Btw on the "interview" she said that she lost her voice at the age of 15 and then went through with what is called "Silence Therapy," that's how she got a new voice that's described as "husky." She didn't talk for half a year and spoke via written messages.
She went through school at the time by written communication as well. Her condition is something I can't make out that's worse than polyp, which is an abnormal growth of tissues. (Taken from reddit)
