again I think it feels hard coz you have a weak starter

Larvitar is strong against first gym (fire). For second gym (grass/bug) I have zubat. My third one is sneasel

What I mean is larvitar is a weak pokemon until it evolves. The game is still pretty fun with all the customization options

larvitar is also harder to level up as his exp curve is wierd

It is mod of pokemon gold, gameboy color. Play it via emulator on my phone

In this game larv evolve to pupitar at 20s. Iirc until 3rd gen should be 30 @Ddraig
