Of course it matters guys wtf you can never enjoy true freedom if at any time, on a whim of your owner or whatever you are obligated to obey any command he gives. I would always have that at the back of my mind

Sadly sometimes you are freer as a slave than as a free person , no taxes , no need to care about food , clothing , roof ...

I think it would bother me, but I think I'd be able to accept those conditions and be happy with what I can get. If my owner treated me well and I was in a situation where I was already enslaved once, I think I'd just be glad that I got a good owner instead of a bad one.

Like, I'm not someone who would be capable of fighting for my freedom or try escaping or anything like it, so... I'd take what I could get. Better be a slave in a good position than a slave on a bad position.

There's too much uncertainty when you can't control your own life. What happens if your owner dies and you get inherited by someone who actually wants to use their assets? What if you want to move to another country and you find out you can't do it without your owner's permission. So you have to get their permission for everything you want to do, and depend on their time and mood. If you actually want to get married and have children - the spouse can't be from a different social class and has to be approved by your owner. Your children are automatically slaves too. If your owner really doesn't care, they can let you be free, burn the slave contract or redeem you. Not doing that means they don't see ou as human and not caring about you is just temporary until they have a use for you.

It'd bother me because I would know in my heart that someone has identified me as a lesser person then them and that it has been acknowledged by some system of government.

That’s not real freedom. It’s a cruel imitation. I see old Southern guys constantly say that “Slavery wasn’t bad, they were treated like family,” but when asked if they would want to be a slave, they vehemently disagree. Why? Because their lives wouldn’t be theirs. It would be their owners to take

freedom is an illusion, we all are slaves to laws (that are often heavily biased), corporations, societal obligation and much more.
so yeah as long as the freedom is not too restricted being a slave is not so different than usual for most

I think it's the title of your being that matters.
Are you a person or an object?

In you, yourself, and how society sees you, are either at the same level as them or below them.

It doesn't matter how you are treated.
Sure, being treated kindly is good, but you are still just a slave.

If the person accepts that, then no argument.
    It is what it is.
