Do you believe that you have a purpose? Like being given a second chance to live again after a near-death experience. Do you sometimes question yourself why am I still alive or why do I strive to live? For what? For whom? Or you just live your life blindly, passively, with no care in the world where life takes you? *tired*
Purpose, as in being part of some grand divine plan? No. Goals to sustain, prolong and, if possible, better the conditions of this existence that this 'consciousness' seems to suggest I have? Yes. I have frankly never been placed in any situation that would lead me to question the validity or meaning of my existence.
The question you ask. Has been ask for eons with many truths and answers. Personally, I rather not wait for destiny and blaze my own path of purpose. I don’t want anyone or anything telling me my purpose or my reason for existing. I will decide on my own. While reflecting is good. Especially, for a morally sound person because a person who don’t give a f@ck is worth less than the s#it I step on. Always question, but never succumb to it. You say blindly, but who knows their future. Hindsight is wonderful, but we don’t usually are so lucky. With the foundation of our honor and the guidance of our past. We stagger forward never giving up. As we seek our purpose and aim for our own little bit of happiness. We Move As We Do In Life. FORWARD!
Why not? I mean the purpose to be alive is to live. Well, I dont believe in coincidence, destiny and karma but they always there to believe that there's reason to live.
Yourself and your species and to be more specific your herd/tribe Or atleast contribute towards it's survival and wellbeing Now with our numbers the individual contribution becomes more and more insignificant I also doubt that there is some kind of divine plan or if there is it has anything to do with us, if it does we wouldn't want that etc
Struggling with ennui, huh? Existential crisis? No worries, mate. Whether we have a purpose or not doesn't matter so much, since we have no way of confirming one way or the other if we really do and knowing won't really change anything anyways. Say there is a grand purpose to your specific existence. And that's to be in a blue shirt on a street corner in your hometown at exactly 6pm on a specific Tuesday in March. That's it. The entirety of the purpose of your existence. But being there inspires a young girl to wear the sexy blue dress to prom where she gets pregnant with the grandfather of the woman who will be the first successful colonist on Mars. And without you being on that corner, none of that would have happened. But who cares? Not you. It's just another Tuesday for you. But take some comfort that your unique existence is probably due to a million other people questioning if they have a grand purpose in the universe.
The only purpose we have are the purposes that us or society choose for ourselves, there's no deeper meaning in our existence.
If you want to find purpose then you should find the reason yourself. Because you are the one trying to find something meaningful in life. Such thing as purpose can only be found through the people around you. Existence is also a purpose. Living is also purpose as well as being happy. There are too many variables that it is only you, yourself, can find your own purpose. That is why, some people who strive to the top, have their own purpose. Mainly because of either themselves or for the others. Your existence won't be much to the world, but to the people who are close to you. The reason why you are still living right now, is basically to live with experience, accumulate it, enjoy it, sad about it, get angry it, and die along with it. No such thing as right or wrong in purpose, only those who think what the majority thinks it's wrong or not. Such as the law and it's society. That's why we shouldn't think about what people think of us, but we tend to think about them because it's purpose on not letting yourself stand out.
