specifically, I am aiming for Bio manufacturing, using Biological systems to manufacture industrial goods like solvents or fabrics.
And Medical Engineering, researching how to recreate organ structures and the like through artificial means.
One of the things I've been reading up recently that I found really interesting, was bone graphs that are used for splintered and shattered bones. normally the only options would be to remove the limb, but with the new graph, they can install it, then attach the splinters and fragments, then new bone will grow naturally over the graph. Its an awesome idea.
@Anon Ymous yes actually, there are people working on biomachines that are designed to connect to the brain directly, and help people with things like alzheimer's or paralysis, though stuff like that is in its really early stages.
