rough summary of first 20 or so chapters - a lot of it concentrates on rumors/perception vs reality and sorry if parts of this aren't true.. .my memory is kinda foggy.

Spoiler: Ch 1-21

Seishia's family is trash - her brother is really the promiscuous one, but it's all blamed on her and her reputation in society suffers because her family spreads the rumors that she's the dirty one. She's also the black sheep in her family since she has healing powers (which they don't know about so they think she's non magical), but her family is known for having black magic.

Story starts off with her running away from home and starting her own treatment clinic in a nearby village. She introduces herself as Shar and the villagers are suspicious but they're willing to take the help she offers. At one point she finds Dian (Archduke von Kartia) at her doorstep collapsed and poisoned so she brings him in and uses her powers to heal him. He wakes up wondering why he's still alive since the poison was incurable except for a certain plant which he was trying to get but didn't make it in time.

They have friendly chats and he helped her at the treatment center. They don't know each other's backgrounds but both of them suspect they're both nobles. Dian falls for her very quickly and Shar enjoys being around him. At one point they also share a kiss All that changes when the rumors spread around that her family is looking for her and that she's an evil woman. Once the villagers start gossiping, Shar decides it's time to move to another village. Before she can leave though, her family finds her, kidnaps her, and sets fire to the clinic.

Her family stuffs her into a dress after locking her up for several days and tell her to go to a party and meet some old count who she'll have to marry. Dian after finding out she was taken away, was able to intercept her carriage on the way to the party and officially introduces himself as Archduke von Kartia. He offers to help her, but Shar turns him down knowing that the negative rumors around her would drag him down. He's also known for being creme of the crop kindest man around and she doesn't want to ruin that. He insists just like her rumors aren't true, his aren't either and he's not that kind.

Shar heads out to the party and everyone's gossiping around her before Dian shows up. He keeps saying that he knows the rumors aren't true and he wants to help her, but again she rejects him and heads home. Her mother berates her for coming back early, and again Dian follows her home and this time she finally agrees to have him be involved. He proposes and offers to take her back to Kartia and they announce it to the family who are all shocked.

He sets up this flower carriage which is traditional for newlyweds and takes her away from her family. Dian also warns her that he has a lot of enemies in Kartia and it's a poisonous garden full of snakes. There's a chunk of background information on the ride home, talking about how there's 3? different families that take turns ruling over Kartia and Rodika (his fam) is the current head. His family members were the ones who tried to poison him before he bumped into Shar and the area is surrounded by poisonous plants (hence the name "garden"). It's so bad that he wraps a cloth mask around her nose and mouth to limit her exposure to the poisonous air/pollen.

The family come out to greet him and they're plotting on how to kill him/take over Kartia. They also gossip about how his bride is an outsider and how she should be taken out before he has an heir. Once Shar & Dian get out of the carriage, he directs her away from the family and doesn't greet them which pisses them off.

As he's showing her around the mansion all he can think about is kissing her but he holds off to give her time to adjust. He tells her plainly that she's safest here and it also means he'll never let her go. Dian says the least poisonous snake out of the bunch there and he gives her time to relax, build up her confidence, and also get out of the room before he can't control himself lol.

Another Cartoonish Trash Family with a indifferent scum father, evil jealous stepmother + disgusting spoilt rotten step-halfbrother and a traumatized saintlike graceful Healer FL is surrounded by toxic ungrateful misogynistic assholes (The Villagers).....
What's missing is another white lotus/green tea bitch sister, cousin or best friend...
A complete nightmarish squad to exploit and torture the poor super pretty FL with hidden special talent.
These family members are so obsessed/mad with Seisia.
I just don't understand the logic of these foul vile characters... Can they just let her go for good?
Maybe because they are just useful cheap ugly caricartures tools to depict the eponymous FL as very pitiful and beautiful just like in the old folktales/Cinderella Stories Rhodopis, Yeh Shen, Kongjwi and Patjwi, La Gatta Cenerentola, Aschenputtel etc...
Their abuse/mistreatment gives the Golden Prince ML a perfect excuse to save her as a Knight In Shining Armor and legitimize himself as Seisia's Ideal Soulmate/One True Love.
And I lost count of how many times I have already seen this FanRomDra Trope 'FL finds Mortally Wounded ML, Saves/Nurses Him and He then reveal himself as a rich powerful Noble/Royal/Elite Tycoon who fell in love with her' in any (Asian, English, European) Romance Drama Novels, Shows or Movies.

It's kinda weird how the ml fell for the fl cuz of how similar she is to his mother. Kind,selfless and talks the same way too.. awkward

 

I think they were going for the whole girls marry men like there fathers thing just opposite. It's not entirely accurate we usually find a partner that makes us feel like our fathers did, safe and comfortable. I think they were trying to go for that but loving and light.

 

I've read too many strong and scheming kind of FL the pathetic Cinderella type and evil for no reason family annoys me
