Spoiler: Theon and Dorothea relationship

In the first timeline Dorothea loved/was obsessed with Theon. Shortly after she met him in her second life she also had similar feelings for him, but was aware, that she shouldn’t force her love on him. Dorothea even wrote a bucket list: Theon belongs to Julia. Her actions and her reflections showed her complex feelings. One example being the handkerchief Theon gave her when she hurt herself. She kept it for multiple years and only gave it back when she believed she had gotten over him. There was even a small accidental kiss scene, where she fell on top of him while fishing. Both ignored it though. By that time Ethan had already gotten involved in her life.

In the first timeline Theon died after losing his stabiliser Raymond, and Julia. His powers were eating him alive. Nothing changed in the second timeline, he was dying and absolutely terrified. Because his symptoms got worse the longer he was away from Raymond, this fear was constantly on his mind. But after Dorothea was also revealed to be able to handle spirits, there was hope, another person he could rely on in terms of helping with his symptoms. They met up and he asked her for her hand in marriage, explaining that he loved her and also needed her for his dark spirit problem. When she hesitantly refused, he asked whether she loved Ethan. They were interrupted and things were awkward for a while. (His question made her realise she loved Ethan) To stay closer to Raymond, Theon became Raymond’s aide. There were two incidents where Theon questioned Ethan for his love. All in all, Theon didn’t get involved in their relationship a lot. And stayed away when he saw them interacting. A clean end to the turbulent relationship in the first life

Julia and his father even advised a political marriage, which Dorothea couldn’t have opposed. However, he didn’t want to force somebody into a loveless marriage or separate Ethan and Dorothea by force. So he told them they shouldn’t.

 

After reading the MTL, the abusive one in their relationship is the FL. Forcing him to marry her, not letting him our of his palace, Overflooding his palace with Gifts because she thinks it might improve their relationship. Killing people who is close to him. The direct and indirect cause of why his bestfriends died.

Dorothy and Theon got engaged because of the douche King because he sees her as a bridge to strengthen the connections to Theon's Family. Theon has no against on marrying FL since it's beneficial to both of them. FL brutally killed her brother and Theon saw it. Theon saw his bestfriend dying, instead of trying to hurt FL after her disgusting actions he simply held Ray's dead body and cried. IMO I think Theon only got feelings for Julia after they are exchanging letters when he was locked up in his palace. Julia to Theon at that time is his emotional support. When she died because of ML's schemes he thought it was FL since she smiled when she heard the news. Julia dying is his final straw of his sanity. Him saying to FL "your greed is what killed me" before unaliving himself is true. Because of FL's Yandere tendency in TL 1 she indirectly emotionally abused him which made him depress and leads himself to suicide

Dorothea’s mother died while giving birth to her. She had lost a LOT of blood. The scene was described as: the whole bed being red and the blood dripping to the floor, coating everything red as well. The nurses and doctors were running around, leaving trails of bloody footprints though the whole castle. Dorothea was pulled out of the cooling embrace of her mother all in red. Next to the bed stood the emperor crying.

the brother, the ex-husband and all are quite useless. In these stories there is always a lack of dialogue between them. the ex-husband couldn't talk to mc about what he was going through? That way she didn't suffer and there would be no misunderstandings.
Couldn't the brother defend his father's sister when he grew up?
the most is the king, he only repents with mc after mc showed his powers, it is that moment where the king begins to see her more useful and thus realizes that "he has a daughter"

Ok so, for Theon, she was a literal TYRANT, how could he trust her with his secret when she's not trustworthy at all? put yourself on his shoes, would you trust someone who's so cruel and evil just because you are married to him/her? with your weakness??
For Ray, her brother, as much as he loved her, he was jealous 'cause she was clever and 'a genius', but seeing her suffer from their father mistreatment he buried his jealousy. also, he was so scared of their father, he was cruel to him too, made him wish he wasn't born into the Imperial family. I shed tears when i read his confession to his sister saying that: "everytime i was called crown prince, i felt like i'm dead". He too suffered, but he tried to love his sister so she won't grow up wounded. He was growing, she was turning into a tyrant.
And we all agree that the father is a real trash.

I wasn’t mad about these replies specifically, because I wasn’t in the discussion to begin with, I just joined to say this because it was annoying how long the discussion was getting with the lack of spoilers in the spoilers thread. It was kind of spam like to read through and to try to search for the spoilers that weren’t there. Why are you so angry about this lol.

 

Teon from the beginning lied to her. He never considered MC as his friend. She was used. Theo says he did but that's hypocrisy. At most mc was just an acquaintance. MC's brother is also a hypocrite. The brother, not wanting to see the truth, also isolated and hurt her (behaves like a white lotus). Your dad mistreats your sister and you just watch? okay. and mc having a twisted personality led to such a massacre. It's a dysfunctional family. Everyone here has their sins. But what most prevents me from reading is that history does not resolve misunderstandings in the short term. It feeds the reader false and the author's narrative is not to my taste. Thanks to the spoilers and html you can get an idea. Ultimately, everyone has their tastes.

Misunderstandings aren't usually resolved that quickly. Stories without realism tend not to underscore the fantasy factor and are almost always nonsensical as a result. Objectively.

Plus if I were being bullied and expected someone else who had been bullied by the same person to come to my defence I should rightfully be considered cruel myself.

I also think though to be bluntly honest that expectations of the one being abused to make an effort to reconcile with their abuser (who is clearly also the one in love therefore should be the one to want to do good things for the other person the MOST) should also hold the expectation of being resented as well.

Additionally those expectations are doubly heinous when they're held for people who are literally drowning and the only ones who can help them are the ones who contributed to pushing them under in the first place.

Just wanna make a clarification: fiction is a reflection of reality. That's pretty much the reason certain victims have problems with the portrayal of what they were victimized by, in popular TV series.

I have average IQ. I knew it wasn't my brother's fault.that he got more attention than me when I was little. I knew that was my parent's fault. So I only resented them and just for that specifically. Besides it's actually more typical for siblings to be resented and be told that it's okay for others to hate them because of that, both in real life and fiction so that's why I'm sort of tired of those cliches in these kinds of stories.

 

Even though I would have loved more karma against him, I love the fact he was a crap father and person until the end!

I hate those stories where the MC was hated by his/her father or even killed by their father to return to the past and disvover it was s misunderstanding or the father wanted to love his childbut MC character (that he caused) didn't let him love MC... or he began to love her ehen she began to ignore him or blablabla!

I hope MC's mom gives him the karma he should have!

I read the manhwa up to chapter 5....and the MC is so weak here. It is almost like all the previous knowledge and wisdom she had as an adult got reset to zero. She literally a helpless girl here.

What is the appeal of this story again? To see her get bullied by everyone until ML came to save the day?
