It’s exactly like Mona said, it’s ridiculous that he went to her to asked to be cured when he humiliated her and her entire family by abandoning her on the altar. Also, he knew that it was Mona and Mu who schemed first to make his illness worse by releasing all the infos to trigger him, yet he went to her for help? Stupid doesn’t even express his decision. This man is made of poor decisions, everything he decided to “protect” the one he loves, ends up being a suffering for the intended party. He decided to break up, he decided that Nina’s child is not his despite being told otherwise, he decided to openly agree to do the engagement oath (he didn’t think that it will torture Nina? He didn’t think that, that will hurt her even more and made her hate him, which what happened), he decided to go to his enemy for treatments (what a joke), he decided to go to the hotel to spend the night with another woman, albeit had another plan, but why agree in the first place? he decided to kill Mona then himself (talk about selfish, only thinking about himself)...all the sufferings started with him, happened due to him, from the beginning to the end. Nina has been suffering throughout their “relationships” no break but a momentary happiness that seems more like an illusions.

*sigh* I was prepared for their breakup and all since its been spoiled long ago but I'm just waiting till Nina gives birth, Mona suffers (as much as I'd like Aubrey to suffer more, he's suffering in itself plus I knew what I came for when I read this series), and have mother-in-law eat her heart out when Nina's lineage is revealed. Novel wise, how far are we till Aubrey's double suicide event? Nina meets her bio mom and gives birth? I haven't followed this series ever since Mona showed off her true colors and our leads regretted ever coming to ask for treatment. I also saw snippets of the breakup and the latest raws (490)

Hey could you please give me some spoilers.. like is the manhua following the novel completely like they aren't Missing out or altering anything?? And does this story have a tragic ending or normal happy ending?? And did aubrey LITERALLY sleep with another woman while Nina was there? And does charles suffers from amnesia again by the end of the novel??

I only know a few spoilers cause I skimmed through

- I believe they found the real mother and his missing child(?). The child seems to have all kinds of diseases and mental disorders apparently.
- MC has a twin brother, he died. I think it was said he liked wearing womens clothing.
- ML had a brother, his brother knew the MC's brother, they were childhood friends. His brother died the same time as the MC's brother but was somewhere else when it happened.
- ML thinks somethings going on but doesn't know what it is and needs to investigate further
- MC gets pregnant and is trapped in a tower due to the ML's mother for 6 months. She had no cell phone, no computer, no nothing. She was praying for the ML to save her. She went into labor after finding out the ML was going to make wedding vows with a woman (I think her name is Mona(?))
- MC hates the ML so much, she engraved how she hated him on the wall(?) the ML saw it and was heart broken
- MC gives birth to twins! One boy one girl.
- I think the MC named her daughter relating to sunflowers because her daughter gave her hope for the future and was basically the only thing to sooth her heart after the whole ordeal.

- News paper say MC has a new man (guy who saved her) making ML very very angry and jealous
- Apparently the guy faked his death and when the ML saw him he was startled and angry to find out he had been living in the same building as the MC
- During the engagement party, the ML look like he was helping prepare a wedding with him and Mona, but in reality, it was for him and the MC
- His servant tricks the MC into coming to the party because the ML's disorder was making him suicidal, MC shows up, ML shows up giving her a wedding dress to put on

- I skipped a bit forward after this-- Mona dies 5 yrs later after a incident where she was holding the MC's son and threatening to kill him, it ends with the ML(?) or a sniper shooting her in the eye.
- They take the son to the hospital where the MC told him to open his mouth because it was bleeding, he had something in his mouth (forgot what it was) which apparently was his gift to the MC. He proceeds to tell the ML that he doesn't want him as a father. ML tells him too bad.

okay omfg...first of alll thanks man seriously. For all the spoilers..ik this is prettyyy late for me to reply and all. But literally thanks i legit wanted genuine spoilers but couldn't find it anywhere. Where did you read the novel tho? All the sites have bad translations and novelupdates doesn't update it anymore. I actually read the manhua but it's not completed yet...and i legit wanted to know what happened I was so desperate lol so thank you ( ◜‿◝ )♡.

Shi Xiaonian (Nina) eventually gets over her mental barrier with the help of Gong Ou (Aubery) and she falls in love with him. She confesses to him and accepts being his lover, only with the condition that he must not make her a mistress. He agrees and they start dating. He announces to the whole world that she is his girlfriend. During this time, Mu Qianchu (Charles), seeing that he can't beat Gong Ou's destructing power, decides to give up and go abroad. But the plane he boards crashes and Shi Xiaonian is distraught. They can't even find the body. His family blames her for his death. She simply tries to forget him to get rid of her guilt. Meanwhile, they destroy Shi Di (Shi Xiaonian's adopted sister)'s career to get revenge for the time Shi Xiaonian was despised by everyone. Gong Ou's family objects to their relationship, since they plan to get him engaged to Mona Lancaster, the daughter of a European noble family. His mother, Luo Qi, comes from Britain to solve the problem. Shi Xiaonian tries to leave a good impression on her but Luo Qi refuses to accept Shi Xiaonian as her son's partner. She tells her that it's OK to be his lover, his mistress, but he will marry a noble woman worth their family's status no matter what. Shi Xiaonian firmly refuses to be his mistress and neither one of them is able to persuade the other. Later on, Shi Di tries to get revenge on Shi Xiaonian, cooperating with Gong Ou's mother to get her raped by several men. Shi Xiaonian is then kidnapped and beaten unconscious, and when she wakes up she finds her body showing signs of assault. Still, even though she was unconscious and doesn't have any memories of the time, remembering the sensation whenever Gong Ou forced himself on her, she feels that she was not raped, just beaten black and blue. Gong Ou comes to her rescue, only to find her in an extremely miserable state. On her face is written several words like "Gong Ou's woman is really delicious", and Gong Ou snaps right at that moment. Shi Xiaonian tries to tell him that she was not raped but is unable to convince him. He firmly believes that she was raped, and is incredibly furious. Shi Xiaonian desperately tries to prove her innocence but Gong Ou doesn't even let her explain, he refuses to believe her because she was unconscious at the time and it's not possible for her to clearly remember the events. He doesn't think Shi Xiaonian is lying, he thinks she only says what she wants to believe, she refuses to believe the truth. He tells her he will love her no matter what. He finds out that while it was the work of Shi Di, it was actually his mother who arranged the kidnapping. Luo Qi planned this, thinking that her son would leave Shi Xiaonian if he thought the woman was ruined. However, Gong Ou refuses to leave her even if she is dirty, and chases his mother away from his castle. Shi Xiaonian talks to Luo Qi before she leaves to Britain, and learns that she really was not raped after all, for no matter how cruel Luo Qi was she couldn't bear to ruin a woman. If it was Shi Di who arranged the men, she definitely wouldn’t have mercy no matter what, but Luo Qi couldn't be so merciless. She simply designed the scene to make them think so. After Luo Qi leaves, Gong Ou takes revenge on Shi Xiaonian's adopted family. He sends them away to a faraway country to live the rest of their lives in poverty. A few weeks later Shi Xiaonian finds out that she is pregnant and is extremely happy at the news. She thinks Gong Ou would also be very happy, since that was what he wanted for so long. But when she tells him the news, he is very angry and upset. While she is surprised at his unexpected reaction, she finds out that Gong Ou still doesn't believe that she wasn't raped, and because the timing matches perfectly with the day of her kidnapping he thinks the child is not his but the rapists’. He tries to give her medicine to make her have abortion but Shi Xiaonian refuses to kill the child in her womb. She tries to persuade him once again that the child is his but Gong Ou still refuses to believe her. After a long period of fighting, she finds out that the reason Gong Ou tries to make her have abortion is because he believes that Shi Xiaonian will leave him when she gives to birth to another man's child. He doesn't want her to leave him no matter what so he insists on killing the child. Shi Xiaonian refuses and she eventually convinces Gong Ou to keep the child, though he still doesn't believe the child is his, but Shi Xiaonian doesn't mind since the truth would prevail once the child was born. Shi Xiaonian is very happy to finally have a family with the man she loves but she is worried about the future, she doesn't want her child to have a paranoid father. She wants them all to be happy. So she proposes Gong Ou to seek for treatment for his illness. She convinces him with sweet words and Gong Ou agrees to give it a try. They seek for a renowned psychiatrist to treat him, and the psychiatrist they find turns out to be none other than the intended fiancée of Gong Ou, Mona, who goes by another name in medical world. She acts so sweet and friendly and promises to help Gong Ou heal, convincing them of her earnestness. Thus, they begin the treatment with Mona. After a while, Shi Xiaonian finds out that Mona has been in love with Gong Ou for a long time so she feels anxious to have her by his side, since they spend so much time together for the treatment. She tells Gong Ou of her worries, who also found out about the feelings of Mona, but he appeases her and tells her not to worry since he would never cheat on her. Right when Shi Xiaonian was feeling bitter about the closeness between Gong Ou and Mona, Gong Ou proposes marriage to Shi Xiaonian. She is extremely delighted and accepts with joy, very happy that she could finally have a home. After that, Gong Ou receives an intel about something he asked his men to investigate, and starts to act strangely around Shi Xiaonian. Shi Xiaonian doesn't know the reason but simply feels weird about his change of heart. Then suddenly, Gong Ou wants to break up with Shi Xiaonian, much to her disbelief. She doesn't take his demand seriously and simply refuses to leave him. He keeps insisting on breaking up with ridiculous reasons and intimidates her when she refuses. Mona tells her that she was just an emotional pet to him, and he didn't really love her, he was simply obsessed with her because of his illness. Now, since he started to heal of his illness with her treatment, his obsession for her started to fade away. After a week of intimidation, Shi Xiaonian agrees to break up when she sees Gong Ou and Mona intimately close together, thinking that he really didn't love her anymore and she was just a tool he was obsessed with because of his illness. They sign a breakup contract just as they did when they first started living together, and Shi Xiaonian tells him angrily that he was right, she had lied all along, she remembered the events of that night clearly and she really was raped, and the child was not his. Gong Ou, who didn't believe her in the first place all this time, is simply bittersweet. Gong Ou says he wants to break up with her peacefully without any hard feelings but Shi Xiaonian refuses and tells him that she wants to break off all ties with him. He agrees without any choice. They hold a press conference telling everyone that they are breaking up peacefully. Thus Shi Xiaonian leaves him and moves to a small apartment on her own, her only companion MR Gong whom Gong Ou left with her. She has a very difficult time as an abandoned pregnant woman but tries to stay strong for the sake of her baby. Meanwhile, Gong Ou keeps tailing her without her knowledge, and plants surveillance cameras in her apartment. He also has a difficult time and refuses to eat food cooked by people other than Shi Xiaonian. He sneaks in her apartment when she is out to steal some of the food she cooked from the fridge. Shi Xiaonian notices that the amount of food in her fridge decreased and contacts Gong Ou to threaten him that if he keeps sneaking in her apartment, she will call the cops to arrest him. He denies the accusement and Shi Xiaonian really calls the cops. They have an argument at the police station and Gong Ou leaves feeling depressed. He goes to the luxurious apartment at Port of Heaven where they had lived together in when they first signed the contract and he sees several comics drawn by Shi Xiaonian on the wall. The comics tell their story together and Shi Xiaonian's love for him, and eventually them breaking up, with Shi Xiaonian's heartbreak. It ends with a line of words from Shi Xiaonian: "What home were you talking about? Don't lie to me." Gong Ou is distraught at the sight and feels extremely bitter. On the other side, Shi Xiaonian goes for a checkup on her baby's condition and she learns that she has twins. She doesn't know whether to be happy or sad, as she is happy to have twins but bitter at the thought that she can't even share the joyful news with the father of her children. In a daze, she goes to the apartment in Port of Heaven to celebrate the news that she has twins by herself. Meanwhile, Gong Ou is still inside the apartment and lying on the bed, starving because he didn't eat anything for a long time. Shi Xiaonian comes to the apartment and draws another comic depicting her checkup on the hospital that day on the wall before she cooks a feast for herself to celebrate. When Gong Ou wakes up, he sees Shi Xiaonian and hides away to prevent her from discovering his presence. He watches her celebrating the joyful news by herself, though he doesn't know what joyous thing is there to celebrate. After eating by herself, having cooked too much for a single person to eat, Shi Xiaonian decides to feed the rest to the stray cats. Hearing her intention to throw away the food, Gong Ou calls her phone secretly to threaten her of arresting her because she stole his stuff when she was in the castle. Panicking at the thought that the police wouldn’t find her when they arrive at her house, she leaves the apartment in a haste leaving the dishes she cooked laying on the kitchen. Gong Ou stores the food in the fridge, planning to eat them bit by bit to prolong the time. After Shi Xiaonian leaves, she sees that there are no cops coming after her after all. The next day, she finds out that Gong Ou is secretly helping her by investing a huge amount of money for the drama adaptation of her comics. Suspicious, she returns to Port of Heaven only to find the food she left the previous day stored properly in the fridge and Gong Ou sleeping in the bedroom. She talks to Gong Ou after he wakes up and he is shocked to see her, immediately reprimanding her. She questions him for her suspicions but gives up when Gong Ou says he stored the food just to feed the stray cats. She tells him to feed the cats together much to his displeasure. They go out together to feed the cats as it rains outside and she asks him several questions, trying to find out if he still has feelings for her, only to hear that he doesn't love her anymore and he is developing a relationship with Mona. Mona appears in front of them and humiliates Shi Xiaonian, kissing Gong Ou in front of her. Shi Xiaonian leaves after bitterly giving them her blessings as she drenches in the rain. After returning home she gets sick with fever. With no one but MR Gong to take care of her, she is in a very pitiful state. At night, she hears sounds coming from outside her door. She feels very scared of thieves in darkness as there is also a power outage, with MR Gong also out of power. She calls for the ambulance and waits for them to arrive, she feels extremely sick as she keeps vomiting and feels her consciousness fading. Right then, Gong Ou, who learned of her situation as he was monitoring her apartment, arrives, and takes her to the hospital. He tells the hospital staff to tell Shi Xiaonian it was the ambulance that saved her. The doctors do as Gong Ou says and Shi Xiaonian believes them with no other choice. As she wonders in her mind about what happened the previous night, vaguely remembering Gong Ou coming to her rescue, she concludes that she was just having a hallucination. Meanwhile, Gong Ou regrets agitating her to the extent she would fall sick with fever like that, blaming Mona for appearing out of nowhere like that, wondering if the decision he made was the right one. He faces his contradictions, realizing that what he had done to protect Shi Xiaonian, to keep her safe was actually hurting her more, she wasn't safe when she was away from him at all with how she was currently sick. Mona talks him out of his thoughts but then Gong Ou realizes it was Mona who brainwashed him all along, making him think this decision was the right one. Agonizing over his mistake, he decides to take Shi Xiaonian back to his side to never leave her ever again, he takes his leave to the hospital. As he arrives at the hospital, mysterious men disguised as staffs come to the hospital ward of Shi Xiaonian and kidnap her. Gong Ou frantically searches for her when he finds out she is nowhere to be seen in her ward but to no avail. Shi Xiaonian is then taken to a faraway place where she learns she was kidnapped by Gong Ou's mother who learned of her pregnancy from Mona. Mona was beside them when Shi Xiaonian declared the child was not Gong Ou's in her moment of burst of emotions. Mona also thought the baby was the rapists’ but Luo Qi knew the truth better than her, as she was the who instigated the kidnapping. Shi Xiaonian wasn't really raped and she knew the child was actually her son's. Shi Xiaonian is taken to a secluded tower by seaside where she is to be confined till the babies are born, with a team of renowned gynecologists and capable servants to serve her. She is hopelessly trapped at that place, she feels despair as her only trace of hope, her children are to be taken from her when they are born to be raised in the noble Gong family as successors. Meanwhile, as Gong Ou desperately tries to find her, he suspects Mona of kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He interrogates and tortures her endlessly but all Mona says is that she wasn’t the one who did it and she didn’t know where Shi Xiaonian was. Stubbornly believing it was Mona who kidnapped Shi Xiaonian, driven insane at the thought of her being dead, Gong Ou refuses to eat or drink till he finds Shi Xiaonian. At a moment of dreaming in a haze, he sees Shi Xiaonian reprimanding him for being so useless, telling him to quickly come to her rescue. Regaining his composure, with the help of several clues, he comes to a conclusion that she is taken by his mother as he notices that Shi Xiaonian was right, the child was his after all. He grieves over not trusting her all this time, only hurting her. He leaves for Britain and interrogates his mother for Shi Xiaonian’s whereabouts but Luo Qi refuses to admit to kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He doesn't believe her lies and keeps on urging for her to tell, threatening her with taking his own life. Luo Qi comes to an agreement that she would tell her whereabouts only if he agreed to marrying Mona and making Shi Xiaonian his mistress. Gong Ou refuses to accept such conditions but is desperate with no other choice. He eventually agrees, planning in his mind that he would find her once they showed their weakness. So, the engagement between him and Mona is planned to take place several months later. Meanwhile, Shi Xiaonian suffers indescribably as she waits for the day her children are born in grief, with no one to trust nor love. She hears the news of Gong Ou’s upcoming engagement from the staff who accompany her in the tower. Their only purpose is to humiliate and dishearten her further by letting her hear how great Gong Ou is, and how his N.E. is prospering even more so than ever. Initially, she was hoping Gong Ou would come to her rescue one day, saving her from her endless agony, but eventually she could only lose all her faith as she heard of his news, how he never cared for her whereabouts. Her love and affection towards him turns into intense hatred, pure resentment and grief. She pours all the negative emotions she feels in her confinement to hatred for him, also experiencing severe pain from her pregnancy all along. She would double up endlessly as she cried and shout out in agony from her cramps and pain, all the more painful than normal as she was having a nervous breakdown. She would carve down with her nails on the head of her bed, on the woods, how much she hated Gong Ou for making her into this state. She also drew a picture book depicting her days of pregnancy without all the painful details, only the funny and blissful parts, for her children, and entrusted it to the butler who took care of her to give it to her children once they grew up, hoping they wouldn’t resent their pitiful mother so much for leaving them. One day, she meets a doctor on her usual checkups who tells her he will save her from that place, however she refuses to trust him. He only tells her that he is from her biological family, and he will save her. She is shocked to hear of her biological family but she still chooses to be wary. As the due date of birth comes closer, a week before, she hears the servants talking of the engagement oath ceremony of Gong Ou that will take place that day, and how joyous everyone in the Gong family was. Feeling very bitter at the news, agitated, she feels pain and gives birth a week earlier than the due date. Her birth is a very painful one, as she screams nonstop but no one cares. She could vaguely see a man helping her as she was lost in pain, and that man was none other than Mu Qianchu who was supposed to be dead on a plane crash. He tells her he will save her from that place along with her children, only if she trusts in him and promises never to be afflicted with Gong Ou ever again. Feeling that he is the only person she can trust, Shi Xiaonian agrees without hesitation. After she gives birth to her children, a girl and a boy, she falls unconscious. Then a huge clash happened at the tower as all the bodyguards, servants and doctors fall one by one. She is taken away by Mu Qianchu along with her child, as Mu Qianchu’s men infiltrate the whole place. Meanwhile, Gong Ou, who was proceeding with his plan to find Shi Xiaonian once the oath was over, finds the tower where Shi Xiaonian was confined only to see a scene of bloodbath. Horrified, he searches the whole tower for Shi Xiaonian, but the only thing he can find is the dead bodies of all the staff in tower. As he finds the delivery room, he sees the operation table full of blood. He loses all his senses at the sight. As he keeps searching, he finds the room where Shi Xiaonian lived for the past six months. He sees the carvings by the bedside, showing her hatred towards him. Defeated, agonizing over how he was always one step too late, he collapses down. Swearing to find Shi Xiaonian no matter what, he threatens his mother and father insanely. His father, who would have no qualms about violence since he was a child, beats him severely for leaving the engagement oath before the ceremony finished, angering the Lancaster family for being humiliated. After being beaten, he recovers in the hospital for months. Meanwhile, when Shi Xiaonian comes to her senses after giving birth, she finds out about her biological family, the Xi family. It turns out that her biological family didn’t even know of her existence all this time. He found the tower Shi Xiaonian was confined in and brought her to Italy, to her parent’s home after she gave birth. Unfortunately, he could only bring one of the twins, as the other one was already taken by the butler of the Gong family. Hearing her son was still with the Gong family, Shi Xiaonian collapses. They appease her by promising her that they will definitely bring her son back. Shi Xiaonian names her daughter Xiao Kui and recuperates from her weak state of body for a few months before going to China. She spent this time with her newly found family and Mu Qianchu. It is after three months she was saved from the tower that she returns to China. There, she once again meets Gong Ou. With all the resentment she feels towards him, she tells him how she didn’t want to see him ever again. Gong Ou feels very repentant towards her and tells her how he wants to get her back. However, Shi Xiaonian refuses no matter what, expressing her endless hatred for him without any constraint. After that, Gong Ou keeps chasing after her for some time, as she rejects him over and over again. Then, one day, Gong Ou finally explains the truth to her. Nine months ago, when they broke up, it was because Gong Ou found out about her biological family. Her twin brother, Xi Yu, was a transgender boy who liked to dress as a girl in his teens. More than ten years ago, Xi Yu was in a relationship with Gong Ou’s brother, Gong Yu. In his hands is a photo of her twin brother, dressed in girl’s clothes and looking extremely identical to Shi Xiaonian, and Gong Yu, sitting in a café drinking a beverage with couple’s drinking straws, smiling happily at each other. The night when Gong Yu died in a car crash, it was because he was trying to meet two people at the same time and rushed, resulting in an accident. One was his brother, Gong Ou, whom he promised to watch the meteor shower together, and the other one was Xi Yu. Knowing that Xi Yu was the reason his brother died, and seeing how Xi Yu looked identical to Shi Xiaonian in the photo, he had a very hard conflict in his heart. It was Mona who gave him the photo, and she threatened and brainwashed him at the same time. If this truth was to surface and his father was to find out about it, his father would wipe out all the members of the Xi family, including Shi Xiaonian who was unaware of the truth at the time. After that, several attacks happen to Shi Xiaonian. She thinks Mona exposed the truth about Xi Yu to Gong family, so they were attacking her now. As she lives anxiously, afraid that her family would be hurt, the day of the engagement gets closer. One day before the engagement, Gong Ou’s butler, Feng De, comes to her to tell her he feels anxious because Gong Ou is behaving strangely, and he fears that he is having suicidal thoughts, so he asks her to talk to Gong Ou. Shocked at his words, Shi Xiaonian agrees to talk to Gong Ou and drives away the bodyguards of the Xi family but is instead kidnapped by Feng De and his bodyguards. She wakes up to find herself at the place where the engagement ceremony is to be held. She sees Gong Ou and he tells her of his plan, he wants to change the bride at the engagement ceremony and he wants to marry Shi Xiaonian. He promises to protect her and Xi family along with their children and getting their son back if she marries him. Shi Xiaonian is shocked at his plan. She wants to refuse but he threatens her of killing himself along with Mona and his father to protect her if she refuses. Shi Xiaonian agrees with no other choice. She decides that since Gong Ou chose to protect her with either his chest or with his dead body, she should simply love him as she wishes. The engagement ceremony takes place in a chaos as the bride is changed to Shi Xiaonian instead of Mona and Gong Ou announces to everyone that he is cutting off all ties with the Gong family. After all the fuss the ceremony still progresses smoothly after all the guests who were on Lancaster family’s side leave and only people who support them remain at the place. Even after they get engaged, Gong Ou thinks Shi Xiaonian doesn’t love him anymore and believes that she loves Mu Qianchu, and he is bitter at the thought. Shi Xiaonian eventually proves her love to him. As they also get Xiao Kui from Shi Xiaonian’s parents, their war against the Gong family to get their son, Holy, back starts. Shi Xiaonian learns that the one who let the Gong family know about Xi Yu and caused them to attack Shi Xiaonian was not Mona but it was actually Gong Ou. Hearing this Shi Xiaonian is flabbergasted, she asks Gong Ou why he did it and he says he doesn’t care about anything else besides her, so he would rather bet his everything than to wait for the downfall. Shi Xiaonian notices that Gong Ou’s paranoia has gotten worse. He is even more irritable than before and even the small principles he had before are gone, all he cares about is Shi Xiaonian. She is very afraid that Gong Ou would get even worse, causing him to break down. So, she meets Luo Qi and makes a deal with the Gong family. She will give Holy to them and be their spy on Gong Ou of his movements in exchange for them not irritating or agitating Gong Ou anymore. She will act happy around Gong Ou to make his mind at peace, advise him to restore his relationship with his family and help him so that his illness won’t get worse, she also won’t seek for Holy anymore, giving him to the Gong family if that is what they wish for, and the Gong family won’t bother them, not angering Gong Ou anymore. She makes this deal discreetly from Gong Ou. So, several months pass. Gong Ou’s paranoia still gets worse and worse and Shi Xiaonian tries to tolerate everything Gong Ou does to not agitate him. She abides by everything he does, not complaining nor objecting. Meanwhile, Mu Qianchu, who returned to Italy with the Xi family after fighting with Gong Ou, learns that his eye illness has recurred and he would be blind again in a year. He decides to bet his everything before he goes blind. He makes a deal to cooperate with Mona to take Gong Ou down. As Gong Ou gets even more jealous than ever, he unintentionally hurts Shi Xiaonian whenever he loses control of his emotions. Shi Xiaonian doesn’t complain and doesn’t let him know of how he hurts her. Gong Ou notices this and feels regretful but still can’t control his emotions. On Gong Ou’s birthday party, he even stabs the hand of a boy with a knife just because the boy held the hand of Shi Xiaonian, scaring everyone who witnessed the scene. After this incident, they find out that Shi Xiaonian’s father got in serious trouble and got arrested in Italy and they go to Italy. After several ordeals, Gong Ou tries to help Shi Xiaonian’s father get out of the trouble and even cooperates with Mu Qianchu, while suspecting him. However, before they can save Shi Xiaonian’s father, they hear news from China that the N.E. had a serious problem and they urgently need Gong Ou to come back. They return to China and Gong Ou works madly to solve the problem as soon as possible so that they can go back to Italy to save Shi Xiaonian’s father. Gong Ou’s illness gets worse and worse as he mistreats his employees irrationally and throws tantrums. Shi Xiaonian tries to calm him down but it just gets worse. After a few days, the employees cannot stand the mistreatment anymore and they all resign, blaming Gong Ou for everything. Gong Ou also finds out about the news in the media that had been going around for a few days which Shi Xiaonian hid from him to prevent him from getting even more agitated. The news reveal several scandals about Gong Ou, including how he has paranoid personality disorder and how he went mad on his birthday party, how he mistreated his employees. They also reveal that Gong Yu is gay and is in a relationship with Xi Yu, and how the brothers both fell for the same face. They all criticize him and Shi Xiaonian, and being pushed to edge he starts to have hallucinations. Realizing how serious his illness is, he disappears after telling Shi Xiaonian that he is very tired. Shi Xiaonian tries to stop him but fails, and just as she tries to find him she hears news from Italy that her father was actually not arrested but imprisoned and he was shot dead in a clash. Disbelieving the shocking news, she tries to gain his composure and remembers that her mother is in danger in Italy now that her father was gone. She learns that Gong Ou suspected Mu Qianchu before he disappeared, and she thinks Mu Qianchu killed her father so that he could take over the Xi family. The truth was that it was Mu Qianchu and Mona who triggered Gong Ou’s mental breakdown by releasing the scandals and creating trouble for N.E., however she was then unaware of the fact. As she goes back to Italy in a hurry, she faces several ordeals. Her mother, unable to bear the death of her husband, commits suicide, and Shi Xiaonian is distraught as she believes Mu Qianchu killed Gong Ou. She learns Xiao Kui was also taken away by the Gong family in the commotion. Losing everyone she cares for, even being betrayed by the person she trusted the most, she breaks down and refuses to eat nor drink, silently waiting for her death. As Mu Qianchu took over the Xi family, she is unable to escape from his clutches as he imprisons her. Before they can take action, the Gong family attacks the territory of Xi family in Italy. She is then found by Feng De who agonizes as he sees her miserable state. As all the staff fall one by one, Mu Qianchu who hid away from the men of Gong family tries to run away with her to another hidden quarter but she refuses to follow him, the traitor. During the clash, Mu Qianchu tells Shi Xiaonian that he didn’t kill Gong Ou and he didn’t know where exactly he was. He didn’t kill her father either, even though he conspired against him by getting him imprisoned, he wasn’t the one who killed him. She stabs Mu Qianchu with a dagger in a non-vital spot before letting him escape on his own, saying there was nothing between them anymore. Shi Xiaonian, who regained her last trace of hope back as she learned Gong Ou might still be alive, decides to keep living. She meets Luo Qi and the men of Gong Family as they attempt to kill her. However, Luo Qi can’t bear to kill her when she hears the cries of Xiao Kui. They let her live and Shi Xiaonian devotes her life to finding Gong Ou. The whole world knows of her search, as some take pity on her for looking for a fiancée who might already be dead, and some try to help her by bringing her some clues that might help. Shi Xiaonian refuses to lose her hope with the help of Feng De, who she had been living with since Gong Ou disappeared. Her twins are raised in Gong family in Britain and she is allowed to see them 30 days a year, and she witnesses them growing up without her by their side. Like that, four years pass. She opens an art store beside the building of N.E. where she watches, waiting for Gong Ou to come back. Meanwhile, a mysterious man named Mr. Y. who hides his face with a mask and never speaks comes to her shop as a regular customer every once in a while during these four years. As she goes to visit the twins again in Britain, she tells Luo Qi that she intends on taking the twins with her to China for the New Year’s. Luo Qi hesitantly agrees. She takes the twins who are already five years old with her and returns to China. Her son, Holy, is a very diligent and quiet child who studies and practices the customs taught by the Gong family all the time while her daughter, Xiao Kui is a very cheerful and funny child who dislikes studying and likes to play all the time. The twins get on very well with each other. Xiao Kui loves her mother very much though she rarely gets to see her while Holy is a bit distant and always very polite to her. A few days later, Gong Ou suddenly returns out of nowhere and Shi Xiaonian is both rejoiced and surprised. Gong Ou tells her that he had been treating his illness with Mona during these four years and that he is completely healed now. When Shi Xiaonian asks him why he never contacted her all this time he doesn’t give a satisfactory answer. Shi Xiaonian notices that Gong Ou really changed very much as his paranoid behaviors from the past are completely gone. He is now very calm and collected, a complete gentleman with proper manners, he is much more patient and rational. He isn’t obsessed about her all the time anymore and he is now a complete workaholic. He is very cold and indifferent towards her. He neglects her and ignores her desire to spend more time with him. Shi Xiaonian tries to accept the current Gong Ou, and she thinks that it is good that he returned and healed of his illness no matter what. However, she feels that he doesn’t love her anymore, and is only back to her side because the whole world takes pity on Shi Xiaonian for wasting her youth waiting for four years for her lost fiancée. While he denies this and tells her that he loves her, she still finds it hard to believe that they can be together like before, and feels a deep sense of estrangement between them. When he neglects the twins and her while being busy with work, she expresses her worries to him, however he accuses her of throwing a tantrum like child for nothing and he says the old Gong Ou is already gone, the old Gong Ou who was obsessed with her to the point of madness is no more and she has to get used to it, since this is how it is supposed to be. When he hears Shi Xiaonian saying how she missed the old Gong Ou very much and how sad she was that she would never get him back, he feels very sad and frustrated. He feels jealous of himself, his old self. Still, Shi Xiaonian thinks that she can get used to it. However, when Shi Xiaonian witnesses him going to the same hotel room with Mona, who was already engaged to another man, and spend the whole night there while lying to her on the phone about his whereabouts, she concludes that she cannot take it anymore and holds a press conference to announce to everyone that she is breaking up with Gong Ou and she will fight for the custody of the twins with the Gong family. Actually, when Gong Ou went to the same hotel room with Mona, it wasn’t because he was cheating on Shi Xiaonian. Mona had come to his side the day before and asked him to spend a night with her just once before she was married, as she was still very regretful by the fact that she was abandoned on her engagement day with Gong Ou. Gong Ou agrees to her request and goes to the same hotel room as Shi Xiaonian follows them without his knowledge, however he then drugs Mona’s wine with aphrodisiac and brings two rent boys to deal with her instead and leaves the room to spend the night in another room. Shi Xiaonian, who waits in her car outside the hotel the whole night is unaware of the truth as she thinks he spent the night with Mona. The next day, when Mona asks him why he did this to her even though she spent four years treating him diligently, he says he knew who pushed him to the edge four years ago by releasing the scandals and triggering his illness to take a turn for worse, it was Mu Qianchu who designated the scheme and it was Mona who taught Mu Qianchu how to trigger his illness. So, this was his revenge for that time, for making him hurt Shi Xiaonian. After Gong Ou leaves the hotel, he finds out about the press conference Shi Xiaonian held and refuses to break up with Shi Xiaonian. He proves his innocence to her but she still refuses to marry him because she loves the old Gong Ou. Gong Ou tells her she can never win the fight for custody, she has no choice but to marry him if she wants to be with the twins. Even Holy tells her she can’t win. Still, she chooses to fight no matter what. As she is having trouble at finding lawyers, the mysterious Mr. Y. comes and offers to help her. So their fight for custody begins. They argue several times as Gong Ou tells her what she wants is selfish, she just yearns for the endless affection and obsession he had for her in the past, even though she disliked his excessive emotions. If she keeps being stubborn and selfish like this, he will eventually get tired of her and she will lose both the twins and him. He gives her half a month to think over and choose to marry him. Meanwhile, Shi Xiaonian feels there is something strange about his behavior and she thinks it is not normal to lose even the good emotions because of a treatment. She asks Mona how she treated Gong Ou during the past four years. Mona says she put him in a cage because he was too ill. Shocked, Shi Xiaonian finds the medical report of his treatment of the past four years and is frightened to see the contents. The report describes how Gong Ou was kept in a cage for a long time and how he shouted out her name countless times every day, being forced to control his emotions while being trapped. She is appalled and very distraught at the truth. She regrets blaming Gong Ou and telling him over and over again how she missed the old Gong Ou, disregarding how much Gong Ou suffered to be what he is now, how much he sacrificed to be with her. She regrets wanting to break up with Gong Ou just because of his loss of affection. She apologizes to him for her insensitivity and treating the past and present him as two different people while they are actually the same person, and tells him she wants to make up for her mistakes, and she wants to marry him. Gong Ou, however, tells her she doesn’t need to apologize as the past him and the present him are indeed two different people and if the one she wants to marry is the past him, she shouldn’t because he won’t be as affectionate and obsessed with her as the past him. Shi Xiaonian decides to open his heart bit by bit in time. Indeed, while Gong Ou still acts very cold and mean, they get closer as Shi Xiaonian tries to open his heart. She feels that he still cares for her even though he looks so indifferent. One day, when Feng De drugs Gong Ou’s drink accidentally and causes him to be drunk, Shi Xiaonian hears his true heart for the first time in a long while. She learns that the reason he didn’t contact her for four years was because he was very ill at the time to the point of having hallucinations and he regretted hurting Shi Xiaonian unintentionally the day he disappeared very much, so he was afraid of hurting Shi Xiaonian again if he were to see her. He also confesses he loved her very much and thought of only her for four years, very afraid of losing her. When Shi Xiaonian learns all this, she is very moved and sad, also very happy that Gong Ou still cares about her. However, she is still very confused as to why he is acting so cold towards her even though he still loves her very much. She steals his medical report of treatment and shows it to a trusted psychiatrist to ask about his opinion. The psychiatrist tells her that there may be a possibility that Gong Ou was not actually cured at all, he was only made to practice self-restraint for four years to the point of torture. He was made to believe that normal people restrained their emotions, even the positive ones, and loving too much was not normal as normal people didn’t have so much affection. His role model for the “normal people” was a very distorted one and that was why he turned out like this. She felt very angry at Mona for torturing him like this under the pretext of treatment and making him suffer so much that he lost his original personality. She finally understands why he acted like that all this time. She decides to help Gong Ou regain his emotions once again. As she helps him whole heartedly, his condition gets better each day. He expresses his feeling a little more openly and isn’t as cold as before. She keeps telling him he doesn’t have to endure, and advises him to be more relaxed. As they also begin the preparations for the marriage, they go to Britain and announce their decision to get married to Luo Qi. They plan not to tell the media about their marriage yet and set the date for the wedding to a month later. Gong Ou returns to China for his work while Shi Xiaonian stays in Britain to get education for etiquette and being a noble woman worth the Gong family. I'm just infuriated with Chinese writing when it comes to their antagonists. Gong's parents in the end didn't lose much, they got their heir but Nina even with the reveal of her bloodline/from a rich family, she STILL had to be separated with one of the twins while they were growing up?

I watched this manhwa's drama first...later i found out that the drama was based on a manhwa n the manhwa was based on a novel...

At that time I was new to NU...so i found later that the manhwa was based on a novel...

It's better u watch the drama for this novel...it's a lot better...in the drama he didn't even rape her or something n just imprisoned her...the novel is totally messed up...

U can watch the drama for ur leisure time if u r bored...it's ok n good...just a 8 to 10 episode drama...watched the drama long back so i exactly don't remember the number of episodes...

Tbf, in my case I knew what I came to read. Manhua writings are (I apologize if this opinion heavily differs to other readers) just terrible. So far, the good manhuas that stayed with me are those that just focused with the romance and SOL, drama is welcome so long as its not overdone, or even outright comedy. If I wanted to read heavy revenge stories with one dimensional villains, I'd read their martial arts, historical, even mafia centric manhua. For here, we could push the mafia theme, it just annoys me chinese antagonists last a couple of arcs (like Dora or whatever her chinese name was), Mona got some retribution (from what I can remember) but in the end, feels like she could still have a normal life at least. The Gong parents? His brother who faked his death? I'm still pissed the former got what they wanted, an heir and Nina STILL didn't get the respect she deserves. The story eventually reveals she comes from a rich bg, nothing should be stopping them in being together now, the parents should be somewhat sorry for treating her terribly (I'm not expecting much in manhua), actually help their son and his wife reconcile (with Gong Ou's personality shift), berate their older son for the damage he caused his brother. Heck, I'd rather get the cliche reveal they aren't Gong Ou's parents and we have a better parent somwhere, they abandon their grandkids for not having their blood and give them back to the parents.

I know this is completely redundant and unhealthy to come back here every manhwa update but the recent chapter with Aubrey confronting his mom is both a hit and miss for me.

Other than what HE wants, he holds most cards at the table the moment he threatened his own life. The mother certainly cared enough to cry potentially losing another son but never considered Aubrey's feelings. Again, I'm too lazy to read the summary but from this chapter, it seems his mother was unaware of the brother's fake death. Personally, Aubrey could still continue to do self harm (we all know he has plot armor, force his mother to acknowledge their faults as a parent, AT LEAST half of those 2 sorry excuse of parents. I mean, her own son is finally eating properly due to the love of his life's cooking, motivated to do work even if its the excuse of benifitting Nina. Next, seeing as lineage is important, was it ever explained in the drama or the source material why Nina's bio family is still lacking enough not to give Nina the respect she deserves for being mistreated all this time?

And once again Gong Ou's mother is physically shown WHY she's making a terrible choice (and even given the question which is more important to her). We are finally meeting MCs parents, huh? It still baffles me we didn't get an apology from Gong Ou's parents for how they treated MC. She's no longer a commoner, they have heirs, and Mona's "treatment" wasn't even treatment. Not to mention, there oldest son faked his own death. For goodness sake, at least lower your pride and dignity, admit your mistakes.

This story is absolutely trash and toxic
Thou when gong ou said "you above, me below" to shi xiaonian when he became desperate was quite satisfying
And certainly the proposal was indeed out of this world which he did propose to her underwater
There was some kind of ruins underwater under a faraway island
The whole island became his proposal and wedding location
He used his new technology "the hologram" and It was indeed magical
I can't promise it'll be soon but I'll try to upload the whole scene when I can
