@Risus My reaction in a nut shell. First Death Metal Song I listened to and I decided to look at lyrics and that was what came up. Funny thing is it is pretty inaudible when playing the song, you have to really focus in on it to understand what he's singing. Even then, it's pretty difficult to make out.
I'm not sure if they qualify as Death Metal, don't really pay attention to genre distinctions, but try out; Ne Obliviscaris, Fit for a King, and Born of Osiris..
I think fit for a king is more metalcore but the others *shrugs*
@Umpteenth Young Master Cannibal Corpse is on my list of Death Metal bands to listen to. Along with Death, Morbid Angel, Behemoth, and Possessed. I have quite a bit of classic Metal I want to listen to as well.
The classics like Metalica and Iron Maden, are always good.
I've been listening to Rammstein recently, other than that lots of power metal like Sabaton or Stratovarius.
@tocos10 I like Iron Maiden. I like a few Metallica songs as well, though I'm not familiar with their work as I would like to be. If we are talking about classics my favorites are Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. I've thought about giving Deep Purple a listen, but haven't got around to it.
Deep Purple is more prog-rock than metal, a great band nonetheless. The best Metallica albums in my opinion are the first four, Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets and ...And Justice For All.
