More like Lord of the Rings.

Although I do love pre-Madoka magical girls, they're a genre of their own to me.

I totally get what you mean. Interestingly-written female characters are so rare to come by in a female-targeted work. Most of the times, they are cardboard-cut characters lacking depth.

Btw, I highly recommend 'Kill the Villainess' I read it recently and the MC is well fleshed out

I love wuxia/murim! I don't consider it to be in the same category as xianxia/cultivation though, they are pretty different genres to me.

Wuxia with female protagonists seems to be pretty rare these days, or overall wuxia seems to not be as popular. Is that the case for murim novels? I read more Chinese novels because they're more accessible to me (I can't read Korean) but if there are Korean murim novels with female protagonists I absolutely want to check them out.

Check out Intoxicated Butterfly and Cold Moon. Not a novel but a manhwa.

Action/Adventure seems to encompass more variety. I read all the other genres too (except for slice of life), but no Japanese or Korean novels, only Chinese. I don't mind the setting - xianxia, ancient, modern, interstellar, all are ok, as long as it's not slice of life!!! I want some adventure in there, some plot.

Female leads like the one from scream Queen are quite nice. Cultivation with a slice of life and suspense or horror maybe?

Yeahh. From what I've observed Chinese novels (targeted towards female audience) seem to have more substance than Korean and Japanese

Can you rec me some good cultivation novels with a female lead? :aww::aww:I dont want the lead to be too overpowered:blobmelt:

There is a disturbing lack of historical non isekai romance novels and that makes me sad.

I don't really read novels with fl anymore but slice of life or a power struggle to rise would be preferred.

1.A glimpse into the daily life of the couple
    2. A daily life of someone who lives alone
    3. A daily life of someone with creatures or someone raising creatures
    4. A blog type novel of what the FL is doing. Whether it be adventure, cooking, college, etc
or maybe something similar to 'I realized I am in a BL world' or something similar. Or maybe something Like 'Villains day-off'
