Say there is an item that boosts your character's physical attack by 300%, but it also inflicts blindness to your character for the rest of battle. Your screen will literally go black save for things like the health bar, inventory, etc. Would you use this item or not?? Would VR change anything??
    Please explain why~

This is something I have been thinking about for a while.

On another note, looking for something to change up your usual reading list?? Something deep, something that will tug at your heart strings, something that will make you rage, all at the same time?? Then click here~

Maybe only a fight where I’ve already lost several times? Wouldn’t have anything to lose trying it.

I would choose not to use this item. The reason is because, attacks that doesn't hit are useless attacks.

Depending on the game, i might? But in normal times, a 100% certain NO.
I mean memorization can only go so much.. and a black screen isnt interesting to watch in a 'game'

I would never use that item unless there is an attack or skill that always hit/never missed. If you ever play RPGMaker game you should know even if your character accuracy is 100% the attack can still miss and it is really frustrating especially if you're farming low-level enemies

Just make it foggy and hard to see, total blindless is unenjoyable. Except if the game have quite an audio that people can predict where they're from the voices alone (Maybe add some resonance where player can make out some outline from time to time). If it's traditional RPG then no. Never ever do that.

The good old boots of blinding speed from morrowind makes you super fast but makes you blind although the blind effect can be resisted

Depends if majority of my skills are aoe and or auto targets near enemies.
And if I got nothing to lose why not.

    I guess its kinda depends
if the mechanic of being blinded means my whole screen will turn black
then i 100% wont use it
    why
since if my whole screen will turns dark, ill be just swinging things blindly
    where's the fun in that?
and yeah, no matter how much it boosted me, whats the point of the attack will miss

    but
if the mechanic of said blindedness means that ill have several percent chance to miss my hit instead of whole screen being black
like, lets say on those oldies top down mmorpg, i might considers it, especially so if my chara mainly deals AOE damage
    why
300% can be considered as a massive boost, and this way, i can see where the enemies are, and just need my chara to land the hit instead of me swinging blindly
and i can atleast calculate how big my chance is to hit my target
And more target means easier my attack to land
    so yeah

    tho
depends on how much my base damage will be i guess?
    3x sounds great
but if my damage is 1, and enemy health is 1000
adding another 2 against that 1k at a price of missing your hit doesnt really make any sense

No because I mostly play supports and mages..I've no use for that +300% physical attack.:blobneutral:

I do play other roles besides those two sometimes but they rely on precision/aim and combos so how am I supposed to fight my enemies with my +300% physical attack if I can't even target them lol.

Depends a lot on the type of game.

For a turn-based RPG, I might use it in a tough fight. The visual downside isn't that big of a downside, even if it might make me unable to see what is the movement that the boss is using. As long as I can keep track of the HPs and buffs/debuffs, I should be able to handle it... I generally prefer having all information in hand though, so I would only use it in a situation that I deemed the extra damage to be truly necessary.

In an action game OTOH... I most likely wouldn't. Unless I like, had played the game a few times and felt confident enough in trying to play it without visual cues. This way, it could feel like a challenge run of sorts, which could be fun to try.

Would you trade a high amount of crit damage for a 1% crit hit? Thats basically how I compare this to that kind of scenario. Unless you are a gambler type of person, its like a strength build trying to hit a speed build. You rely mostly on luck to hit a person which in my case, I rather choose attack rate than any dmg just because I have a higher chance of hitting something random than relying on luck.

I mean it depends on the game , if it'll automatically hit the enemy when you click then i don't need to see but if i need to aim then no thanks

I would only use said item if I had something akin to an Echo Visor. Which is in essence an advanced radar. Radar would also be good too.

I agree with most of the previous posts. Unless there was a way to mitigate your accuracy, such as a never miss attack, aoe...etc I wouldn't use it. An exception to this would be if it was a shooter, then spray and pray would work just fine.

nope, if you miss most attacks the extra damage wont be worth it. unless you was in a situation whereyour attacks wouldnt miss

I would like to try it tho but maybe if it effects my damage rate then I will change it later?
