At first, I thought it was a wuxia-esque curbstomping story, but it ended up being so tear-inducing...

Ouch. But it only made it better.

Feels a bit rushed tho. *sigh*

Admittedly, it was pretty sudden, but it changed the tone of the story and made it seem less cliche.

perhaps Needs the backstory of why the hatred for the occupants of the island

Hmm... I was thinking that the white dog that came to the island is the child of the old master of the Island: the white dogs. The white dogs used to reside in the middle of the island, where four stones (with powers I'm not sure of but is important to the island). Then greedy creatures killed the old master, stole the stones and created their own territories.

Maybe the white dog got transported to the future or only managed to wake up after a long time and so it only took its revenge at the time period when this story occurred.

Tbh, I'm not that sure. I usually let the story flow on its own.

That's already more thought than I've ever put into... anything, really.
