We are living in a world that shifts more from communal lifestyle to solitary lifestyle.
It is a big problem in the States. It is easier if 10 family members try to pay back a loan than for one person to do it.
Asian lifestyle might have its disadvantages but building healthy extended family relationships is important.

Yes it is. There was great thinker that saied that the human who can live alone is either a demon either a god.

I think that I know what you're talking about, but, that's a main fault of how economy works. Beside that, independence and 'liberty' are notions that are hard to implement and understand.

In third world countries if you want to borrow money you use a cooperative. It is like a credit union but on a much smaller scale.
You dont have to worry about your credit ratings and your properties.
Sororities, fraternities or (secret) associations control the economy
That is why we have things like OPEC
When people stop looking for solitary, they can have more power.
People are always stronger as a group.

@timbone ... yes and no. In many countries there are organizations that try to pass the collateral/assurance thing. BUt, in fact, there's a general rule that says that a human has something called patrimony and that patrimony = all rights and obligations that can be evaluated in money; it's existence is as long as the life of that human. And so, in fact, you're risking only the capital.

That's one of the reasons that loan sharks exist. Try to read the Manga https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ushijima_the_Loan_Shark . There's also a drama.

Now, the one who loans doesn't (the rule) want the collateral, he/she wants his/her money back and only that. The collaterals are just a way to assure that .. the creditor will have something as a backup.

What existence? You mean the loan?
Cooperatives do have some form of collateral. I was trying to say that they are less toxic ways to survive in a communal style community that a solitary lifestyle

I am not saying cooperatives are free. It is just less toxic than borrowing from banks or credit cards. Some credit card companies sell your credit to collection agencies who can you "bounty hunters" to find a person

They do that as a last resort: they can't afford or don't want to 'chase' the bad debitors. Of course, in some cases, that's just an paravan.

Many universities began to 'help' students by loaning them money in advatangeous conditions.
