Using either webnovel or WW as a reference. - both websites are tactile and respond on mobile/ pc Webnovel reading experience is a scrolling style. (Con: need to keep on refreshing if loading on mobile) WW reading experience is a paged style. (Con: Ads may be intrusive)
Hmmm, right now I'm browsing several novel reading sites. Roughly I'd say things which break reading immersion. for instance an Ad in the middle of the reading, bothers me. I can tolerate those things if they are placed at the very beginning or very end. Not in the middle. edit: This goes for mobile & desktop
