    I just skimmed so I don't know about the rest but I did read about her step-brother. I don't know what he did but he was very hostile to Rosaline and hated her. In the end he did something extreme which ended up him being locked up in prison and sentenced to beheading. Rosaline confronted him but he was stubborn and didn't acknowledge his faults. She gave him poison as a last mercy/- or something I don't remember the conversation. The guards found him dead, he chose to end his life by poison instead of getting himself beheaded/admitting his faults-?

    I'm not sure why did she gave him poison but it was either as a mercy or she asked him to admit his fault and if he cannot, he can consume the poison and chose to end his life.

    About Rosaline's mother
    She was an immigrant. When she met Rosaline's father, it was said that she wasn't aware that he was a married man. She ended up giving birth to Rosaline and the latter wasn't acknowledged by her father until her mother died.
    He brought Rosaline at his home where she was despised by her siblings and maybe ill-treated by her stepmother but I'm not sure about step-mom's part again.
