As a fan of the isekai and transmigration genre, this plot is the shittiest. Any mind control/OP antagonist power bullshit is just frustrating and not entertaining at all. I don't mind the white lotus stuff ( I don't prefer it, but it's not a deal breaker for me) but this annoying plot in which the abused MC marries an asshole and everyone around her is garbage so she has to suffer more...but wait, she will end up with him because he has character development and broke out of the mind control after too long

Most of the time, I tend to think like you. I'm one of the haters that roams this forum and shits on stories because I find the characters irredeemable, but this time I'm happy and defending a novel (based on my humble opinion). Like others have said before, the ML wasn't unforgivably bad and toxic. The plot provides an admittedly cliché explanation for his behavior (OgFL is the author + kind of OP + characters are her puppets). I hated the ML's guts in the beginning because he acted like a major a$shole, but even when he was basically a puppet, he had a spark of conscience and free will that made him give the FL the benefit of the doubt, take her side and --probably because of his attraction to the FL-- he wasn't influenced by the OgFL to the extent that literally everyone else was. The ML deserved a chance (not even a second chance!) and seeing his character development was very satisfying. I truly can't say the same thing for most novels. Okay, this is my last opinion post. Oh, the concept of this novel reminds me of Villainous Daughter Aims for the Last Boss - Novel Updates

that night, when Edith was awakened, he was awakened by a suspicious figure who had barely fallen into a light sleep.

    'What is it? Assassination?'

He was about to reach for the dagger he had hidden under his pillow when the next moment he noticed that it was Edith who had broken into his room.

The faint scent of roses preceded the sound of her footsteps.

Curious as to what had happened this night for the man who had fainted and barely woken up, he let Edith do what she was doing.

Edith crept to the bedside and stood there for a long time.

Just as she thought it was an assassination, Edith slowly leaned down.

The smell of her sweet flesh made Killian almost forget to breathe.

After a moment's hesitation, Edith kissed him lightly so that she could get burned.

A light kiss that didn't even slip between the lips.

If you were fast asleep, you probably wouldn't have gone unnoticed.

The moment Edith kissed her, Killian opened her eyes in surprise.

He stared at Edith, who was right in front of him, with his eyes closed and his lips pressed together.

Her long brown eyelashes trembled, and her thin eyelids slowly opened as her lips dropped.

But Edith wasn't too surprised when she saw Killian with her eyes open. As if he knew he was going to wake up.......

"Mi, I'm sorry. That...... I'll take care of it. I mean......."

Killian couldn't let Edith go, leaving only a vain kiss.

'Again, the rumors of using the body as a weapon seem to be true. You think you're at a disadvantage, so you're going to try to seduce me with your body?'

The unexplained guilt he had felt quickly volatilized, and the heat that he didn't know whether it was anger or excitement rose from his belly.

I was nervous, but on the other hand, I wanted to see each one.

Before he could think of anything else, he was already holding onto Edith's forearm.

"You've done everything you pretend you're not, and now you're so that you can't even play?"

No, estrus was his own. It was probably a violent, one-dimensional desire.

He knew, but as was his habit, he rebuked Edith and pushed her.

    "No, I'm just a kiss......."

Killian hurriedly knocked Edith, who was trying to protest timidly, onto the bed.

'Where did you make ridiculous excuses......'

Killian snorted and determined to see what kind of move this woman was using.

"Where, satisfy me like the flower serpent of the Rigelhof. You don't know again. I'm going to have a body."

    "Yes......?"

Killian took off Edith's embarrassed-looking gown and reached into the hem of her saliva, which had been feeling so naughty since last time.

Her smooth thighs trembled at his touch.

"Key, Killian! Can I do this?"

    "What are you asking?"

"No, I mean... That...... Roddo, would you be okay?"

    Killian's hand paused.

'So, even though she knows I love Rize, she doesn't care enough to worry about my situation?'

Teeth grinded. At the same time, the urge to press the bridge of Edith's nose flat was also filled.

He soon began stroking Edith's soft flesh again.

"That's not for me to ask. Aren't you so confident that you crawled into my bed in the middle of the night?"

Then she swallowed Edith's lips as if she wouldn't allow any further thoughts.

I didn't intend to rub my lips a little tickle like Edith did.

As he slipped through the cracks of his soft, warm lips and found something sweet and soft, Killian felt the excitement of his hair standing on end.

So I was so absorbed in the kiss without realizing it.

Edith's breath, lips, tongue and saliva were ridiculously sweet and fragrant.

    "Eup, town!"

Edith couldn't breathe properly, panicking, and when she managed to remove her lips, Edith's eyes widened in astonishment.

    At that, Killian smiled sheepishly.

    'Hmph, pretend to be naïve.'

Then, feeling provocative, he grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest.

"It would have been a shame to just peek at it every time, but take this opportunity to take a good look. I can touch it."

"Uh, how do you do that......!"

    "Diary."

Edith's expression as her eyes widened and her mouth twitched to the core.

Killian thought he was crazy, but he grabbed her hand and let her touch my upper body.

It was an act of forcing herself to do it, but Edith didn't try to pull her hand away.

A thin, soft hand, completely different from his, swept over his sunburnt skin, giving him goosebumps.

It was an act that was meant to embarrass Edith, but his throat was also dry.

    “...... Are you satisfied?"

"yes? Oh boy...... That's, that...... yes......."

It was strangely pleasant to see Edith unable to take her eyes off her body even in the midst of her surprise.

He also felt like he was harassing an innocent lady.

He couldn't stand Edith touching her body as she let her touch her with her mouth wide open, so he buried his lips in the nape of her white, thin neck.

    "Hick!"

Edith made a strange noise and took a breath, but even that was cute now.

'Edith Riegelhoff is cute, I'm sure I'm crazy.'

It's not that it wasn't, but the scent of roses rising with the warmth of his body temperature made his head spin.

I thought it was a vulgar and foul smell, but why is it so good now? I felt like I was going crazy.

Around her neck was the ruby necklace he had bought for her.

Ruby, as bright as a drop of blood on the nape of her white neck, suited Edith well.

I still remember the tension when Edith pulled her hair together and obediently placed my neck. He put the necklace on and his hands trembled.

I thought she was going to get a kick out of me for throwing cheap stuff into me, but she's been wearing this necklace ever since.

Tickling his stomach for some reason, he kissed Edith heavily on the part of Edith's collarbone where Ruby touched, then pressed his lips further and further down.

    "Oh......! Killian......."

As Edith called his name in a wistful voice, something broke out somewhere in his mind.

After that, Killian couldn't control himself.

It's just the beginning of a night dominated by passion, instinct, hot body heat and slippery sweat.

Brooo...that's so fucked up all previous 12 were all different people (souls) man I feel so sad those many had through (I mean FL too).

Edit: Question; maybe I read too fast and missed it but does Killian know about the previous 12 souls that were Edith? Someone on YT told me he finds out about the previous timelines but they didn't tell me if he knew if every Edith was a different person(soul)

Also so much thanks to the people giving spoiler, the manhwa just released and the thread is new and we got so many spoilers already

Idk if it's just me who felt like this but this story seems to pin for the conservative vibes. A good women is a women who endures hardship and waiting for her husband without fail. Not to make complaints, be frivolous or step beyond the husbands authority. Idk why I got this vibe from a modern web novel of all things lol. Well the good ol' traditional view of a proper wife is basically a doormat. Ig I got the vibe cuz FL seem to fit the stereotype. Not that I blame her for it, since she was running out of options on her own end. But it seems rather dissatisfactory for me when FL turns out to be rather weak and compliant archetype. I'd have loved it if FL at least tried to entertain other thoughts about escaping that hell hole of a marriage altogether but instead, she just bit through it all and endured like the perfect proper wife she is. She maybe a good wife but she isn't a very entertaining as a person/woman for me. Welp ig I'll read this if I'm ever in a mode for torture porn.
Ty for all the spoilers so far.

This is the first novel which I'm liking that includes mind control, plot barriers and limited abilities of a character.

I've completed only 25% of the novel and Killian's development is moving fast. So far, he has done a good job unbinding himself from the shackles of the tightly binding plot. The scene where he brings ointment for Edith and embraces her when she snuggles into his arms is cute and emotional.

I must say, Edith has suffered truly worse because of the greedy author. She has been abused way lot and all the characters are her pawn. It's truly a delight Killian trying to save her everytime and making excuses to find her. He has also started questioning himself. Hopefully, Killian will break completely free from the plot soon and will save herself from all these freaks trying to hurt her. It's painful seeing her being trampled and scheme against every single time.

Thanks a lot @jjaggii for the spoilers, cause because of that I was able to read the novel. This plot intrigued me. I know a few similar novels but this is slightly different from them. This is the first novel (for me) where one single character hasn't been born again and again until they caught a hope of change and the fact, that the barrier to the unchanging of plot armour is inside the novel witn the characters. So far, it's been a good read.

For here, he think like that because the men in the (aristocratic) club all yaps about her like that. She was forced to sometimes seduce a man by her family to extract information and make him yessified for doing a favour/business etc. for the 'family'. According to Edith's memory, original Edith never let any men go beyond touching her hand. Her work was only to entice them. The rest was dealt by her 'family' on how to get the men infatuated with her to go away because they didn't want to make her 'value' less. Creeps. All creeps.

So these men went on to exaggerate and fanned rumours about her and making her look like a femme fatal in the eyes of others.

    Hello everyone!

I read the side stories and read Lizzie's POV thoroughly. I have some corrections to my spoilers.

    Author's Absolute Authority:
The name of Lizzie's plot armor skill is called Author's Absolute Authority. Though, in the MTL, it is just called the 'Creato'rs Authority'. Lizzie explain in her POV: "Once I came into my novel, I had grown frightened of death. However, I realized that I had a cheat no other could have, it was my right as an author." I stated in the past that she could place restrictions but I didn't know why it was called restrictions, in Lizzie's POV, she says "All the characters are mine. My will is theirs and their will is mine. They can never break free of their restrictions." She later explains that everything in the novel has been written all the way into completion (AKA to the ending) and that no character can break free of the novel's set path. So, it is called restriction because if they fail the conditions, they are restricted into their character in the novel, under Lizzie's influence. AND I forgot to mention this. Every time Lizzie tries to overly control or change what's happening. Edith will receive a notification like so: Due to the Author's excessive tampering, the Author's creation deviates slightly from its intended path. In the MTL, this was important since excessive tampering lowered the efficiency or influence of the minor characters.

    How does Lizzie's influence work?
Again, in Lizzie's POV, she explains the AAA's Influence. She used an analogy to explain but its hard to translate to English so I will use a similar one. It's similar to a battery where in its complete or fresh state, you could do anything with it. You are unaware of the battery's presence because it's doing its job. However, when the battery begins to lose energy, it begins to malfunction. You can try to spam or hit the device the battery is in but it rarely does it after a million chances. So when Lizzie's influence is at 100%, the characters themselves are unaware of the 'battery' inside of them that is powering everything: their response, their expression, how they act, their personality, etc. However, when the 'battery' inside dies out, like when it goes below 30%: they can move or think autonomously differently than their 'intended use'. I hope this is clear since this was hard to explain.

    The Budget:
In the novel, it was explain that when a bride or daughter in law in married into a family, the husband will set aside an allowance for the lady. However, Killian was under AAA and follows his role, so that means Killian 'hated' Edith and didn't care to set a budget.

However, before Lizzie and Edith went out, Killian confronted Edith, saying: "Why must you sell the accessories of your dresses? I do not understand." When Edith replies that too much extravagance is deadly to the family's reputation, Killian says: "And too simply is a crime too. Let us shop together, okay?" But Edith replies she has no money for that. Killian is confused and asked her how can she have no money, but Edith says: "Aside the dowry of the Count and the money from the accessories, I have no funds allocated to me."

In Killian's POV, he states: "How embarrassing. While I flaunted my wealth and tried to win her affections, I has completely forgotten my first duty as a husband... How odd." Killian remarks later that even husbands who really detest their wives still allocate a budget because he didn't. This is where Killian began doubting himself internally. He does this and tells Edith in their married life but she always reassures him.

About Edith the 'Damsel in Distress':
I will clarify this. I haven't spoiled most of Edith's actions. Mostly it was the other characters. She was always defending herself. She cried to herself and hardly cried to others. Of course, she couldn't do anything drastically out of character because if she did, it resulted in death. Killian may be under less influence, but the others aren't. Every single incident spurred by Lizzie, they were already considering her exilation or her death. Anything she did, whether framed or intentionally, that was out of character, it would result in her death. Yes, she is often abused by the story but that is because she is not the real Edith, this circumstances happened to open the plot of Villainess Edith and to created disdain for her in the original story. Edith is supposed to be hot-headed and arrogant about every incident, but because she is logically defending herself and living by her means, this creates more incidents because Lizzie, the Author, wants her to be branded as a Villainess. Also, sidenote, a damsel in distress can be a strong lead too. Reminder, when the kidnapping happend, Edith fought hard and desperately to make time for reinforcements to come. Another thing, she endured the abuse during the kidnapping to it could: "stray attention from the Duchess, who was Killian's beloved mother and the only other person who showed me genuine care besides Killian." I'd day, in her own right that she is strong. Not overtly, but still strong.

Thanks for dropping it. Edith has been truly defending herself and standing on her ground doing everything to survive and get away. I'm very happy to see such a strong FL, she is being mentally and physically drained by the people around her yet she is keeping herself collected, going against the author's ability with all her strength.

Killian's development is also speeding up. The praise also goes to Edith because had she not stand on her ground and cross questioned him with facts and given a logical narrative, he would've not thought about them. The more deeply he thinks and trusts Edith, questioning why just to be suspicious on her comes to everyone's mind, the more he loosens up from being a pawn.

Edit : Not to forget she has brought her own trauma from her original world. Yet she is trying everything with her limited control to fight on keep living. So readers should really give her a break and stop expecting a Super Saiyan move from her at once fully knowing from the spoilers that not only the plot but her fate is also controlled by someone else.

P.S - Kudos to Anna for showing her compassion and other characters as well.

    Edith tells Killian everything:
When the final restriction is undone, Edith can finally talk about everything. She tells Killian about her world, how she is not the true Edith, how there are previous Edith's who have died un different timelines and the truth about Lizzie. I don't remember if she explains to him that they are residing in a novel but Edith calls Lizzie, the 'creator' and Killian takes it as, 'a supreme being' and not as 'author'. In my previous spoilers, in their married life, Edith implements a lot of modern day systems to their County. Once she can move autonomously without worrying about her death, she starts working hard. Killian believers her wholeheartedly and doesn't doubt her one bit.

I find the situation against Edith hateful, because back in chapter 106 when lize sends the letter to Cliff about Edith checking the doors, implying that she was working for her family, the duke says that she was ungrateful and that he felt ashamed to give a dishonored wife to his son; that's when the duke and Cliff plan to kill her. Edith was a virgin, even when she met men, her family had guards watching over them, so she wouldn't lose her value and sell her to the highest bidder, in some flashback, Edith sees og Edith being groped by a guy and he touches her ass, when she returns carriage, she cries until reachrs the mansion

Yeah I hate that so much, you can't direct hate to them because they were puppets blah blah, they still did the action of destroying an innocent, an accomplice to that deed willing or not. But it is a frustrating plot that feels like a damn waste of time. Same with redo time reset stories, as though it negates the harm done, people still died and suffered, turning time back doesn't erase them.

Hmm well I'm lacking alot of information on the portrayal of her personality since I'm only relying on the spoilers here. So my assumptions about her may have been incorrect. But still, when I first read about this story, it strongly reminded me of "How to get my husband on my side". There, the FL was also facing a similar situation to this having to face all the prejudices and malicious intentions from her husband's household with nowhere to return as her own family was also hostile to her. She tried many things and struggled alot but she never thought I might as well die since I'm supposed to die sooner or later anyway. Ig it just ticked me off when I read this certain spoiler about FL just pointing at her neck instead of standing up to herself. Well I do understand that she went through alot being tortured and all. But her husband was clearly on her side. Could have at least fought for the both of them if not just for her sake. Since if she was really framed to be a spy on a public execution, her husband's reputation would be ruined as well. Putting that aside, idk if she ever really fought head on againt the OGFL. Cuz as things progessed, it wasn't just a laughing matter or being cute anymore. She isn't only living with her husband alone there. If she wants to live a peaceful life, she needs to first secure her surroundings. There's a limit to how much you can take things lying down without ever fighting back. Maybe I missed something but I never saw a mention of her fighting back against the OGFL. Leaving divorce aside, I'd appreciate of she at the very least cursed at her in-laws and the bunch even in a dream... :blobcry:

Maybe I'm being too demanding lol. Don't mind my stupid complaints. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything to us. ❤️

I agree, this novel is for the very patient ones.
Killian did not project Lizzie on Edith, neither did he just wanted her body while being in love with Lizzie. Killian was attracted to Edith and was making excuses for himself that maybe it is so because she is extremely beautiful. After that, he really wanted to know her, his conscience knew that he is just making excuses to paint her as a bad woman and his head used to hurt as if someone is putting a spell on him.

Till where I read, after he started to question him and defend Edith, he started warming and respecting her more as his wife. His feelings for Lizzie aren't even that strong neither he thinks about her while with his wife or even if he is not with her, he wants to make his marriage work. The little affection he has for Lizzie is just as a family member, not as a woman. He doesn't want to disrespect his wife or do something out of line and even Edith trusts him with that and said the same in a conversation with Anna.

For me it is difficult to put as it is, but only when a person reads the plot, they understands that how he never did anything out of line. But Killian never did a trash move like that of projecting the girl he was unable to get on his wife. He is embracing Edith, fully knowing that she is she, not someone else.

Hello~ Yes! It was not a lot but its very descriptive.
In the side stories, there is a part where Lenon, a servant of the Ludwig Duchy who serves as the accountant, accepted the County's letter of employment.

Once Lenon arrived, the Count couple met with with for the terms of his employment. Afterwards, they engaged in pleasant talk, catching up and whatnot. Edith asks him about the Ludwig Duchy and Lenon sighs heavily, pulling out his diary where he has accounts of his day in the Duchy and the atmosphere there. Edith and Killian were a little surprised that he was willing to share his diary but they listened to his recounting.

In the diary, it starts when Edith and Killian are gathering their items and packing up for the Leisen County. Lenon remarks, "The faces of the other servants were not pleasant, as the those who served her Ladyship Edith and his Lordship Killian, were brimming with happiness. They were set to depart soon." Lenon explains the duchal servants were not happy that Lizzie and Cliff were going to be their master. He then explains the Duchal couple, remarking: "Her Highness the Duchess has spent a lot of time with the Lady Edith, I have heard of their laughter and joy from the office. However, the servants have begun whispering that the Duchess and Lady Lizzie were having disagreements. Often with Her Highness the Duchess giving way to Lady Lizzie." Later on, when Edith and Killian left, Lenon states the "The Duchy was getting gloomier as days go by." Lenon often saw Cliff and Lizzie fighting and the Duchal couple often looking worse for wear. Lizzie and the Duchal fought often. During these fights, Lenon overheard the servants say that the Duchess often sighs, blaming herself for spoiling Lizzie so much. He overheard her say, "How I wish Killian and Edith were here, at least there could be a form of happiness to look forward to."

A clear instance of remorse was when Lizzie were preparing for a ball the Duchess is supposed to plan. He saw the Duchess sigh often and nod sadly. Lenon remarks as well that the Duchal couple "Often waited for your letters as they were a piece of happiness they often read repeatedly." After the ball, the Duchess began distancing herself from Lizzie. The Duke as well, started arguing and getting angry with Lizzie, often comparing her to Edith, their Daughter. "It was surprising to see such a strong man shout at a frail lady but the Lady herself was relentless, fighting with gusto that left the Duke short of breath and muttering." Lenon also remarks that they often advised Cliff but the three of them often tried helping Lizzie to no avail. When Lizzie finally got so out of hand, they all decided to let it be and reprimand her at every turn, lest they all wear themselves out to death. Finally, Lenon remarks, "I try not to be nosy of the matters of my masters, but it was hard not to when the servant often worried of Lord Cliff who drank, of the Duchess who cries often and the Duke who has locked himself in the office."

In this part of the side stories, Edith quickly states that the Duchal couple often sends gifts and letters of remorse to Edith, mostly, but also to Cliff their son. They refer to Edith in the letters as, 'daughter'.

Other than that, the Duke has shown remorse during the execution, when he saw Edith's face full of injuries. Another time was when Edith was recovering, they both often visited and helped Edith. The duchess accompanies Edith like a friend and the Duke often brings remedies he 'found accidentally somewhere.' Killian must've gotten his tsundere habits from the Duke.

These are all the remarkable instances I can remember! ^^
