I pity you...my mom has an issue with her weight as well, but I ate well as a child, didn't snack so much. Not so much some of my siblings. 2 of them absolutely inherited something, and have trouble staving off the pounds.

Turns out, when you work, you have money to spend on junk food...which is not a good thing. I try to only get 1 package of cookies per store visit. There was even a point where I. Would eat an entire cheese cake by myself ;(
I'v stopped doing that since then. But chips and salsa just doesn't do it for me like tag-a-longs and chocolate fudge cheese cake
Biking and horror movies! Anything that makes you sweat. Try eating less as well. I had to restrict myself to PB&J sandwiches and 1 family sized bag of chips per week for months for lunch after I decided to try to not gain weight.
It sounds dumb, but it's world better than Burger King, McDonalds, and Dominos
If you eat PB&J sandwiches for a week, you earned yourself 3 cake slices/pie slices/donuts of your choice. And you can't have a full cake or a full dozen
I have gym equipment's at home for exercising plus I run in the morning.
Though it doesn't help much it keeps me fit. But, even if I eat one small pack of cookies, I somehow gain weight. Even though I avoid other junk food T_T
I bet it's because you work an office job. Do you work an office job? My daddy says office jobs are hard to stay fit in. He says that his work has a gym with free membership if you sign up for some nightly courses like Kick Boxing.
I think you would probably do better eating what you wanted and working out, than going on a diet and breaking it after not having your favorite comfort food for a long time.
Bengali or Bangla is my spoken language. Chinese is too hard for me. I would rather try JP. Though my knowledge is very limited in JP as I never learned the actual language professionally.
And I am planning to take a break from dieting~

It's helpful in dieting. Not many prefer it as it tastes disgusting and smells also disgusting. But if you can handle it and follow a specific dieting regiment, other than sweet & stuff you can eat almost anything.
Depending on your body you can lose quite a lot of weight. Of course, some people have diffuculty in losing weight so they lose weight slower~
