I’m not sure since I only read the last volume. If I make a guess, it might be the fact that when he uses magic he gets the scars on his skin and possibly internal damages. I know MC says she no longer has to heal him with her power anymore. She thinks this when she was planning to quit.

So, she gets kidnapped. The person who orchestrated the kidnapping was Celestia’s friend from the first chapter, the one who said that the ex was trash. She’s really the head of an information guild in the Goldina empire. Seems the empress dowager manipulated some information that made the emperor seem like an awful person, but I don’t really know for sure because, for some reason, that whole chapter was flipped backwards and I couldn’t read it. Anyway, the prince who tried kidnapping her before said he wanted Celestia to close some seal for him, and if she did, he’d undo the curse he put on the emperor. Apparently, she’s the only one who can go in because of her magic circle on her back.

This curse was why the emperor couldn’t use magic without pain. Things happened in this order

Celestia said she’d think about it
Dowager Empress is confused as to why the emperor is not upset at his secretary’s disappearance
He actually is, but he has to act like he isn’t.
Emperor visited her with the intention of rescuing her
She tells him she can’t go back, then tells him about the curse
He reluctantly leaves
The prince undoes the curse, super difficult since it requires lots of magic, and lots of mages
Libertiti said the curse was lifted, but Celestia didn’t believe it since it was only words
The prince set up communication with the emperor, he did some magic, and was fine
Celestia, relieved, promised she’d be home soon
They go to the cave with the seal, and Celestia goes in
She fixes the circle, and Libertiti begs to come in with her
Celestia realizes that even though she went in, she’ll now never be able to come out, and the prince and Libertiti knew this

Last I read, the Emperor had declared war on that country, and Celestia’s knight had just found out that Celestia and Libertiti might still be alive.

I just saw in the manga that our mc sees a notebook containing photos of the emperor's marriage candidates (I think)
what happens after that? Does she leave or does he resolve the misunderstanding?

 

I'm curious after seeing the manhwa again and reading the spoilers: did they just abandon Libertiti as a monster? What of her brother and the guild? And was the other kingdom successful in appeasing ML?

 

After seeing the latest manhwa chapter, they really did abandon Libertiti. I apologize for chuckling a bit. Did she die though? Didn't change positions at all and her brother presumably mourned or was obviously sad. What did he expect was gonna happen?

 

From what I understand, the king wasn't aware of Libertiti being a friend of MC and see her as responsible for MC kidnapping, even so she became trapped with MC, and yeah he save MC and not her.

 

Probably the worst manhwa I’ve ever read, everything is so messy and the fuck is that secretary uniform lmao the whole manhwa is absurd specially the pace of the story

 

I mean before you support someone, you should have some standing or be superior to that someone who you support since you don't even know what will happen after they became prominent figure, they might even accuse you or smth. I mean it's not bad to support someone but supporting someone by giving yourself up is complete bullshit. Even someone with higher standing supporting someone and expecting them to be loyal since they support when they're still unknown got betrayed in the end...
