I read it before at NU, but the translator 'Rain of Snow' already deleted the novel, dunno copyright issue maybe.

 

Doubt it, they have other Korean novels up on their site.

 

They stated it was due to legal issues. Novels will stay up or get taken down depending on if the author notices and requests to remove it/takes legal action

 

There's going to be a webtoon adaptation of this novel that will be released on 2022.

Just fast forward to 4:28-4:39 so you guys will be able to watch the short trailer and see how the webtoon is going to turn out. In my opinion, the art looks promising. I hope that it will stay true to the novel since the tled chapters were getting good before it got dropped.

 

Spoiler: Summery till Stella decides to stay for 6 month

The MC, Stella, was the second princess of the empire. She had an older brother Joseph and an older sister Karen. The children of the emperor are supposed to have special abilities related to the sun(Joseph), moon(Karen) and stars(Stella). The extent of their abilities were note properly explained, the MC can for example remove the stars from the sky or fill the sky with stars, however they dont have any real power as in power to do sth useful. What the sister and brother could do was not properly explained. Their abilities are purely used as proof that the heavens support them, and it simply keeps the people in the empire believing in them.

Now as a kid Stella's power did not harness. The emperor was a paranoid mofo, although not a complete idiot. He could feel the imperial family's power was weakening, and this scared him so much that he killed anyone he suspected of treason. Now Stella not able to display her power was bad news for him, cuz it will weaken the faith of the ppl (again, the power is there simply for faith. They dont really add any real value). Thus he spread a rumor that they are hiding the precious youngest princess away because she was too sacred to be revealed to the world. But in reality he disguised her as the maid of Karen.

Stella not having power caused many rifts between the emperor and the empress. Both of them blamed each other. This also had an effect on Stella and also probably Karen.

The MC Clyde is the illegitimate son of a Duke. He was basically treated like a slave. However he was really good with sword, thus he used to teach the crown prince Joseph. Karen thought Clyde was a disgusting slave (ironic, you'll see later). However Stella kinda liked him, and he also liked stella. Stella introduced herself as a double of "the real Stella" and that she was just a maid of Karen, however Clyde understood from her sad tone that she was in fact the real princess Stella.

So as the emperor feared, a rebellion took place. The emperror and empress took Joseph and Karen, and tried to run away using a secret passage. Stella called for help but i guess she was too far or sth and they didnt want to waste time risking their own lives so they abandoned her. Now I would like to note that they didnt abandon her on purpose, they would have taken her if there was no risk, however to them she was not worth the risk. Although immediately they started blaming each other "what kind of mother abandons her daughter", "no you abandoned her, what kind of father does that" and so on. In that moment I guess they developed some kind of PTSD, emperor claimed "Stella left herself" and they actually started to believe that lie.

The rebels thought Stella was a maid and spared her. She then lived as a commoner, found a family that took her in. Her new family loved her, she also loved them. She started to realize her own worth.

Clyde, the ML used the rebellion to his advantage, killed his family and took the mantle of the duke. He then restored the old imperial family back into power. In exchange he requested the hand of their youngest daughter Stella. While emperor and and empress were grateful to him, they also thought he was a monster. They did accept his request and promised if they found Stella they will let him marry her, but in private they were like "I will never let my daughter marry that monster" as if they had any right. They started looking for Stella and wanted to find her before the Duke does. I would also like to clarify that it becomes evident that they would look for Stella even if the duke didnt ask. They didn't think Stella was dead because in their head "Stella left". Karen thought Stella was dead. Joseph was hopeful that she was alive. However, since the Imperial family hid her away in the past, they did not have a portrait of her. So basically they were looking using features. Also sth to note, after Stella left there were no stars above the imperial palace. This, combined with the fact that she was a lost princess who took the stars with her made Stella like a lost deity in the eyes of ppl.

Stella was living under the name "Ethel" with her new family. She worked with them in their family restaurant. A knight walked into that restaurant and thought that Ethel matched some of those features. It was the Duke's knight. The duke later went to that restaurant. Both Stella and the Duke didnt really recognize each other, but they both suspected who the other person might be. And even if "Ethel" wasnt Stella, the duke took a liking to her.

The Emperor and Empress could not sleep well cuz they saw dreams of them abandoning Stella. They lied to themselves, but their dreams revealed the truth thus they couldnt sleep. Every day they would cry about their "poor dear daughter". Karen, who used to look down on the slave ML, actually became obsessed over the Duke ML (though probably did not know they are the same, i am not sure). She didnt like the fact that her parents were obsessed with finding Stella, and the ML loved stella and not her. She heard that the ML discovered someone(Ethel) who looked like Stella. So she devised a plan to replace stella with Ethel, make Ethel do stuff to tarnish the reputation of Stella, and in her mind the Duke will start loving her and her parents will forget about Stella.

Karen went to a guy called Jason, who was basically the wealthiest and most influential man on the planet. With his help she found out who the girl Duke found was. She went to Ethel (not knowing it was the real Stella) and told her she wants her to replace Stella. She acted all nice and kind (as she always does in front of people). Ethel(stella) begged her that she wants to live peacefully with her family. Karen then got rid of her good girl persona and threatened Ethel by saying she will destroy the inn and take away her family's only source of income. Ethel angrily agreed, but didnt go down without a fight, she insulted karen a lot and used the fact that Karen puts off a kind persona in front of people to her advantage to get away scratch free. The soldiers were watching so karen could not do much.

So karen takes Ethel to the imperial palace feeding her info on how to act. Now Ethel was not the first person to claim that she was their long lost daughter, thus obviously she had to prove herself. So they questioned her, Ethel told some common stuff that Stella would know. The emperor wasnt stupid, so he was like "Karen told you that didnt she?". Stella then started telling stuff karen wouldnt know, this surprised karen. Then she insulted karen and told what she tried to do. Karen realized she fucked up and Ethel was real Stella. The Emperor and Empress were extremely happy, they hugged her like how much they love her. They told "dont leave me again" and Stella wasnt having any of that shit. She reminded them that she did not leave, that he was abandoned by them, and made it clear that she hated them.

Karen went to Stella's room to talk shit about her, stella told that if karen messes with her she will reveal the world what Karen planned and use the contract that Ethel and Karen signed on their agreement as evidence. Karen told that Stella could not bring back the stars anyway, so no one would believe her.

Rumors started spreading that princess Stella was back. Jason(the guy Karen took help from to find Ethel) bet a LOT, and I mean a LOT of money that the stars would not rise (cuz he knew that Ethel was planted by karen). Stella, was given a blank check by the Emperor despite the fact that the imperial family had basically no money (cuz they were dethroned and rethroned). Stella heard maids talking about the bet. So she went into the casino, and saw that the overwhelming majority voted against stella raising the star. So she bet 10 billion gold (using the blank check) that the star would rise. The time comes, she reveals that she started getting her power after she left the imperial family, she brings the stars back. Winning the bet, she actually win's Jason's diamond mine (which is very important to Jason's family). So they bargained a lot and managed a deal. Stella cracked down on casino corruption and basically refunded the money unfairly lost by poor nobles. With this she gained the favors of many nobles and also Jason (cuz she took like 25% of the mine or sth). She also starts a foundation in her name. She also made Jason send mercenaries to protect her foster family.

Emperor asks Karen where she found Stella. Karen lied and said she picked her up from street. Emperor didnt believe her. Emperor tried to spy Stella to find if she had a family. Stella knew she could not contact her foster family, but he missed them so wrote a letter she knew she could not send. She kept the letter in her drawer.

The duke comes to visit Stella. At this point he was confused, cuz he liked Stella but he also liked Ethel, he suspected that Stella might be Ethel but didnt know what he would do if they were different. So stella comes and the duke is happy so see that Stella is Ethel, he hugs her. He then proposes her saying that the Emperor and Empress already accepted his proposal, if Stella accepts it he would like to marry her. Stella accepts cuz she does not want to live with the imperial family.

Empress hears that the duke came to take stella. She also finally realizes that she abandoned stella, stella didnt leave, and the guilt crushed her. She quickly ran to the duke and asked him to not take stella away. Stella was like "bitch you threw me away", the mother was like "ik ik, i am sorry, let me make it up to you". Stella was ruthless and made it clear that there is no redemption.

The emperor found the letter, reading that he realized how much stella hated them, and how much she loved her foster family. He was furious. She screamed and hearing that stella rushed to her room and saw the emperor holding the letter. Emperor ordered the duke to make stella sit on the chair so that he could have a conversation with her. The duke took stella and basically started walking out of the imperial palace. The empress stopped the duke and begged stella for 1 yr of time so that they could make it up to her. Seeing the empress Stella thought that she might actually forgive them if she stayed, thus she refused. The emperor came and said sth that i dont exactly remember. Basically Emperor was bigger bitch than Empress, and this made Stella realize that she wont love them even if she stayed. So they bargained the time and agreed on 6 months, and if they could not make it up to her(and Stella was 100% sure she wont forgive them), she would leave and they would not look for her.

No sure if I'll read, but I really want to know how Karen will end up cause is an interesting setup - she needs to pay somehow so is cathartic but at the same time she still the child favored by the moon.

i just wanna find out if we spend the rest of the chapters constantly going back and forth between her saying “they might finally change!” to “even so, i will never forgive them!”.
i hate itttt. i’m just gonna wait till we get more spoilers. i refuse to read this if she forgives them. it’s reminding me of another one where the family don’t even get any consequences
