Honestly, I think over half the time we say Rodiot is lazy it's actually him being too arrogant or ignorant instead. He is the best at reincarnation, there has been no mention or indication of anyone remotely being on his level. So he arrogantly rests on his laurels. He has no need to look at the other inferior models, as they are all worse than his. This is a stated fact: He is the best, as far as he is aware.

People are complaining about how him having to fix errors manually is a sign of incompetence. How? If a large error occurs in some computer system, that problem isn't going to disappear without someone fixing it. If a system could do that, it wouldn't be popping up as an error in the first place. :hmm:

    You are having logical error.
    1) He is not the only one with reincarnation system. It was mentioned many times Rod don't govern ALL worlds. Here are worlds not in his system. Champions have been taken from world not in Rod system. This means he is not the only one god dabbling in this job. But other reincarnation gods are unimportant because they do not come to Lambda.
    2) Rod is like Nokia. He is at the TOP only until someone in his system gets bored and will make his own reincarnation system (like Vida). He believes no one can make anything better and everyone will use his system for eternity. Like Nokia did. Until he goes bankrupt with his outdated and not functional system.
    3) All software have bugs, but if you find a bug in your software you don't fix bad data, like Rod is doing. You fix bug. To make it simple I will give example. You have a calculator. Your calculator have a bug. If you add 2 + 2 it will give answer 4, but if you add 2.1 + 2 it will give 4 too and not 4.1. All Rod do is changing calculation result from 4 to 4.1 manually, but is not fixing bug, he tries to prohibit entering number 2.1 for calculations, but not fixing bug.
    4) Rod is lazy and super arrogant. Why this story exist? After DK invaded Lambda, gods ask him for help, because he is most powerful god, he is more powerful than DK. He refused to help and was planing to cut Lambda from his system if Lambda gods lost fight. After Lambda gods decided to get help from outside and got champions from world which is not in Rod system, Rod system got few error about new souls in his system and become mad, but could not do anything until champions dead.

Rod himself says that some worlds have opted out of his subscription, when they got a reincarnation God of their own, and has also cut some worlds off for his own reasons.

You act like Rod's system isn't easily the best system we've seen so far. Vida's system requires frequent or even constant monitoring by multiple gods to do a job that is frankly inferior to what his can do. The only advantage hers has is that it accepts foreign mana types and his apparently doesn't. The demon king's, meanwhile, is so buggy when running by itself that even gods using it might reincarnate with badly damaged souls and loss of memory and ability.

I'm not sure why you think it's so bad. At worst, his system requires less work to fix issues than the other two competing systems out there.

Vida never got a chance to improve her system to be fair to her. Alda and his crew knocked her out of commission like less than a hundred years after she made it. Since then it’s been operating pretty much entirely on it’s own and only managing because there was just enough open system control for people to at least keep it running even if they couldn’t improve it. If Vida had had a few thousand years and Alda had gone along with it, her system would probably work better than Rod’s.

I mean, I think we can all agree that the biggest and most objective flaw of Rodecorte's Reincarnation System is that, unfortunately, it comes with Rodecorte attached.

EDIT: To elaborate, almost everything that has ever gone wrong with his system in-story has been as a direct consequence of him meddling with it for his own selfish goals. His system is not designed to be meddled with due to how heavily automated he set it up to be. It works fantastic... if you leave it alone and want to account for zero changes ever. But things unavoidably change, and it's now a bit too optimized for the status quo of prior to the story's events.

Rodcort swoops in on new worlds and sets up his system before a god is born from belief, or convinces newborn creator gods to install his system rather than putting in effort to come up with their own. Then gets mad if they decide to make their own later anyway.
And memory loss was mentioned as a bug in using Vida's system. That isn't a bug. Rodolt's system wipes all memories to make it a fresh soul every time. Remembering a past life IS the bug.
One of the reasons that the demon king system is buggy as all get out is the monsters/demons remember their past lives frequently.

Yep. The problem is Rod, not his system.

No they do not, and that is the F-in problem.

Rodiot does not devote himself to his area, You quoting that and claiming it applies to him just says you do not know what devoting yourself to an area actually is. Rod is Lazy, his actions are always lazy, he wants to do the least amount of work possible.

That is a major part of what caused the story to take place in the first place, so which it can not be denied by anyone objectively looking at the story.

Here is the thing, that laziness makes him not fit that definition, because he is not devoting himself to that area, because devotion requires doing more then the F-ing minimum, and Rod only ever does the F-ing minimum.

As to the second, when has Rod ever shown anything beyond surface level knowledge? detailed knowledge would require knowing complex and difficult parts of the subject area. Rod has never shown anything going into the nuts and bolts of anything other then how his system operates. One thing that happens all the time with tech is someone outside the area treats even the basics as if it was mystical knowledge from beyond the stars. There is a huge difference between someone who has no knowledge of coding, someone who has made a simple script, and an actual specialist who has developed multiple systems possible including from scratch. Rod has never demonstrated anything on a comparative level beyond the guy with a simple script (his system).
Yes, but that is what we have things like updates and patches, of and crash minimizing error detection like of say verifying the format of the input. Things any non-armature software has, because competent developers (one of the requirements to be a specialist is to be competent BTW) realize they are not making perfect systems and put in ways to implement them. . Plus the majority of those bugs actually come from how complicated the code or scope of the software is and its dependence on outside resources, all things Rod's system is at the minimum complexity for.

Things have flaws, but every flaw seen in Rod's system is something that is obvious to anyone with even the slightest clue about development a huge red flag that is is a cobbled together amateur work.

You see this line you ignored, that is kind of the biggest thing you need to negate is you want to claim Rod is a specialist.

Rods system is amateur work, it has too many flaws besides the major destroyed soul flaw to not be. He is only in his position and power because he got there first, and he has to know that on some level of else one of his first thoughts who was it Zuruwarn went to collect the souls of the 8th guidance form Origin would not have been that they were making a deal to replace him. He was seriously worried they wanted him out, and well they do, but the thing is someone who provides a high caliber service does not fear that because they know they can justify staying on. You fear replacement when you are offering a low tier option and know you are only in business because you have an effectively captive client base.

Both of which take time to come into effect, and would not happen if it is migrated to another world which is what I was saying to do. Did you not actually read my post, or are you just ignoring the parts that not convenient for you, just like you kept doing what you first joined and kept white knighting Heinz despite massive evidence that he IS an evil man and one of the most flawed characters and one of the main villains in the story.

I am not going to even bother with the rest of your post, that is to much from barely 2 paragraphs of text.

Alright, if you don't want to argue anymore, that's fine. I don't think it's possible to convince you since you're very invested in proving yourself right rather than actually being right.

You are going for comedy now?
Because your sentence fit you the best.
In truth this is sentence which can't be said why arguing with someone, because it apply to all sides in argument.

    P.S.
You are perfect copy of Bellwood. He too starts to argue and if fail to convince other person he blames him for not wanting to discuss things, because he thinks he is always right. This means others are in wrong if they don't agree with him. He will never agree to others himself. Exactly like you.

The whole argument about Rodecorte's Reincarnation System is missing a bit of context.

Currently it's experiencing problems and isn't functioning as well as it should be. However, this has less to do with the variables that Vandalieu and company have thrown into the works and more to do with the fact that Rodecorte designed it to be as autonomous and rigid as he possibly could, simply because he doesn't want to have to direct things personally. Most of the issues we see are as a consequence of Rodecorte deciding to interfere with his own Reincarnation System for selfish goals, after he already designed it to not like being manually tampered with because he's too lazy and apathetic to directly involve himself in the finer details of his own creation.

However, it must also be said that prior to the events of the story, when Rodecorte still had a shred of rationality left and was not meddling with his autonomous Reincarnation System for selfish reasons, it was nearly flawless in the grand scheme of things. And that's because the system was doing what it was designed to do: cycle souls across various worlds, without interference from any higher or lower powers, beyond the occasional naturally-occurring undead. There were no variables to need to account for, because Rodecorte didn't stick his nose where it didn't belong (or where it did belong, from a certain point of view), and therefore everything ran correctly and efficiently.

Ultimately, Rodecorte's Reincarnation System has two flaws: It was optimized so thoroughly for a status quo of a previous era that it simply can't handle large-scale change; and the system, unfortunately, comes with Rodecorte, who is the one most likely to sabotage the proper functioning of said system. The changes that his system can't process were introduced as a direct consequence of his own meddling, laziness, and sociopathy, and in that order.

EDIT: In addition, it is fair to say that Rodecorte has a degree of expertise in the nuances of souls, but not to the degree that Vandalieu currently has. Not because it falls outside of his domain, but because he simply doesn't care enough about lower lifeforms to bother learning anything about them beyond what is necessary for his Reincarnation System to function properly.

No his system started to produce bugs after DK invaded Lambda and started to break souls. If Van could not break souls or more them to Vida system, Rod would smoke pod and look out of window, without any worries.

Flawless system is not the one who runs without problems. If it where my code written in Rust would be flawless
    [IMG]
if I run it and give it numbers it runs flawlessly and will run for eternity
    [IMG]
But only if I give it two numbers. If I don't...
It will panic. Because it is not able to run if I don't give it two numbers. The same go for Rod flawless system. If it don't get a soul after it is run it will panic and produce bugs. Because of this no programmer would call my code flawless, because it is not flawless. It don't handle wrong input. Wrong input is no input, missing part of input, giving not a number but a letter. This is a very, very bad code, but it can run flawlessly for eternity if you give it two numbers each time you run it. And this code can be written by noob. After reading Rust tutorial a little bit. Professional would never write it.

You're severely underestimating how rare not getting a soul is for his system. Pretty much only the Demon King and Van have caused that problem, but they are both very unlikely coincidences, pretty much being the exception rather than the rule. A really weird comparison would maybe be if your 2 numbers program did catch basically all possible inputs, but suddenly, a brand new language with new characters gets invented in some country, and their language gets added to computers, but the program doesn't catch it. That is just how unlikely it was that something could break souls and mess with his system. It was nearly flawless for what it was, but suddenly doesn't work due to a very unexpected fringe scenario. That doesn't mean it wasn't very good at what it was trying to do, just that there were some changed circumstances that stopped it from working as it should, similar to how a lot of very old programs from older operating systems don't work that well on modern systems. That doesn't mean they weren't good programs when made, just that circumstances changed.

Except there was another exception, the Gods of Lambda took people from outside of the system, and Rodcorte panicked. We don't know how rare it is for Gods to reach across to other worlds, really, but Gudu invaded Lambda and Lambda raided several other worlds for their Champions. These were all exceptions to Rod's system, things that caused errors.

From what we have seen so far this is exceedingly rare. Per world. But we don't know how many worlds Rod manages, do we?

I feel like that was more an annoyance rather than something he truly panicked over.

It seemed like Rod thought he'd be implicated in something if those Champions were returned to their worlds, alive or dead. He said they should quickly harvest whatever they needed from them, so he could wash their souls off in his system, leaving no evidence of the theft, or bind them heavily so they have no free-will. That sounds like panic to me.

I read it as sociopathy. Use them and then throw them away. I doubt he felt he'd get implicated in anything because there's almost no one who can seriously threaten him. Not because he's powerful, but because various world's pantheons would step in to defend him, which is something he counted on to keep him safe from Alda's anger.
