I Know she manipulated Prince Edessak but why? couldn't they have achieved the smog incident just by assasinating the viscount?

Trissy was a valuable hostage between the Royal family and the Demoness sect

The pirate admiral from the demoness sect helped capture and ship slaves to the royal family so they could use them to repair the mausoleums for the Black emperor ritual. The black fog incident helped a demoness completely digest her potion. It was done in secret so before a certain point the gods would no longer interfere and allow him to become a God

Is the reason why there is no petrol in the world of LoTM is because it has already been exhausted in Earth? Is it ever mentioned again?
