What do you think? In the novels I read, there are frequently such lines as "it's useless to worry about it," that the main character says to justify their uncaring or calm attitude. I wonder if worry is a useless emotion? Where does it come from? Why do people have such an emotion? For example from a purely evolutionary perspective, is worry a cause of... I dunno... A... I have no idea tbh... And people often say it's burdensome, And in some cases I truly agree that it can be burdensome, So what do you all think? To be honest, to me it seems that worry is kind of a sixth sense that is always wrong
Worry is a simplified version of having too much concern. While having too much does seem to make mistakes, it does lead to solving problems not to be taken lightly and would lead to a proper answer than a quick solution. Basically, its like comparing it to a quick question and a complicated question that has no time limit. Quick quizes tends to lead worry to make wrong choices due to having less time to think and more to worry but on the latter side, it leads to a more solid answer than a stitch up one. Its like anger leads to a hasty action but if compared to a life and death situation, it would actually save lives if done correctly. Thats it for my ted talk and now my single braincell needs to recharge before answering anymore questions.
No. Worry is a useful emotion, but could be a burden at the same time. Worry can get you moving or paralyze you. It simply varies by how you deal with worries or how you deal with worries stemming from different circumstances.
No, worry is essential as it creates jobs, thus keeping the section of people it employs from the worry of joblessness.
You have to understand that humans didn't evolve to live in huge graveyards made of concrete and steel and asphalt, and 99.99% of their existence they spent living in caves, hunting and gathering food. The environment we live in and the environment we evolved to live in are so drastically different that it is inevitable to have some of our faculties that would otherwise be useful and valuable not showing their worth and hindering us instead.
It depends... as someone who worries about everything and anything, I study the art of worrying in my spare time. I do agree with the line "worrying is useless" cause in most cases, the thing you're worrying about is out of your control. If you can actually do something about the thing you're worrying about, then worrying is equally useless cause you would be wasting your time worrying instead of just doing something about it right? But well, I do think that worry is in a way, a form of fear. So... I don't think it's that easy control. Cause like most of our fears it usually stems from our sense of self-preservation. Or something like that.
Worry sometimes stop us in place, especially when we figured we can't do anything about it. But worry also sprung us to action. We might be reckless when we move because we're worried, but at least we do something rather than staying silent. (It might bring negative effect though)
it is important it steam from fear you know~ do you think fear is useless? it also sympathy or empathy which purrfectly normal cuz human is social creature with some lone wolf wannabe here and there~ excessive emotion is debatable not good~ context is important~ quite simple~
I don't see myself as someone who's strong enough to face every challenges and wake up everyday with a smile in my face. I do worry a lot, I get pessimistic, I hate everything sometimes. Maybe that's why I prefer to read, read and read to keep my mind busy. Was I still on topic ←_←→_→_(з」∠)_
Why do we have 2 choices? Worry is useful and burdensome at the same time. No, I'm not here just to increase my message count.
