We heard a similar story,

A new shop in the sold really good cooked meat, it was a restaurant. Everybody had praises for it.

Until the neighbourhood found out that stray dogs have almost vanished from the neighbourhood, one thing led to the other and investigators found out, stray dogs were being killed, and people ate their meat unknowingly.

It was a Muslim neighbourhood. They don't eat dogs or cats.
