Yeah, no, syosetu authors update pretty much at their own whim. I'd bet half the novels on there have been dropped and most of the rest are on some kind of long-term hiatus.
Syosetu is a free platform for every random Tom, Dick, and Harry so the majority of novels are pretty amateur and most of the authors have no idea what they're doing. The novels aren't monetized or anything, so there's really not any incentive beyond the fanbase to keep posting.
Yup i read something similiar about the amateur author that cannot even write the script for Light Novel adaption or Anime adaption and all the work is the Editor credit but the money goes to the Author just because patent.
