A squall line/ low front/ thunderstorms were supposed to approach from the west to the east towards the north of my base
But acc to the planning that was done before~~ I would have long crossed the region of approaching bad weather before they crossed my path.....

But since I got delayed... or rather cuz I didn’t sleep on time...

The weather was bang on in the middle of my route...
Either I had to scrap my flight or change my entire course and destination(like by going south) or make detours like maaad....


All the options are tedious ^

Sounds pretty bad :(

Option 1 was out of the window cuz I can’t waste my day


Option two was like rip make another another homework and work the math again... cuz everything is afresh and also there’s no point where I can hit 300 nm from the base, so not really possible

Option 3 is something I liked, but now my flight time will increase by over an hr or two....

All this happened 'cuz of your casual approach?

So now I am starting late + my flight time will be more and there’s potential shitty weather to be avoided

I dub thee: a series of unfortunate events

I think it's better than the other options.

So now I am going to the destination ... diverting east to avoid the approaching weather (from the west) n reach the place at 4 hrs point when I was supposed to reach at 3 hrs....
More tired than usual cuz the air is bumpy....


Now comes the interesting part...

After a halt of 3 hrs, and two hrs short of sunset... I get my plane ready again... and fatigue creeps in.. good news is that nada weather has passed
Bad news is Visibility will be shitty as hell cuz

Turbulent air = good visibility
Calm stable = poor visibility
The former gives you bumpy rides like real bumpy(my first leg was so)

interesting? in a good or bad way .-.

The latter will be smooth as f but you can’t see well and it’ll soon become dark...

So here comes my mistake, I start to hurry up stuff and I leave behind stuff that’s needed for the flight(not a very important stuff but definitely something you can’t shrug off) and I didn’t know until this morning lol
Man I am pissed at myself....

Oh regarding the casual attitude is that I have a habit of double checking stuff but since I was in a hurry to return I didn’t double check so I left it behind

Also it was such a stupid error, it’s not something any one will do...
Like not even a freshie will do


So now I had to explain to the school why I chose to go in that route knowing that there’s TS and so potential stress inducing situations and all....
And there’s no way I can explain myself

Thankfully it wasn’t anything that affects the safety of the flight

I don't believe that it's considered as casual attitude. You are diligent in prep work in most cases, it just so happened that things went wrong consecutively today. While it can be avoided, you don't have to beat yourself because of it.
