland family. Offered her a half arsed version of a proposal to Kai and try's to take off with her till she goes off on him. She confronts Kai about this, after the duke rescued her from a kidnapping. The dragon left her at Festival in middle of nowhere to get attacked after she told him off. After she's back, the duke and her do their one dance for the 6 years together in front of the dukedom common people for the Festival End. Which he only ever did with his now dead wife. It was awkward for him the next day and he wiped his memory of it from embarrassing feelings. Kai is officially kicked after his P*mp cardinal dragon revealed everything. He couldn't say shiz, after Festival and had to come out that yes he targeted her from day one. She told him to get lost basically and they only exchanged one more letter as pen pals before he's kicked for 6 years. The duke is totally attached at the point he saved her during kidnapping. He's now full Yandere with her brothers too, about other boys. Even his own sons get kicked off to academy and she's forced to stay at the Duke's with him alone... he is totally clingy. She's totally not and still goes off about them doing all this as a play. She's mad at sixteen that he told her to just stay forever randomly. She claimed he's being weird and throws a tantrum to go to academy too. She misses the brothers and ends up enrolled in a no dating temple school she's locked at for a year....with weekends st a town house the duke followed her all the way to Capitol snd won't go back the full year. He kicked the other brother back to the dukedom to take care of it instead. She starts avoiding him after meeting the god who created the novel world and is gifted with foresight that is literally just 10 seconds ahead. She is now in danger of the duke harvesting the ability and experimentation on herself for it. It shows as a pull like thing in the body, the duke looks them up and theift of one was what led to the old guard dog incident at first banquet he used her at. So she's worried. The time for her death through the Duke lines up to current time at 16. The duke followed her around and finally found out about it, plus she ran into the 3 son who was MIA. He's merged souls with her old brother from korea that was looking for her after she disappeared. He's her bro from her OG orphanage in korea. She's an orphan twice over now, but tl is different and he's been there a year at that point with the oldest brother still awake inside the body. She's been there just over 6 years. He came after finding her comment which the creator sent her from. On the Webnovel. He found her last site and read it to be cursed to come into the book too at a later time. Lmao. She's been in contact with the oldest while avoiding the duke and planned to run away. The duke knows and basically assigned her protection through a mini dragon made with his blood. Bodies that have the pill sized power up energy stone for abilities are harvested. He gives it and acknowledged it surveillance also. This is just before he fought with the MIA and now found trying to run with his daughter oldest son. He's pissed, they make a bet about her running too. He claimed that basically he'd take her if anything happenedor she wants it. Duke is upset, but waived it off giving her the surveillance item to track her instead. It's a mini dragon from his direct blood lett***. Kai shows back up as the brothers and her are getting closer, while she's temping at the temple with OG saint FL as her first friend she's being bullied and targeted for Romance that makes her family crazy. Either Kai or the transmigration of bro from korea and the MIA son of the duke in one body will be the ML. I already know it's not the son she saved at orphanage, tho he's creeping on her just as bad as Kai from beginning.
