Yoo Young-hyun of Jannabi, a rising indie band in Korea, had to quit the band because an anonymous online source accused him of bullying. And backlash against popular K-pop idol, Hyolyn, of SISTAR, have resurfaced also for having bullied a fellow middle-school classmate. We wanted to find out what ordinary Koreans had to say about this issue. So we hit the streets of Seoul to find out.
Contextually bullying in Asian countries is very serious. They're straight up criminally violent and often commit grevious bodily harm against their victims. Like there's viral videos of bullying victims with bleeding heads and cut up arms etc. Worst part is, most of these bullies have 0 remorse. Bullying in the west is kinda petty compared to Asia. Doesn't help that the teachers over there are mostly pushovers or often side with the bully and those who do stand up are in turn bullied by the parents or bully/bullies. Also it's psychologically proven that your teen years are vital to your growth so imagine being tortured physically and mentally tortured by your classmates for 3-5 years straight or even longer only for the bully to forget while the victim is forced to stay with the trauma, sucks. I mean Joohyun's actions were horrible and based on what? Petty stuff during their childhood where Jungmin just decided to distance herself from Joohyun. In retaliation, she ruined Jungmin. Jungmin's mentally broken. Her home life sucks and then she can't even enjoy her school days like her childhood because of Joohyun. Like if this was real life, Jungmin would probably be dead
Yes, and No. There is kinda cruelty in asian society, but it's not because some of people are pushovers, it's just mentality - people think that society work that way. Most of school teachers that are males was in army where they was bend in specific direction, to strictly follow any kind of authority. Girls have this idea by default. Bulling and emotion abuse is normalized.You can check out D.P. (netflix 2021) it's basically show about that. I had a kid in my class like that, he got ulcer in a middle of class, had being hospitalized, almost died. he was lucky that it had place in school. He got help, actually. But yeah, if you are a teen and don't know how to take care about yourself - bad for you.

The idol apologizes for what happened with excuses (saying they were really tired) and later complains about his group mates (I think it was just the brown haired idol). • The purple haired idol later keeps pestering Baek Siyoon if he's going to answer his calls. He said that he tried contacting him on a social media platform but Siyoon never responded. (Pretty sure you're not worth his time. Only Jeongmin is~) • Purple haired guy kept annoying him until Jeongmin came and told him to stop. • Siyoon and Jeongmin were communicating the whole time when Siyoon was talking with purple.

Lol. • Jeongmin drags Siyoon away from the situation he was in leaving Siyoon's ex-teamate stunned. • Jeongmin thought the idol was a girl instead of a boy making her jealous. (It seems like she turning a bit obsessive because she didn't like the fact Siyoon could've been talking to another girl or knows another girl.) • They head to Siyoon's apartment and Jeongmin mentioned she left early because Siyoon said he had something important to tell her. • Her jealously got the best of her and kissed him. Siyoon, surprised, pushed her back to later kiss her with tongue. • Okay guys there was a super hot makeout scene that I can hopefully post pictures later. They kissed for a good long time. • Siyoon confessed to Jeongmin and she did the same thing. They clarified their relationship and are officially dating. • Jeongmin asked Siyoon again who that person was and called the idol a girl.
