I cant say im really surprised...the good and well done traps, are at least cute. As annoying as it can be at times when you realize the cute girl, is truly a guy, at least they are understandable. However there is far and i do mean far too many men who dress up as female characters, and do so terribly. It makes it cringe worthy just attending these things. Truth be told I highly doubt anyone wants to meet that 40 yr old hairy legged man who dresses up like sailor moon. Almost all female characters have a rather large amount of skin showing, and whether one wants to admit it or not, 99% of males can not pull it off. Yet atleast 50% of those 99% will try...At least with female to male traps, you can normally tell, and even if you cant it never goes into a disaster zone for the most part. However a bad male to female trap, is a pure disaster.
Let's set the sexism aside for juuust long enough to admit that no one wants to see many of the cringey females cosplaying, either. Face it, bro. They're not all fashion models. Maybe we should just say that ugly people can't cosplay at all!
That has little to do with when they cosplay a male...more to do with just shouldnt cosplay in general. Many of us, both male and female fall into that category.
Heh, the true traps would be able to sneak in without people realizing it anyway. Now for actually banning male to female crossdressing in general, they could just as well ban any bad crossdressing no matter if male or female, would be just as unfair.
no one is scar'd for life if its a female trap, its a nice surprise, or a female turns lesbian after finding out the dude they were crushing on was a girl. Because a dude that likes like a girl, is a hella lot better than a girl that looks like a dude. But it will scar so many men to find out the cute "chick" they had hots for (aka flat/small chest lovers) is actually a dude..... so to summerize, a male trap will scar all men (who aren't gay, def gays out there that go for the traps ofc) but won't scar a woman, while a female trap wouldn't tramatize females, and is basically a tomboy and many men are into them.
I can think of plenty of scenarios where a female cosplayer/crossdresser could be pure nightmare fuel.
Yeah, maybe because I just watch some video (1) yesterday , but I think I might have an idea on this: TLR, in the video, it said that when you're at the top, you have to please certain key player in order for them to put some money into your revenue. And if you couldn't just straight up give them money in exchange for sponsorship, sometime certain law could be deal to give them some benefit. Basically, if you find any law that doesn't seemingly make sense, 8/10 it's probably politic. And you could pick out what is in the interest from the law it give. So, for instance this recent ban we're talking about: Such ban could mean that either the majority, or one major key player find it (or could find it) uncomfortable for the culture where people could dress in clothes of different sex while probably still have the majority reference. So who could possibly feel that way in the recent con eh? You probably should check this (2) ...Yeah, it's easy to think who could mind this. Edit: somehow the place don't allow link to be held but the two link I was talking about is: 1. Youtube- 3 Rules for Ruler 2.tokyo comic con joins silicon valley comic con
there's no link restriction as far as I know. But maybe because your account is new here. But makes sense to restrict few features on new accounts, to prevent bot spamming. Anyway, Welcome.
I just want to say one thing. If you are good enough, how will they know? Pull down your pants in their office?
So what happens if you cosplay a character that happens to be a trap character aka Highschool DxD's Gasper? That's a legit cosplay, not that I'm into traps but freedom of being able to cosplay your characters is what gets everyone to dress up in the first place ....and what would happen to grandpa schoolgirl? Iconic cosplayer right there
