I hate studying maths. Maths and me don't get along. If there is maths, there is no me. Like what the fudge in a chocolate icecream ! I don't wanna find out at what time a train would pass a man running alongside it. Which sane person would even run along a train? Or buy like 50 dozen bananas. Here's an equation to let you see the true face of maths. After continuous years of hardwork and research I will now present the ultimate truth. Heh! I always knew maths was a part of some super secret conspiracy of the aliens. Maths = stress. Stress = poor marks. Poor marks = sad. Stress + poor marks + sad = depressed. Depressed = mental torture Therefore, maths= mental torture I always knew there was something dark behind maths. The algebra and trigonometry always gave me a uneasy feeling. Now we all know the TRUE conspiracy of the evil brooding maths. Do you feel enlightened now?
Oh wait till you become an adult. and find out 95% of that shit ends up pointless unless you go into certain job fields.
That's because it is wrong. Solve for Maths: Stress + Poor marks + Sad = Depressed | Depressed = Mental torture <=> Stress + Poor marks + Sad = Mental torture | Poor marks = Sad <=> Stress + 2 x Poor marks = Mental torture | Stress = Poor marks <=> 3 x Stress = Mental torture | Maths = Stress <=> 3 x Maths = Mental torture | :3 <=> Maths = (Mental torture) / 3 Therefore if you feel mentally tortured, maths is either only responsible for a third of it, or you spend 3x as much time with maths as you should.
Uhh...whatever you just wrote kinda went above my head. But you must be right... I am so dumb at this.... At this point I am just embarrassing myself.... Bye I am gonna go hide under a rock for the rest of my life It's due to my years of hardwork and research on how to avoid maths
Wait until you get to calc~ then all they’re going to do is show you an example of the math and then go ”yes?” ah calc now I don’t bother spending a full hour trying on my homework.
No seriously today at class I was listening very carefully, then I looked out of the window. It wasn't more than 10 seconds and when I looked back it's like what in the heck is this? When did the teacher wrote all this? What happened? Where are we? Who am I?
It is probablybthe fault of your education system, tbh. I've read some old Soviet textbooks and they were mighty fine.
Hmm I discovered when I was in college that loving math also depends on the person teaching it to be honest and also on what type of reference books you have. you can't learn to love it if the one teaching you does not know how to teach you to love it
This is my dread for if I ever regress and returned to a school age. I've forgotten how do to most types of math because I haven't used anything besides basic arithmetic in the past three decades. I tried to do an algebra problem recently and I couldn't remember how to manipulate the formula!
I hated my previous class maths teacher. Once during Parents Teavher Meeting, he started complaining about my marks in maths and I broke down in a sobbing mess. I told him that I hate maths. Ever since then it was a hell of a year for me. He would always point out to me to ask a question. If I can't answer, he would say it I can't even solve such an easy question. Once during a mock test, I scored really good marks. When he discussed the paper, he asked me to answer the solution of every question. As if he couldn't believe that I scored that well and believed as if I cheated. That's why I think I hate maths. I left maths and opted science.
I actually like some Linear Algebra, Arithmetic, and Discrete Mathematics. But I absolutely hate Trigonometry, Integrals and Differentials, and don't feel too keen on Stereometry. And don't get me started on Topology. Probability is so-so. Statistics is manageable, as long as you give up on your free time and life. There are people who like maths, born to do maths, understand it and see beauty in it. Only those people should be taught maths in depth. The rest of us should be left with the basics. Thanks.
How you'll enjoy the subject is more or less centered on the education system- your professor, the reference and learning materials, the facility, the curriculum, exam type, etc... I'd express my dislike on math if the prof is boring af, doesn't return assessment papers, doesn't mind student progress and such... I really used to like math... Then a certain professor decided to mix it with his Stat subject, I had no idea which topic is which... Nao I dislike both of em... Calculus was fine cos my prof does step-by-step teaching... Only for the next prof to just drop book titles of what we should read, not elaborating further... Then I went back to just dazing... Aii~
Well, I don't hate math per se, but I did hate how the teaching of it was structured, and how I was supposed to memorize(!!!) a million formulas. Even in all my jobs, I've barely used any of all I learned except some minor conversion formulas and simple calculations, that's it. I just keep thinking "What was the point of all that?!!"
